    Finally, a routine for actual beginners. I’ve tried to follow along with many so called beginner videos over the years. I couldn’t keep up and I’d be sore for a week or more after and I wouldn’t try to exercise again until the memory faded 😅. This routine is like starting from couch potato level. It’s perfect.

I've allowed my posture to slump . I don't need to lose weight. I feel encouraged, and I believe these 4 exercises are a good place to start ...!

    Pushing your lower back to the ground for reverse crunches..
    Pulling your elbows inward and squeeze your butt muscles for planks…
    Those are game changers for really activating the core! Thanks a lot for the help!

I'm hoping these ecercises will help to rebuild my core and eventually walk without the aid of a walker. I don't expect quick results as it taken a lifetime of bad habits to get here. When I searched 'core exercise' on TH-cam, every videos are about plank!!! Every time I try plank, my elbow was burned because of scratches to the ground, even if I have yoga mat under my elbows! I found the reason I feel pain at my elbow was 'I DO NOT HAVE ANY CORE MUSCLES!' I don't have any powers from my core so I only use my elbow to do plank! So I need any core exercise video for me which doesn't have plank. And this is it!!! I'm so happy to find this easy, helpful video. Thank you so much!!!

    I thought this was going to be quite tame but my abs are seriously aching after the kneeling plank! Never been told to try and drag my elbows down before. That certainly switched on muscles that had previously been asleep.

    For the last exercise, when squeezing my gluts, I can only feel my back thighs burning or shaking, instead of my core. What possible did I do wrong?

    • @WeShape

    This was super helpful! No matter how much I push my lower back down, there's still a bit of space. Is that something I should worry about?

    • @JenYangLim
      @JenYangLim 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It probably means you have weak core and an anterior pelvic tilt. By doing more exercise you should be able to slowly improve till you can push it all the way down. But then again, I am not an expert, and can only advise based on similar experiences. Best to consult your Physical Therapist. Though shouldn't be a problem if you dont suffer from pain, but again, consult an actual expert

    My biggest issue about core exercises is the dissociation of my lungs from the rest of these muscles. Each time that I tried doing even just hip bridges, when my therapist asks me to "brace your core", it's my entire belly that locks itself, even my lungs. Therefore, I couldn't lift my buttocks for even one millimeter without being on the verge of self-asphyxiation... I can't make any progress in any type of exercise (thankfully I can still walk and climb stairs up/down).
