Bought this amp years ago and let it sit in the corner, while I played it's big brother Orange Crush 60. Lately, though, I've been bringing it out more and more because I discovered, wow, this little guy really packs a punch. Playing my single coil Strats or Tele's I need to dial back the mids and highs quite a bit, but with humbuckers the MG15 absolutely comes to life. And, yes, it takes pedals very well. In fact, I much prefer keeping it on the clean channel and adding drive with pedals. My 335 sounds so good, I almost forgot about my other amp.
Love this cat! It's extremely obvious that this guy's passion dial is continually set on 11. Can't believe he doesn't have more subs. I just saw this bc one of these popped up on Craig's List for $40 and didn't know if it was worth it. I guess it is.
I've done many a gig with mine. I lined out to a Crate combo of similar wattage for 30 watts of transistor POWER. Marshal! has an 8" generic upper mid&treble speaker; the Crate has a 10' similarly voiced speaker. many weeknights were covered with that exact rig with no mic' ing. Weekends could be mic'd for louder shows but I'd usually jusy add a 2-12, a 4-12 or both. I love Tubes, but come on man transistors(not 'puters) can get the job done. I'm a musician not a collector. I need to feed my families. I need get, keep, and play all paying gigs. Two or Three transistor combo amps WILL do the job.
I have one. I dont like the sound very much. Its pretty good in terms of sounding good even when its really quiet. I think the pre amp section of it is GOOD but the stock 8” holds it back, I think. The gain is quite nice but it just has a cheap sound
I LOOOOVE the way you adapt to the sloppy drums, man! I mean it! Instant fan, brother!! Or, do I have that backwards? TH-cam banned commnt, too conflicted.
ciao ho un vecchio mg15 cdr quello solo col riverbero. fatto il tuo stesso esperimento con un g12t-75. confermo un ottimo sound, lo sto usando su dei miei dischi che sto producendo.
Alberto, Greetings from Augusta, Georgia, USA. My name is Wayneo. I just bought this Marshall MG 15 Gold. I'm a beginner so I really don't know what I'm doing yet. I also have a Spark. Just wondering, do you give online lessons as well? Because this would be really cool. Would love to hangout and jam online. I'm more of a Blues guy than Metal, but it's all Blues if my ears don't fail me. You play really well. I have FaceTime so I very much would like to learn from you,,, Wayneo
I bought a Used Dean Custom 350 2 weeks ago. The guy gave me a Mg15 cdr with the guitar for free. just adds spring reverb to a mg 15. I hooked it up. And surprising how nice a little amp sounds. No effects all tone
Hey so I got the Marshall MG15GFX 15W amp and it came today and the guitar wire is to small like it goes in but wiggles and come out easily and it doesn’t make a sound. But I can hear the amp make that sound when you turn it on I was wondering what type of wire do I need?
My grandparents got me a Jackson one year this the next year and a Duncan distortion after that I love all of them I play daily had to get a boss ds-1 for the distortion hate the gain on this amp
I think it’s different options. One model has reverb, one model has more sounds/effects, and the one doesn’t have effects at all, just bass, middle and treble.
hello, love the video. I want to buy this used at the local pawn shop and I noticed when I turn it off, it's the older version the same in the video, it makes a popping crackle noise. Could this be fixed with some contact cleaner ya think? or is it a common issue with Marshall power switches? anyone? thanks ahead of time!
Are you saying that people should consider upgrading the speaker in this one to a Celestion G12, that costs pretty much the same as the entire amp? And then you're in the price range of a Boss Katana or similar...
Not really, I'm saying if you ALREADY have a cabinet lying around, you might wanna consider doing this mod that Will cost you next to nothing (if you can use a soldering iron of course)
Sold it many years ago and I still regret... but you know this story!

Dimebag Darrell has been reincarnated as an Italian guy.
Remember to stay cheap ❤
always!
I just learned about an amp from Captain Caveman.
Thanks!
That tone from the strat was unreal.
Nice!! Have you also tried changing the internal speaker, too?
I replaced the cheap speaker with a Celestion to make it a real Marshall.

I don't know which one is the best, but I play Origin 50 with PREAMP on full, to give me tube distortion... and spring Reverb is cool too

Get a metal zone
What difference is there between the Mg15, the Mg15GR, and the Mg15r if any?
I think it’s different options. One model has reverb, one model has more sounds/effects, and the one doesn’t have effects at all, just bass, middle and treble.
MG15 has no fx / MG15R has reverb / MG15FX has effects.
How do I connect aux and play music through my phone ?????
You need an quarter inch to aux adapter
so how do you make this mod?
you are the best
Is it loud enough to play next to drums?
Eh.. It might be a bit of a stretch, but you can try the 30w or even Better the 50w versions.
最高!😊
The Kids Aren't Alright - The Offspring?
AHAHAHAHAH omg I didn't notice until now, good ear
well...duh any decent solid state amp is going to sound fine through a 212 or 412 cabinet...
What Is reaper?
Is it a software?
Reaper is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), like Cubase or Pro Tools

Mine does the same, yes you can try cleaning the contacts, i would suggest you disassembling the amp for a good cleaning since it's really easy to do!
Doesn't it matter what kind of gig? I mean if it powers a 2x12? I bet it could do many many gigs
