Major Colorado Blizzard, March 13th, 2019 - Colorado Springs

A historic blizzard impacted Colorado today, bringing hurricane-force winds that broke the record highest wind gust recorded at COS airport at 97mph! Heavy blowing snow made travel conditions treacherous and at times reducing visibility to zero. A 50+ car pileup occurred on I-25 and the interstate is closed both directions, as are many other roads and highways across the state. Trees are down across the city and reports are that 1100 people were stranded at one point. Footage here was captured in downtown Colorado Springs and into the northeast side of the city.
