Andy Cole was a lethal finisher baring down on goal, one of the club's finest ever and the Premier League's best ever strikers. Loved this ManU squad of the late 1990s.

nah he'd already met Posh by now and they'd been dating nearly a year. this was january 4 1998, he had met her the year before in early 97.
Three weeks to the day after this match, he and Posh announced their engagement in a preposterous photo shoot together in London, with them showing off their rings to the press and a horde of photographers, etc.
Meeting Posh was the end of Beckham, dedicated professional.
He was still great, but i believe he could have been better, in football terms, without her and all her celebrity pr people etc etc.
It was such a distraction, even if it only distracted him, say, 2%, that is still more than enough for you to be great, but to keep you from your full potential.

      @dogs aren't dangerous
      Nonsense to you.
      Learn to read.
I never said he was not a major part of our double and treble winning teams. Of course he was.
I never said he did not have the best right foot ever to take a cross or a dead ball.
      Learn to read.
      This is what I said:
"He was still great, but i believe he could have been better, in football terms, without her and all her celebrity pr people etc etc.
It was such a distraction, even if it only distracted him, say, 2%, that is still more than enough for you to be great, but to keep you from your full potential."
I believe all the Posh/PR, driving all the way to and fro from London half the time, and all the rest of that BS kept him from his *FULL POTENTIAL*
I *believe* he could have been even BETTER than he already *WAS*, had he remained the same *TOTALLY* dedicated professional he was before he met her.
Just that *SLIGHT* let down in effort, is enough to keep a GREAT footballer from becoming even better. Fact is, Fergie shipped Becks out at only *28* years of age, when he had already peaked and was starting to decline...and replaced him with a young phenom from Portugal who became arguably the greatest player in history.
People like you need to take a breath and go back to remedial reading class.

Keane was injured in October out for the season, Giggs and Schmeichel were missing in the last two months. That's the main reason they didn't win the league that season. But United did manage to win every big trophy the next season. The Treble 🏆

Not giving the new manager whoever he may be the same time and patience as the previous manager who also struggled in his first year in charge but went on to become best manager we have ever seen

My feeling is that... van Gaal was probably the only who could do be doing better if given more time. You always had a feeling United were too big for Moyes who didn’t have the ego to handle it, and clubs like Everton or West Ham or Sunderland were probably better for him. Mourinho might still be brilliant tactically but overall maybe past his prime for some reason, like he’s lost his mojo or something. And I think the Pogba issue had something to do with it too.
