The U.S. Consumer is now past point of no return with credit card balances ballooning past $1 trillion dollars while BOTH the personal savings rate fall and the unemployment rate rise. Wall Street has bought heavy protection. And it isn't with retail strategies like SPY Puts or Inverse ETFs.

Housing prices are unlikely to significantly decrease until there's a substantial increase in housing supply. In the USA , there's a shortage of millions of housing units, and construction isn't keeping pace. The constant demand for housing, coupled with population growth, means that even a slight price drop attracts numerous buyers who quickly absorb the available supply. I'm considering purchasing affordable houses in 2024 and possibly venturing into stock investments. When is the best time to enter the stock market? Some people say it is profitable , but others say it's risky. Any advice?

      @VictorBiggerstaff 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Consider buying stocks when the economy is not doing well, like during a recession. It could be a chance to buy them at a lower price and sell later when prices go up. Just keep in mind, this isn't financial advice, but sometimes it's better than keeping a lot of cash.

Honestly, I'm unsure if investing is a wise move right now. Take note of how frequently things fail. As I still have some time before I retire, I'm still looking for a better strategy to invest my money despite reading charts and predictions from well-known investors from the past and present. In order to generate passive income, I want to build a solid and reliable portfolio.

The outstanding catch-up measures currently in place are unquestionably due to the Fed, as they were first too sluggish to contain inflation. The epidemic, supply-chain concerns, and the situation in Ukraine are all factors in the looming perfect storm of inflation. Not to mention the sharp increase in housing expenses, another factor that makes it challenging for the Fed to control inflation. To sum up, if you have the cash, get rid of it right away to benefit from the high savings rate.

The media is currently barraged with a lot of economic data right now. It takes a lot to see beyond the whole ocean of news on focus on what is important, which is that no matter how low stocks go, they always bounce back. I really ignore all the news and keep investing. I recently allocated about $121k to put in the market as we anticipate a crash. Any recommendations?

Be careful not to jump into trading without any proper training because it can be very detrimental. Many folks jump into trading only to suffer great loss at the very beginning. Do not try to imitate advice you get on the internet. Better still, ask questions. Get the services of a professional stock expert or a licensed broker.

I'd argue that the reason major institutions have a lot of their money in bonds is their low risk but also because if the Fed is done raising interest rates, the bonds prices are essentially bottoming so it's the best time to buy bonds in a very long time. When rates start going down eventually the rate of return of the bonds if they decide to sell will be great and the safe cash flow for investors (who are major pensions and sovereign funds etc.) is too good to pass up.

With the yield curve inverted a very hard landing is the only way to make bonds attractive. Right now you’re way better off just getting a money market account. Even at 3% Fed Funds, there isn’t a whole lot of room
for bonds to rally assuming a normalized yield curve slope.

I'm curious what and how it'll look like when it's mostly centered on consumer loans. Credit cards and auto loans, not primary residence mortgages like 2008, are where the consumer difficulty is centered, at least as it pertains to balances, rates and monthly obligations and to say nothing of income and non-debt expenditures. Wave of chapter 11 bankruptcies? Repossessions of cars and pain for automakers? More government intervention in the form of eviction moratoriums that buy voter support and harm landlords? I'm curious what dominoes fall and in what order.

Bonds are also going to benefit from a soft landing. Why? Because if inflation falls, yields become more desirable. AKA, bonds are going to be bought in mass. And their price will appreciate, at the same time, has securing a high yield in a low inflation environment. Of course, stocks will benefit more.

I recommend diversifying your investments by considering stocks alongside real estate. During a recession, there are potential buying opportunities in the stock market if approached cautiously. Additionally, market volatility can offer short-term buying and selling opportunities. However, please note that this is not financial advice. It's important to be proactive in investing as cash may not be the most advantageous option during these times.

The 2008 recession was made official in Dec 2008, 6 months before it was done. They're always late to call the recession. They go and review the numbers and revise them, sometimes a full year after the initial release.
When money starts to flow into commodities, this will be inflationary. If we have a particularly nasty recession, it might take many years to recover, especially if we have waves of inflation like we did in the 70s. If we have a nasty recession, tax revenue drops and the government debt spiral accelerates. A debt spiral will make bonds worthless, and money will flow out of bonds and into the only other top tier protective asset, precious metals.
The quickest way to recover from a recession is to drop rates to even lower than they were previous to the recession. We have been doing that since 2001 to speed up the recovery process, but that's no longer possible since rates were previously at rock bottom.
We can cut jobs and pretend that we've killed inflation, but if the price of oil, grains, soy beans, wood and steel are rising, then we're going to be in a very, very bad position.
    Stagflation.

My only issue with this is that if wall street is positioned for a hard landing, and wall street controls most of the money, doesn't this make this a contrarian indicator since they have already positioned for this? Market is always forward looking, partly because investors make moves in anticipation of what they expect. Unless the argument here is that we're only in the beginning of this portfolio reallocation. For the markets to tank, something has to happen that isn't expected - rates moving higher again and above the recent highs, hard landing turns out to be worst than the current expectation of hard landing, etc.

The US-Stock Market had been on it’s longest bull-run in history, so the mass hysteria and panic is relatable considering we’re not accustomed to such troubled markets, but there are avenues lurking around if you know where to look I’ve netted over $450k in the past 10months.

*@sofiakhalida8106* I've been thinking about going that route. I have a lot of stocks that I have maintained, but they are beginning to lose value, so I'm not sure if I should hold onto them or sell them. I feel hiring your investment coach would make it easier to restructure my portfolio.

The adviser I'm in touch with is Camille Alicia Garcia, she works with Merrill, Pierce, Smith incorporated and interviewed on CNBC Television. You can use something else, for me her strategy works hence my result. she provides entry and exit point for the securities I focus on.

Thank you for the video. I just don’t know what to believe anymore. You’re saying a hard recession is coming and everything out there is pointing to the S&P reaching 5,000 in 2024 and a booming economy and housing market booming again! Everyone is saying inflation is over rate cuts are coming and people still have tons of saved money. I don’t see how you can be right considering everything points towards huge growth and a bull market run in 2024

3 weeks ago if you have muted your fear speech you would have made 5% on SpY.

Larry, navigating finance using basic theories never ends well. The timing is evasive because variables that are unknown always exist. I agree with you but your presentation if introduced last February would have a recession landing last quarter. Buffet pearls " the market can remain irrational longer than you solvent". The sp is up double digits and likely until years end. Many didactic prophesies end in people being confused and buying ETF's exiting the market or shorting at the nadir not the apex. I agree with your thesis but again specifics of timing trumps all.

Numerology says 2024 is an 8 year which means gaining and losing lots of money. If that's an indication I suspect we go higher for the first 3 months and then crash after the election.

This guy does realize March 2009 was the very bottom of the stock market right?

The market has gone up 4% since you put out this video two weeks ago. As soon as interest rate reductions get closer (still months away)the easy, safe money in bonds and money markets will dry up and all that parked money will flow back into the stock market. Go ahead and sit on the sidelines waiting for that mythical recession to finally appear. Fear doesn't just kill the mind, it'll kill your wallet too.
