Love going back and watching the Brands brothers, play personify the word intensity! So glad to have him in Spencers corner, great competitors understand great competitors. The "he doesnt suck his thumb" had me dying but he is so right, after the Ramos loss alot of people doubted him but he got right back up like a true champion! And he said it "Go Spencer!"
When Coach Brands returns, he’ll now have to not only worry about that BEAST in the East (PSU) but the Coach David Taylor led Cowboys of Oklahoma State. 🤠
Best thing that happened to Iowa in a while. We need more competition in college wrestling. Excited for Iowa and excited for the sport.
Dont forget Iowa& O.S.U. have wrestled each other for years,not because they had to,but Brands& Smith wanted to! Dont think with D.T. at the hell that will change! Go HAWKS!

How many 57kg guys have hwc had in the olympics the last decade plus? Lee Gilman Dennis Ramos etc. give credit where credits due
The brands brothers were cejudo main coaches too if I'm not mistaken
And how many have they had at the other weights? Don’t wanna take away from them but done nothing at 65-74-86-97-125. And when you extend it to world championships it’s NLWC, ORTC, Cornell RTC with Yianni and Dake

I loved this part of the video from Coach Brands, "..its just what's inside of these guys. There's just a lot of things that don't rattle them. The common denominator with all competitors is the same; they can live in a gutter, yet still get it done. That's how determined they are."

IMO SPENCER got a bad wrap,for a guy who was just seconds away from going for that 4 natty! Fought thru all the knee problems,only to say excuses are for wousies!wousies Even after his devastating ncaa lose,he told everyone they should be talking to the guy that won! The shit talking about his moms,devastation of his loss,just crazy! To persever even when it didn't look like he was going to,just to get a chance to qualify the weight,against some of the world'sbest! The run he made just to get the chance to fulfill his childhood dream! Gillman said it best,when they were both Hawks, that Spencer F- ing Lee! He stays healthy,im convinced he's bringing home GOLD! Can only imagine how much training with Spencer for 6 months is going to propel Drake Ayla career! GO HAWKS!!!
When is the final match to see if he wins this event?
I wonder if he's going to wrestle in the final. Seems like nothing to gain at this point for anyone in the finals.

There is no final. Both finalists qualify with no 1-2 final match.
