This tune from the legend Udo Lindenberg honorary citizen from Hamburg, is the longest #1 hit in Germany of all time 30 weeks ‼ in the TOP 3 and 21 weeks on the #1 spot - mindblowing
Udo Lindenberg made many great songs. One of my favorites is (Wozu sind Kriege da)What are wars for. Which has become more important again since the war in Ukraine.
As it is already sad, Udo was/is legend in Germany. Like Reinhard Mey, Herbert Grönemeyer, Nina Hagen,... (you know some of them) So, Udo Lindenberg hat verbal fights with Erich Honecker (leader of the DDR) to do concerts in DDR. And wrote a song about that. Yeas ago!!!
Udo Lindenberg is a German phenomenon and perhaps not so graspable for other countries. He has been making music since the 1960s and was the first to play German-language rock music. By the way, “Udo Lindenberg x Apache 207” is not a band, Udo is basically a solo artist. “Komet” is simply one of the occasional duets he produces with other singers of different genres. Apache 207 is actually a rapper and also a solo artist. Incidentally, the Hotel Atlantic shown in the video was Udo's official residence for 26 years.
I will be at an Apache207 concert at the Uber Arena in Berlin tomorrow evening … Apache207 has striked us like a comet multiple times during the last years …
He's been around since the late 1960s, he used to be a drummer (he played the drums on the "Tatort" theme song among others); he went solo in the 1970s. He has much better songs than that, good songs and good lyrics, this Apache dude can't even sing. Years ago, in the early 1980s, they wouldn't allow him to play in East Germany; he then released a song "Sonderzug Nach Pankow" (Special Train to Pankow") to the tune of "Chattanooga Choo-Choo" about it and Erich Honecker, the president (or leader) of the GDR which was quite funny. Later, he met Honecker and was then allowed to play there. th-cam.com/video/1oKKwuIZzr8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=evTlmmMLLW5ZO8_6
The song has been played so often on the radio in Germany that I don't want to hear it anymore. I neither like Udo Lindenberg nor this autotune rapper. At least I respect Lindenberg for his artistic talent.
Fun Fact: Udo Lindenberg has been living as a 'permanent guest' in a suite at the luxurious Hotel Atlantic in Hamburg since 1995.
Udo is a Legened here in Germany 🖖💚🖖💚🖖!!!!!!
22 Weeks in Germany no. 1 in Music Charts !

Apache 207 is the biggest male artist in Germany at the moment
