    I've had high blood pressure for all of my life and did my best to cut out salt because that's what everyone recommended. My blood pressure never went down. Then, for an unrelated reason, I went on the keto diet and my blood pressure plummeted to normal levels, even as I started to add more salt back into my diet. Dr. Berg's information has been a life changer in my understanding of nutrition.

    My doctor tried to get me to take diuretics for my high BP and I refused knowing that it would deplete me of potassium. My potassium level was teetering on the low side anyway and I refused the prescription. When I asked about potassium pills she told me that potassium was dangerous! I knew better and immediately ordered Dr Bergs electrolyte drink mix. And my BP started dropping almost immediately. Went on Keto, lost 12 pounds within 6 weeks. His advice is lifesaving.

At nearly 69 years old I’ve never had a blood pressure problem until recently. Now, where I routinely take 5000 mg of potassium in divided doses throughout the day, I have no problems. Sodium is difficult to measure (2300 mg) since it’s so prevalent but in the normal course of my days if I take less than 5000 mg K+, I do have elevated blood pressure. I had to remind my alternative doctor (that I do EDTA chelation therapy with) of the sodium potassium pump! Thank you for all you do! 💖🙋‍♀️🇨🇱

    *_I do eat a very salty meal(10g-15g)from time to time, as a treat. I do not fully believe I am one of those who should eat 10g/day; there's enough people online that claim the 5g is too little and they have had the same positive reactions I have had on taking 10-15g/day. Odd thing is, I don't get really thirsty from 10-15g salt, I want some more water, but not twice as much as usual?_*

    I hope people don’t take the info in this video out of context. Our bodies need salt but the key is to balance it out with potassium. You still don’t want to exceed the daily recommended salt amount which is what a lot of Americans do. Too much salt can cause or worsen cardiovascular, bone and neurological diseases.

    I love mineral sparkling water. It is sold everywhere and it is cheap, and comes in huge assortment here in Russia. Most of it is a natural mineralization water from deep underground sources. Also you can pick water with correct amount of ions for you if having a deficiency. No sugar, no flavorings just water😂

      Wow, that sounds like my dream! I LOVE sparkling water but where I live (Montreal, Canada), there are not many options and they are expensive. San Pellegrino, Perrier, San Benedetto (if you can find it), Gerolsteiner (good but too expensive). Maybe I should move to Russia, haha. I always thought that a good place to live is where you have access to pure water in abundance.

    • @etnamecul
      @etnamecul ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @missn111 There are also health resorts (sanatorium) in Russia, where the main treatment is drinking mineral water, bathing in mineral waters, and various intensity forest or mountain hiking. They are affordable, plus you can get tax refund from the government for having those health care programs once a year. Too bad our sanatoriums mostly have high carbs diets for visitors.. I used to live in Omsk for years. There was a mineral water plant near my house. They had an old soviet apparatus with free mineral water for the visitors right at the entrance. And although the borehole is 1506 meters deep and needed to be maintained, it was the cheapest drink in our stores.

    Приведу свой пример. Эрика смотрю уже 3 года. Сдал анализы крови на микроэлементы. Оказалось хлор выше референса, а натрий на нижней границе. Магний в дефиците, калий в средине референса. Каждое утро начал растворять половину чайной ложки средиземноморской морской соли крупного помола в стакане тёплой воды и выпивать на голодный желудок. Интервальное(6/18) LCHF питание, БАД(в том числе 2 гр цитрата калия и 400 мг цитрата магния после обеда). Ну и потребление чистой воды на уровне 30-35 мл на кг своего веса. Через 2 месяца анализ на микроэлементы показал , что натрий поднялся на уровень 70% референса, хлор опустился тоже к этим значениям, калий и магний поднялись до 80% референса. Ушли даже намёки на отёки. Давление 117-125/70-75 при ЧСС 48-55. Мне скоро 51 год. Так что то, о чём говорит Эрик отлично работает. Попробуйте. Но контроль анализов крови очень желателен.

      But you need to take a lot to get RDA of minerals - calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron. Taking such huge quantities is not feasible. Can't even get close to 10% of RDA of calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron. So, it makes no difference. You can rather get a cheaper table Salt

Mostly potatoes. Seems to be working. My BP is now between 110-115/65-70. It is in the normal range now. My doctor tells me I still can't use salt or my BP will skyrocket again.

    I found that it wasn't the amount of salt in my diet, but what type of salt that was detrimental. I haven't used iodized salt in years and I avoid high sodium drinks like Gatorade and Powerade. I take a kelp supplement for potassium iodide. The iodine used in table salt is not healthy. I also take a GNC men's multivitamin and 25mg of DHEA every day. I cook with and drink distilled water. I'll be 47 next month and I can still ride my skateboard at the skatepark, play basketball or any other physical activity I've enjoyed through the years.

    after living the first 50 years of my life, another well known and reputable Dr on here "convinced" me through his videos that I should have at least a little bit of salt each week. About 2 years ago, I started using Redmond Real Salt and surprisingly, it only took me a few weeks to get used to the taste. I use it 2-4 times a week on the Carnivore diet. How does Redmond compare to the Baja Gold, in your studies? The carnivore diet has me healthier internally than I have been since I was a kid with all aspects where they need to be except my BP. That continues to be a battle.

    Potassium is he easiest mineral to become deficient in. I have heard you say consume 10 cups of salad or 9 bananas, I will say it takes 60 otc supplements to make the RDA every day. 10 bananas have about 150 grams of sugar and 1000 calories , so effectively 1/2 your caloric intake. Now lets get to 10 cups of salad. Not without dressing or something ON it.
    I recently was hospitalized and released as being mildly dehydrated when I was in fact in metabolic gap acidosis. Recovering my potassium level would prove difficult when eating anti-emetics, just to hold down water
