I think this encounter is a brilliant one. I like how basically everything makes specific things very useful. I.e. sufficient interrupts 'cause of the casts and the use of lightwell 'cause of the confined space.
TB what was your group composition. I know of the rouge, you, and the pally. Also is there really a ideal group along with specs that would be optimal in this fight. This looks like one of those fights that you love to hate. Also can you line of sight the phase 2 transition? Me being a enhance shaman would make line of sight difficult. I wonder, do some people have memories like goldfish? If you've used TH-cam for any length of itme, how could you NOT understand the concept of 'it'll look better once it's fully processed'? I would like TH-cam to place a big, glowing red sign above all unprocessed videos that says 'MORONS, IT'S NOT FINISHED PROCESSING YET, COME BACK WHEN IT HAS'.
I don't really know if this is an idea or question, but if the casters stay up stairs, will they still get hit by the 'WTF-Psycho-Murder-Shaodw-AoE-thingy'? If not, that would make the battle way easier... right? >.>
did they buff the boss, besides the health? because i remember the last time I did this dungeon, we one shot this guy. I do know that I was using rebuke every chance I got though plus there was a rogue....we did get the achievement for not letting him heal himself though
That fight really looks like a healers worst nightmare, I can see this being quite a challenge for me to heal this once I get to that content on release. Druid DoTs may help a little, but I certainly can't match the AOE heals of your priest. =D
How does the scaling seem at 85 atm? Meaning the balance between damage dealt in X time and healing done in same time. Yes, I know the numbers aren't probably "finished" but asked anyways cuz I can.

we were mage, moonkin, warrior tank, priest heal and me as a rogue.. and we had some problems at the beginning but it wasn't to hard for us.. the key to the fight ist to kick the heals.. the aoe heal after 2 kicks so your tank is not dying form the next hit

@Alex2zl Except it's not, at all. Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal, plus hey we have no idea if you're even in the beta. It is not an easy boss, plenty of guilds and plenty of players no doubt better than yourself and me have wiped on it plenty and those are people who can string a sentence together and leave feedback on the beta forums, rather than the drooling masses which will scream for nerfs on this encounter.

cataclysm will mostly affect wotlk healers who won't be used to having to heal so much damage at once and having to manage the heroics which really are heroics so i dont think you will see brand new healers in heroic dungeons like you did in wotlk.

Let him heal more get yourselves above 20 percent, and yes he heals more but the fight is designed around it, and so steady let healer keep mana up no need to heal people fully just enough to survive

@Gorinrogue He refused because it would nerf his DPS too much. I switched to Frost to create the MS debuff because my dps would still be competitive.

Rogues should use wound poison on this fight, to give that mortal strike debuff the whole fight. Also, shadow resist might also help :)

Looks like we will need a Hunter, rogue and a warrior tank / bear tank to avoid oom of the DPS and tank.
