Almost a month, I don't have a problem not drinking at family stuff, it was when I got home every night, and I look forward to feeling good and getting up earlier and not wasting my Holiday!
Just had our family thanksgiving and was so happy that I decided not to drink and instead supported my oldest son who is trying to stay sober. We drank water and coffee instead. It was wonderful! Didn’t miss a thing and it helped me to keep my mouth shut when I probably would’ve said some regrettable things if I was drinking!

I won't be tempted to drink tomorrow on Thanksgiving as I'll be alone. Most of my family has passed away, the little bit of family I have left went to the Carolinas for Thanksgiving. I've been sober for almost 30 days now. Feel so much better. I've also hit my weight loss goal so I'm going to splurge with a Pepsi and some pie tomorrow - I have cut out sweets as well as alcohol - but again I'm going to splurge on those tomorrow while I watch the football games. Now, the big temptation comes this Saturday. I sing for a rock and roll band and I'll be playing in a bar - I'll be surrounded by band mates, and patrons of the bar that all drink and in the past I have drank right along with them. I'm sure they're all going to be shocked when I'm just knocking back my water as I'm performing - I'm not breaking though - this sobriety just feels too good. I'm loving this 7-8 hours of sleep every night with no hangover and nausea the next day! Happy Thanksgiving all, thank you Jae!

Reaching the two month sober mark soon and I feel amazing. I’d say getting sober at 25 is a learning experience, especially when everyone around you drinks alcohol to celebrate, but I often tell myself “if this were easy, everyone would be doing it”. I think the thing that’s been helping me is filling the time I would use for drinking with new experiences and finding ways to enhance my mind and body rather than set them back. Watching videos and channels like this one keep the vision fresh in your mind and always reminding myself that it’s a day by day process rather than a “sprint”. Sobriety is definitely an amazing gift to give to myself this year and years to come.

@@GettingSoberAgain Thanks :) I feel like the brain fog has diminished drastically. 30 days today, thank you Jae and the sober ellipsis community for helping me along the way! Tho family and holidays are a big trigger for me I’m finding if I ignore 6-9pm Eric the other 21 hour Eric is grateful so gonna stick to that. 1 hour of booze isn’t worth losing days of bliss.
I've been sober for three months. These coming Christmas holidays will be the first without alcohol for me. I wonder how I will be able to deal with almost all my family and friends boozing and inviting me to do the same. I am a little bit worried, but at the same time, I am highly motivated to keep myself sober, and I am very proud of it. My best wishes to the whole sobriety community from Spain.

Wow 42 you look nothing near it…love your channel… love your words of wisdom…My pops passed away and trust me i know why it happened…Sadly im fighting the alcoholic desire as well as my father did💔 hope to make it to sobriety soon …i’m fighting and you help so much…THANK YOU ❤
Welcome my friend! RIP to our big poppas! Hang in there, make more better decisions than worse decisions, aim to improve at least 1% each day, create new healthy habits, be persistent, and be patient with yourself while you transition to a new life!
I'll make this one short. I am thankful that this winter I am not depressed overly. Divorced 15 years ago and tried to get "happy" by drinking with winters being the most depressing. Figured out alcohol was my sad partner, hectic work and people during the holidays is enough to tire me without booze to sleep.
I’ve been watching your videos all morning because I needed to stop burying my head in the sand and face up that I need to be sober. Setting my date the day before Thanksgiving seems challenging but is one I am up for. I hope to revisit my old hobby of sketching in a sketchbook. I’m excited for sober holiday season. Thank you for the videos.
So much perspective and insight in this video. I’m grateful that I am capable of feeling gratitude again. Not numbing myself against negative emotions and thoughts has allowed me to start feeling and appreciating the positive ones again.
Been “taking a break” this week after a week of binging on tour. Just like every time, all it takes is a few days without to realize that I should just cut it out period. Was debating whether to let go on Thanksgiving, but I think this strengthened my resolve to go without. The holidays kept me from staying sober last year. This one will be different. 💪
Thank you for this video. I wanted to cut it off so many times b/c I’m drinking at the moment and felt guilty, but my drive to quit and your compelling narrative kept me listening. Thank you. 🙏🏽 I plan on quitting today
Sobriety is a journey. There will be many days that you're gonna want to pack it up and go back to the old toxic haunts that you're familiar with. There's no sense in celebrating the ghosts of your past. It's time to ascend to your HIGHER PURPOSE! (and be patient lol)
49 days sober! A snowstorm kept us home from joining family for Thanksgiving, however, I feel by building up my "sober muscles," I could have handled the pressure. What I have found, that's interesting in the last 49 days, is that I am the catalyst for my husband having a drink every night. His consumption of alcohol has drastically been reduced because I am not initiating happy hour. Geez, who knew? Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you again for this channel.
I'm in "Remember November"😅...alcohol does absolutely effect brain cells, brain health, brain function, and memory. I'm " ... ", November 1st. So, November 30th will be 30 days. I like hearing those empowering replies to people who want us to partake with them.

So far I’m sticking to my plan and staying alcohol free this holiday season. I’m over 90 days without alcohol and I feel great! No hangovers, no shame or guilt or anxiety at 3 in the morning… wake up and I’m not wondering what the heck I did last night! It feels good to have energy and a good night of rest instead of panic attacks!
Wonderful video! Marie again from England! I am also praying to God to give me strength on my sober journey to become my higher self!❤❤❤Love to all those struggling. Be persistent and you will get there too!❤❤❤
I did 100 days sober this year, started on Feb.1. This channel definitely got me through the times when I was craving alcohol, or just wanted to learn why I was drinking... and the harmful effects it was causing on my physical and mental health. And then... thinking I could "control" it in June, I drank way too much and became an embarrassment one evening on a beach vacation with my family. Took another month "off" in August, then dabbled in the drink again in September and October. Of course, the bad sleeping habits came back, and the "oh, I'm only going to have 1 glass of wine"... then wake up the next day, and the whole bottle was gone. So I made a deal with myself to do another 100 days starting Nov. 1, mainly because it is the holidays. This was my first Thanksgiving without alcohol around my family, and it was actually great! My sister even chose not to drink with me, then I got a very nice text message afterwards saying she was soooo proud of me for doing the sober lifestyle and bettering myself. So I just want to THANK YOU Jae, and this channel and community for being the best motivation to stay sober. You have been an inspiration to me. Cheers to bettering our selves in 2024!
I love your videos. They help me…and they help me to help others! I’m thankful for that. 142 days today and I’m looking forward to a sober Thanksgiving and many more. Happy Holidays! 💪🏻💙🌈
For me, as a proud Vancouverite & huge Glee fan, I was pretty broken when Cory Monteith lost his life to addiction. Sometimes if I think about him too long, I feel incredibly sad that he left this world, all by himself. Breaks my effing heart. I often felt I couldn't be "relaxed" enough to do my thing so I would drink. But as I acknowledge my struggle with alcoholism, I realise now that I did LESS creatively then when I was a sober sally. I'm excited to see what we're going to create, sober, moving forward. (Fun fact - Walt Disney didn't want alcohol in Disneyland, because he didn't want his park to be a place where parents needed alcohol to get by with their kids. And he didn't want to set a bad example for children. . Extra fun fact! He was ashamed of his cigarette problem, and didn't want to set a bad example, that he made sure never to have photos of him smoking publicly. So far as having photos with his cigarette "photoshopped" out. Like. This was in the 20s!) Next! Sober celebrities that inspire me are Eminem, Steve-O, Zac Efron... ...and most importantly, Jae ❤😊 Find us creatively on IG at @undercoverdisney.yvr and our Aquired Brain injury survivor story @brainaflame 🙏❤️
The notion that numbing our brains will somehow generate increased creativity is one I had to get over as well. Its actually the opposite but the whiskey-soaked "tortured artists" we idolize make it hard to see the truth.
Thanks for another great video! I’m spending Thanksgiving in Moorhead, Minnesota with my son, he’s a college football player here and he had surgery this week for a season-ending shoulder injury. I didn’t want him to go through all that alone, so we will be watching football at my Air BNB and eating frozen turkey dinners together today! I’m thankful to be 70+ days alcohol free, and I’m grateful I can set a better example for him, in years past there would be a six-pack in the fridge and I’d be drunk by the time we ate the pumpkin pie after dinner. I love your videos and I really needed this video today. Thanks Jae!
Heya from Zimbabwe. Day 10 here. I am grateful for God's grace. Lost my dad last year at 72. Used booze to medicate until my body gave me a wake up call. Been on and off the booze for over a decade now but somehow I am still relatively intact. Thank God.
I am so grateful to God that I still have my brother and sister who were victims of traumatic acts of violence by people under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
102 days sober this Thanksgiving. I started out with one month in mind, but I just kept going. I feel so much better both physically and emotionally. I feel like I'm alive again. Thank you for all the awesome videos. If I recall, I just happened upon them, and I'm glad I did. Happy holidays everyone!
Thursday was my first Thanksgiving sober. It wasn't easy not to drink, but it was really rewarding not to pass out from being drunk. I got to spend the whole day with my family this Thanksgiving.
Hi Jae Love your channel! I have been alcohol free for 17 months. I just got back from the US for a wedding and birthday. We live in the Philippines at the moment. I come from a family of heavy drinkers but I don't make an issue of my soberity so it just doesn't matter. Also try drinking a mock tail. I'm grateful to be alive at 57 with advanced heart disease. I wasn't suppose to be alive now so I'm prepared to go any day. I'm very thankful for any day that I can get out of bed I'm thankful for being able to travel and having a great partner to share these precious last days with. Happy Holidays!!
Where in the Philippines??! my family lives in Batac, waaaaaaaaay up north! Count these 17 months as a blessing! Just think, you may not even be here NOW to comment if you hadn't made this decision. We just had someone comment on the video saying they came off all BP meds. You deserve the opportunity to continue making these FOREVER MEMORIES! Bless you friend!
Thank you for reminding me of all that there is to be grateful for. It is March so the holidays are months away and sobriety is one day at a time for me now. I have come to realize that alcohol does not benefit me , is a waste of money and the cause of my health problems which I never admitted to myself before so I am making progress.
Just put the Turkey on the smoker and was thinking about how I'm going to miss having some drinks today , this video is what I needed to stay on track to sobriety. Thank you for what you do
Happy holidays gang! Hope everyone is keeping busy working on being your best self, staying grateful, and thinking happy thoughts. Don't lounge around guys, let everyone have their fun, and keep it moving, idle hands can be the devil's playground so don't give em any room to play 🙏🏿✌🏿❤️
So I am now 70 days in. I quit both Weed and Booze at the same time Cold Turkey after consuming daily for over 25 years. This was my first Holiday Season sober since I was quite young. Guess what? It was a fun Holiday Season, even with a little left to go. Some family members were a little irritated because they lost their party buddy, however I was not silent. I was full of laughter and involved in conversation. I was actually the Designated Driver home last night. During the drive home I noticed something..... My Night Vision was so much better. It was like going from a TV in the 1990's to 4K. I had heard about the effects of booze on Night Vision, but now I know its true.
This will be the first holiday in many years that I will be sober. 74 days sober today. Every day is better than the last day. I feel better physically and mentally. Went food shopping and didn’t buy any liquor for anyone. My bill was smaller than it ever has been. It’s bring your own beverage from now on.
Thanks for all the comments. They help, and the videos are great. I’m 8 days sober now and Christmas is now only 3 days away. I’m frankly worried about how to get through until January 2nd, when most of the people I love will be drinking. FOMO is very real for me, so I’m not sure how I’ll manage, but I’m determined to make it happen. I figure that if I can get through the holidays, and 2 straight weeks of not drinking, it’ll be a great start.
You can do it buddy. Remember that alcohol doesn't add anything to your life, anything you can do drunk you can still do sober. Except get a hangover or make a drunken fool of yourself. I love waking up with no feelings of guilt or shame or panic... life is going to be better without alcohol, so please don't give up on yourself!
Hey jay! Back to day one after 10 days… however, I’m glad because it’s just strengthened my resolve that I want to be sober. This will be my first Sober Christmas.
You don't have to go back to day one unless you want to. The Jae method is to not put a number on that day and just call it an unlabeled. Then you start the count again the next day with the next highest number.
My boyfriend and I will be visiting my family in Canada for the holidays! We live in Europe and he's never been to Canada. I plan to watch Christmas movies and do karaoke while enjoying eggnog and cranberry ginger ale, two things we don't have where we live. First holiday season sober since I was below drinking age, but I'm far more excited than nervous!
Tomorrow, Thanksgiving, will be my day 10 of being sober…again. Thanks Jae, you hit home with many. Happy Thanksgiving to you and thanks for sharing your thankfulness.
I’ve been dealing with alcohol issues and went on a two day binge a few days ago and my wife basically uninvited me to her side of the family’s for Christmas so I will be with my parents side and staying at my parents home but sober but sadly messed up too close to Christmas and Holidays! Living the biggest regret especially when I was at mass this morning by myself.
Sober since Jan and going well. First Xmas season without drinking and the buzz that came with it . I will find another way to get jolly with the family . I do miss the initial buzz , but nothing else
Im grateful to be alive after a traumatic injury. I finally got the lesson through my (thankfully) thick skull that ive been given this great gift of life and the greater gift of having a second chance. Why would I waste that second chance of life being drunk all the time?
Thankfull for this video. Sometimes it seems I am the only one sober in the world then I put on your videos and I realize there are lots of sober cool people in the world. Have a great thanksgiving!!
That's specifically one of the points I'm trying to get across. People think that sober people are just cookie cutter boring folks. We will change those opinions one video at a time

SOBRIETY IS MINE AND IM NOT GIVING IT BACK!!!
Happy 30 days HOLIDAYS!!! 🦃
Congratulations on 30 days of sobriety. Keep up the good work.
what a great way to think about that
I've been sober for three months.
Be excited to practice standing your ground.
Be excited to practice sticking up for yourself.
Be excited to practice witnessing your own transformation.

Welcome my friend! RIP to our big poppas! Hang in there, make more better decisions than worse decisions, aim to improve at least 1% each day, create new healthy habits, be persistent, and be patient with yourself while you transition to a new life!
Keep on striving to improve yourself. If you fall down seven times. get back up eight times.
Taking a brisk walk during the brightest part of a cold, clear day is one of the best cures for the winter blues.
This will be my first Thanksgiving sober for as long as I can remember, I'm excited. God bless everyone on their sobriety journey and happy holidays!
Report back tomorrow with your positive progress report! 🫡
Congratulations to Jae's mom for surviving adversity and having a cheerful attitude in the present situation
Yay momma!
Thanks for hanging out and spending your time wisely! Don't forget to get the blood flowing and keep yourself busy!

I drank all my life and decided I had enough, I’ve been alcohol free for 3 months 2 days, I’m not looking back!
Sobriety is a precious prize. DO NOT GIVE IT BACK to the demon of bad habits.
So much perspective and insight in this video. I’m grateful that I am capable of feeling gratitude again. Not numbing myself against negative emotions and thoughts has allowed me to start feeling and appreciating the positive ones again.

Great speaker 💯 I do enjoy doing my house work as I really listen
Been “taking a break” this week after a week of binging on tour.
Just like every time, all it takes is a few days without to realize that I should just cut it out period. Was debating whether to let go on Thanksgiving, but I think this strengthened my resolve to go without.
The holidays kept me from staying sober last year. This one will be different. 💪
Are you coming to a city near me??? Cleveland 😉
No Midwest plans yet… 🙃… we are planning on playing Texas /OK/ the SW next year tho. (Closest we’re coming…) Still going strong, btw.. ✨

Keep up the good work, you’re doing great! Life really is so much better without alcohol!

Here's to a new year and new you!

Like. This was in the 20s!)
Next! Sober celebrities that inspire me are Eminem, Steve-O, Zac Efron...
...and most importantly, Jae ❤😊
Find us creatively on IG at @undercoverdisney.yvr and our Aquired Brain injury survivor story @brainaflame 🙏❤️
Thanks Jae!
Being there for others when we have the strength is a treasure! May you take this opportunity to make forever memories 🙏🙏🙏
I'm glad you were able to be there with your son to comfort and encourage him post--surgery.
Heya from Zimbabwe. Day 10 here.
I am grateful for God's grace.
Lost my dad last year at 72. Used booze to medicate until my body gave me a wake up call. Been on and off the booze for over a decade now but somehow I am still relatively intact.

Stick with it buddy!
This will be the first holiday in many years that I will be sober. 74 days sober today. Every day is better than the last day. I feel better physically and mentally. Went food shopping and didn’t buy any liquor for anyone. My bill was smaller than it ever has been. It’s bring your own beverage from now on.
Congrats on 74 days of sobriety. Keep up the good work. Keep that grocery store bill low by not buying booze for other people.
BYOB for the WIN!!!
