Ingredients:
1 cup dalia (broken wheat)
1/2 cup moong dal (split yellow lentils)
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 small carrot, chopped
1 small potato, diced(optional)
1/2 cup peas(optional)
1-inch piece of ginger, grated
2-3 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to your taste)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons oil or ghee
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions:
Rinse the dalia and moong dal separately under running water until the water runs clear. Soak them in water for about 15-20 minutes, then drain and set aside.
cooked the Dalia,dal,water and salt as per taste in a cooker with 1-2 whistles.
Heat oil or ghee in a pressure cooker or a deep pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onions, grated ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until onions turn translucent.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become mushy.
Add chopped vegetables (carrot, potato, peas) and sauté for a couple of minutes.
Now, add the cooked dalia and moong dal to the cooker or pan. Stir well
Add turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and salt to taste. Mix everything well.
Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon juice on top, if desired.
