My Go-To Vacuum For Cleaning Construction

  • This RIDGID wet dry vac really sucks, but in a good way.
It has a 6.5 horsepower engine and holds 16 gallons and there’s a small bag to store the attachments, or a small dog.
I just used it with a Honda Generator to vacuum out the spray booth pit at the warehouse we’re building.
You can see it sucks up the large rocks and debris with no trouble at all.
This is not a sponsored ad- - I’m not even sure they make this model anymore, but I love RIDGID vacs.
Before I found these, I went through a different vacuum about every house we built.
Since then, I’ve owned 2 RIDGID vacs in 15 years.
The filters are super easy to change, and they have a bunch of options.
This vacuum is stable and doesn’t tip over like some of them.
Here I used it for wet vacuuming on a house that wasn’t completely dried in yet.
I put in a wet foam filter, and it easily sucked up the water.
It has this valve to let the water out, then you’re back to work.
As a general contractor I spend a lot of time cleaning- this makes my job easier. ‪@hausplans‬

I'll have to give it to you I don't think I've ever met a gc that does anything labor wise especially cleaning so my hats off to you for still getting in there and getting dirty

Thank you, we do a lot. Maybe sometimes too much! I’ve always felt the best way to lead people is to get in there and help them. I would not want to work for someone who thought they were above manuel work themselves.

@hausplans me being one of those workers I agree i always thought and would do more for gcs that was willing to get in and help instead of just standing there watching it ment a lot more when they were willing to get dirty also

Those are great vacuums. I like to use the fine dust filter bag, not for rocks though. Also, you can get a pool filter sock thing that goes over the main filter to help keep it cleaner longer. Good work bro

But what about rugs that are really wet that you can't take out side ?
I can't get these rug cleaning companies that bring the truck to your house to do a rug I have because they only use hot water that's what they're telling me and this rug I have can only use cold water

    One horsepower equals 745 watts.
A 15 amp service will provide 1800 watts. 21/2 hp. Thhhhhankyou.
