    I see a lot comments down here! I stand for old judo techniques. IJF decided to eliminate some techniques for safety, but they cut a lot from the beauty of the Judo as old school judo. Even if you go to a dojo, you'll not experienced a full training in old fashion judo school. When I was young, we used to train using ude gatame from standing position. Thank you for sharing this video. Oss.

    You see this technique in a lot of Aikido/Knife defense type videos and it looks like one of those techniques that works technically but is not very useful in actuality. Thank you for providing some context as what it can be used for and when it can work. It makes all the difference to have these techniques explained with a tactical/strategical context.

      Are used to live on Long Island But moved to North Carolina the jujitsu school I go to teaches a little bit of judo And I love it

    If they keep making techniques in judo illegal , much could be lost. Strangle holds and chokes are lethal techniques maybe next they will make them illegal, I hope not any ref should stop it before someone passed out if they don't tap out. But they are dangerous techniques just the same. Keep teaching them like this one please
