I love the fashion of the 60s and 70 s that's why I enjoy watching the show
Same here for real! Thats my style all day every day
Me too❤
this is the 1960’s
I used to watch this religiously in first run. Oh how I wanted to leave home! 1966 was sure a nice time to be alive.
I wanted to be "That Girl" when I was finally grown up. I'm still trying. My hero, she was.
Marlo Thomas is the cutest!
yes Marlo Thomas was beautiful, I have the That Girl doll, from season two, it's beautiful 😊
I used to want to be a single girl in NYC because of Anne Marie. Then, I wanted to have a boyfriend like Don Holinger.
Even though i was born in 2000s. I loved this show so much
I love the "empty" streets in those days!
I never tire of these adorable shows!!! Marlo is an incredible doll and an absolutely beautiful human being!!! “That Girl” forever!!! ❤️❤️❤️💐💐💐
Love these good clean shows ty for sharing
I know, they don't make them anymore. It's sad.
Never seen this show or the Dick Van Dyke show before this week, I rarely watch TV, but boy am I enjoying these shows. Plenty of shows to get through too.
That's so cool that these shows are new to you.
Enjoy!
WELL HOW OLD ARE YOU? @@bluecollarlit WHEN DID YOU SEE THAT GIRL?
I loved watching this show growing up, thank you for uploading!
What a wonderful actress she was! So natural!
Can you imagine what Ann's apartment would rent for today?
In season 2 ep17. "Fur All We Know" Ann said her rent was $88.43.
@@ciaartin2221 The inflation calculator has $88.43 in 1966 is the same buying power as $809.04 in Feb. 2023. Not taking into account any calculation for supply and demand, location, etc., a one bedroom apartment that size would be upward of four times as much.
I'd say $2,000 a month?
@@ukulelemikeleii probably +700.😵💫
@@ukulelemikeleii The average price for a studio is approx $3,100.00 a month. And a one bedroom is approximately $5,500.00 a month; dependent upon where in Manhattan (upper/lower,east/west).
This episode is so entertaining, Marlo Thomas as Ann Marie is terrific from the beginning to the end. The whole cast is terrific. That Girl is such a brilliant show, and we have Marlo Thomas to thank for all her creativity and hard work. I'm so glad I got to live and work in New York City, like Ann Marie.
I grew up as akid of the 60s but we were up in deep mountain valley and had no tv. So all these wonderful old shows are new to me thanks to UTube thakyou so much !!
Everyone got mouse in their house but Ann got hamster 🤣
Lord bless Marlo, newly widowed
@ladavidson9269 Until I saw your comment, I didn't know about Phil Donahue. May he RIP.
I remember when she met Phil on his show. He was smitten right from the start.
Love the payphone we need to go back to those. Love the 60, 70, and 80s would love to go back to those years . None of this crazy nonsense like today
Grew up watching this show. Love it so much! Thank you.
She is so darn cute. That's what cute looks like girls.
Where did That Girl get her energy....she's making me tired 😂
I've never seen this episode. I saw the meeting Donald one (premiere episode) and I've even seen the unaired pilot with Harold Gould as the father and Donald Bluesky (Bessell) as the agent, fiance ....
But I never saw this one in reruns. I was only 5 when this first aired.
You were 5, I was 8.
Found the show in reruns when I was 12.
The first time I discovered this show was 10 years ago on MeTV. I was 22 at the time. Although I did see several parodies and references of it before but never knew the real show or saw it until 2013. The first parody reference I saw was on The Simpsons when I was 9.
Even the music is light
Thank You for playing this fantastic show!!! It is so cute and lovely!! ❤❤❤❤...
This was never shown in the UK so enjoying watching now!
She is so beautiful
I would have been horrified if my parents showed up like this, but they did yet more subtle.
Ann’s parents, her father especially had no boundaries!
@@mariahyohannesNeither did mine & they never developed them.
Marlo was so adorable.
That wasn't a mouse. It was a hamster. 😂😂😂
Women still wore Gloves !! Today they wear TATTOOS!
I love me some Lou Marie! 😂❤
from 20:00 onwards, the Ann Marie and Mom & Dad dialogue was exquisite - so charming, cute, and sincere ... "of course you think of me as a child, you always will and I love it, it's just I don't want you to treat me like one "
$50 today (July 2023) is $466.53. Not only has the cost of living gone up, $466.53 likely would get her a UBER to McDonald's and back including the meal. Ann got a $2.33 tip which is common for cheapskates today outside of New York
$1.000.00
Her father Lou is so funny!!!! Don is just great!!! 😂😂😂😂...
We enjoyed the show so much as young girls. I do remember that the first two seasons were the best. In the last few seasons, the eyelashes and hair got a bit exaggerated and the comedy a bit forced. But those first two seasons were so much fun and well-done!!
I always liked the opening with the birds and Eskimos. I wondered who did the crayon drawings and animation for those opening pictures with the birds and Eskimos
I DON'T KNOW I WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD IN 1966 🐦
@@MARILYNNEWTONGIBB I was born many years after That Girl ended
You see these old films of New York and what a great city it was…..and so sad to see the crap hole it has become.
Especially when they throw you out!😂
NYC sure has changed in 60 years 😞
Yeah, no more peep shows and porn theaters in Times Square.
And more addicted zombies ☹️
Ha ha good show
I didn’t notice a lock on the door
I love how Drescher copied "that girl"in The Nanny episode. Hilarious!
Hah! It’s not a mouse, they used a hamster.
Yes I can bet the rents were big back then like now in New York. Thanks Debbie Pierce
They broadcast ep 1 and ep 2 out of order.
I just realized there are no locks on the door! In The big Apple ! Really it’s a hamster not a mouse!
MAYBE NEW YORK CITY WAS SAFE IN 1966
No, it was not.
Crime was high in the 1960s and 70s, particularly in New York and other big cities.
How did this shoa do when it first came out ? Anyone??? I saw it in reruns when I was a little kid.
That was a hamster, not a mouse!
I noticed there’s no lock on her front door.
That “mouse” was a hamster 🐹
Did it drive anyone else batty when this was on that her last name (Marie) sounded like it was her middle name?
Can you imagine what that APARTMENT would rent for today?
Probably a coffee shop waitress and a chef could afford it if they roomed together.
(Alternative title) Goodbye hometown, hello new york
This is what Dylan Mulvaney is copying. That girl and that show.
Omg u are right . I didt notice that 😂🥲
That Girl was very first one woman show ever before Mary Tyler Moore series.
@@piccadilyroad66 I KNOW THAT THAT GIRL WAS 1966 AND MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW WAS LATER IN 1970
Enjoy yourself
Before Donald entered the picture.
So...MTM is worshipped as a 'young, upward female' as she 'conquers' Minneapolis- yet, a million Ann Marie's are still trying to conquer NYC, and a lot closer to being actually young, than MTM was... and she did it 5 years earlier...who was the female pioneer? Actually, I would rather 'conquer' NYC than Minneapolis any day. Plus, Don was such a honey...
I was never a fan of Lew Parker because he was such a sourpuss, but I love "That Girl".
They used a hamster for a mouse.
She's taking a train to go 40 miles🤔🤷😵💫
Yes, that's common in the surrounding areas of New York City. People commute that far just for work.
Mr. Marie was such an pessimist.
What a great old character actor he was and Rosemary DeCamp!
Was this show ever shown in the Uk?
That 'mouse' has no tail... ???
Stunt hamster
That’s what I thought ☺️
It's an Isle of Man mouse...
@@STho205 LOL!
Is a Hamster
Is this the same house set used in Happy Days -? Anyone know -?
NOT SURE IT LOOKS LIKE THE SAME
Doesn’t it makes sense to wear gloves ? Especially living in a big city.
Women often wore gloves when they went shopping /lunch/ church in the sixties .. including my mother.. more so on the East Coast.. I used to live in NYC
I want to nab Marlo Thomas just because she is the quintessential modern day hollywoods the one not just that girl but the true pgymalian. not accents hoodoo in that play but the whole image she only got bits with i know her dads nose but saying like thats showbiz. not her own father even. but she went thru all that the hair look everything n further as producer casting to plot lines within the network guidelines y love story cut it on college jeez. shes the hollywood episodic pgymalian to me. and so independent smart indefatigable and self pronounced i cant even my fair lady its too demeaning for her. Its what i grew up since landing here in america. nyc... hm.. i have my own.
ah a simpler more racist and sexist time yet under the romantic facade of wholesome exteriors.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
A grumpy liberal ?! But you guys seem to be winning the revolution ! Hee ho ho. 😮
