The perfect performance & recording. I am sorry for my uncareful marking of Celibidache in an earlier time when I was listener of Jochum only. I think it will never be interpreted finer and in better nuances in each facet of the musical score. Thank you for posting and I am seriously thinking of purchasing all Bruckner symphonies in each variant of Celi...
Dedicated to Richard Wagner. Wagner had the choice of 2 or 3 and chose 3. Bruckner also consecrated the 2nd movement of his 7th symphony - the adagio - to Wagner - Wagner passing in the midst of its composition.
Great - The picture is hanging crooked - The father of a friend of mine (profi-violinist) played violin in this recording with Celi - Had a recording of this ca. 30 yrs ago on MC - Made a recording of the 3rd per Midi, but lost it 😞 - Isnt it about eternity? - Or just about the Alps? (Was there this summer, its all very bruckneresque
My first time listening to this work, though I am familiar with most of Bruckner's other symphonies. As for Celibidache, this is my favorite recording by him. Even better than Schumann symphonies. Hoomeyow!!
I wonder if there was a work that solemnly shook my soul so far . This masterpiece has the power to purify the world by melting into the silence of the mysterious meditation . From Tokyo in the dizzying Megalopolis ablaze with neon

This is a slower, nicely shaped and much tamer and serene performance, than say Karajan's BPO recording. But still enjoyable; always room for extra Bruckner interpretations.
Fabulous! But of course I expected no less from Maestro Celibidache. A flexible, dramatic performance, rather like Furtwangler might have done, but unlike Furtwangler, Celi's tempo flexibility never sounds too extreme or forced.
Bruckner was a fervent Wagnerian, appreciated by Brahms, but he had a certain contempt for his modest condition. Anton had a strange neurosis: he counted everything he saw (windows, trees, pearls on a necklace, the stars in the sky ...) All this does not prevent him from imposing himself as a virtuoso composer who poses an undeniable milestone, leading from Wagner to Gustav Malher
As one wag once quipped, "Bruckner was God's thank-you note to humanity."
(Another said, "Bruckner's symphonies are not for people in a hurry.")
0:00 is a good place to start....Second movement starts at 23:40....Third movement starts at 40:52........Fourth movement starts at 47:47.
thank you
We heard maestro Celi singing loudly whereas directing ! wunderber !
best music in history bruckner genius
Anton Bruckner...The best!
An absolutely perfect symphony from the great genius, played by an exquisite orchestra under the baton of another genius.

Great!
40:00 ; the horns belt out that note so long I wouldn't have been surprised if they inhaled the rest of the orchestra afterwards..

Exquise. Elle demande qu'on l'écoute avec attention, et c'est ensuite un vrai délice.

La ripetizione del motivo, genera un'onda sonora che poi sfuma in un ruscellare di altri minori motivi.
The image of the mountain, Saslong, is mirrored, what a shame.
Are you sure it isn't just the other side? :)
@@edwardcoe7293 yes, 100% sure. I see it every day from where I live.

Le affinità con la musica di Grieg sono evidenti

C'est exact.
Appreciated by Brahms ???? Is it a joke ? Brahms hated Bruckner and his music ! It was a big rivalry between them in Vienna !
are these "ei!" on record? :O
Yes, they are!
Maestro Celi's Special haha

Osterreichische oder bayerische Alpen vielleicht.
Langkofelgruppe, Dolomites.

Enkaptaton Um die Ursprungsfrage zu klären, es ist wirklich die Langkofelgruppe mit Langkofel, Fünffingerspitze und Plattkofel.
I don't like this symphony as much as the 4 that preceded it.
I doubt that your opinion carries weight. Hoomeyow!!
How can the 4th "precede" the 3rd? Are you referring to different versions?
@@wendychen5779 No, Bruckner's symphonies are misnumbered. The F minor and the ero should be numbered 1 ad 2, upping the numbered ones by 2.
