Exactly, and that Legend of Spyro movie made by someone else has not going to be cancelled, instead Activision will have the movie as the next generation of Spyro the Dragon himself & the start of the cinematic universe based on games!
For a long time, the original Spyro series was on my list for what video game films I've wanted to adapt when I was 7 back in 2002/2003, although more of coming from a video game player's point of view or my own universe, being me as part of my MJM universe and all of the video games I've played between 2000 and 2006. Especially the fourth and fifth garbage games that I've looked into, that I did like. While many have seen the original, I do think it would need a bit of commentary or dialogue spoken between Spyro and the video game player him/herself. I'd be willing to help out in film production, and trying to be true to the source material. The only thing I am not good at is humor and sarcasm, as I tend to specialize in emotion and dramatic type of moments in scenes. In terms of directing, I don't have much experience with it. So, I wouldn't be surprised if they hire people whom have actually played the games, or want to make a new Spyro story altogether. In terms of The Legend of Spyro, sorry, but after a frustrating experience playing the second game, I am not interested in adapting those video games into film. Someone else should do it. I only focus on the original insomniac games, Enter the dragonfly, and A Hero's Tail but that's about it.
Two potential movies I would like is a Legends of Spyro movie, and then a Spyroverse movie.with either 2 or 3 of the Spyros teaming up. I know this sounds crazy, but Skylanders Spyro, Spyro 3, once met NON-skylanders Crash, the original Crash, that meets Spyro 1 (in the games that were terrible but still existed)
I would have liked the film on the legend of Spyro to be made because I loved the 3 video games in the series. And if DreamWorks was making a film on Spyro, it would be great. Otherwise, very good video.

Interesting video. Also awesome that you got CrystalBlazier to join you. If a Spyro movie was to be made in the future, I think that Activision could do it themselves. With their work already on the Skylander's Academy series, they've already proven to be able to do something like that, and with the cutscenes of the Reignited Trilogy being spectacular, I think the guys at Toys for Bob could do an amazing job in making a movie. Seeing how they did Spyro so much justice in the Reignited Trilogy, I trust that they would make a great story that would maintain and expand upon Spyro's character instead of making up a new personality and totally different look for him. I also read the first Eragon book, and saw the movie. The book was phenomenal, and the movie was great, but they're about as close when it comes to story as the Disney Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie was to the book. In other words, the characters and main plot are sort-of the same, but the endings were very different. I would still recommend both, however. :)

I think if they should make a Spyro Movie, with the story of Skylanders and Reignited Trilogy Mixed, and it would be good if he found his parents alive and defeated Kaos and Ripto once and for all.
CrystalBlazier makes a good point about the story being original. DreamWorks handling such a movie would be nice too, though. It's just a shame that there's not a whole lot of interest in Spyro at the moment, so a new game should be made first to get fans noticing again.
Maybe for the next Spyro movie, if they can manage, make it somewhat like a mash between original + TLoS + Skylanders. But the entire movie plot still revolves around Spyro and Sparx. If Ducktales could be a reboot success in 2017 by combining with Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck, then this should be possible.

I want to say, when I was young I watched and really liked the Eragon movie, and it is reason why I later on read the novels. I mean, comparing the movie with the novels, it's not really that bad, it's just more simplified which I think is understandable because the length of the movie is limited unlike a book. And I think the ending in the movie was altered because there's no plan for making sequels, so maybe it's better to have the story end in the first volume of the novels rather than having an unfinished ending.
I was also one of the sad ones when I heard the movie was cancelled. If the movie ever did get revived I think it should be made by the team that made the Legends of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'hoole movie. (sorry if I didn't say it right but ya get what I mean lol)
Fun fact! A Crash Bandicoot movie was leaked and was said to be made by Sony not too long ago, it came from a believable source with a good history of true leaks for movies like ghost busters! Idk about Spyro though, he might get one later...
I actually liked Shark Tale, but I agree with your picks on who to make a Spyro movie also. I honestly would like it to be a mix of the original series and Legends if possible, Cinder and Malefor are some great characters too after all.
I want DreamWorks to make the spiral movie because one they’ve already made movies involving dragons and the dragons look incredibly realistic, to like they said in the video they have made a lot of great adaptations of different medias so I think they would be probably happy to add another type of adaptation to their belt.
I only recently got introduced to the actual Spyro Universe after I played Skylanders Giants - Skylanders Trap Team, then when The Re-Ignited Trilogy came out and I did some research on who Spyro was because I thought he was just from Skylanders, I found out about the original trilogy and The Legend of Spyro Trilogy and right away I knew that even though it was more than a decade old, this was something I had to try. So, after searching through Amazon for any good discs, which I eventually found and got (BTW two of them were brand new and I got them dirt cheap, the last one, DOTD, was a very briefly used copy), I got my old Wii out of storage and after hours of hooking it up to my TV I played all three games and even though I didn't sleep at all that night, *I REGRET NOTHING BECAUSE HOLY F-CKING SHIT THOSE GAMES WERE AWESOME!!!* My parents always told me I might need the Wii again at some point in the future and boy were they right. I really love The Legend of Spyro Trilogy because the story alone I just loved seeing unfold and there were so many times during these games where I got so many different emotions that I was just awe with how amazing the games were. The ending of the third game did bother me for a while but after a couple days I eventually realized that it was actually a very good and very happy ending to such a beautiful trilogy. I may have been late for the party, but I will always love these games and the amazing heroes that came from them. I really hope at some point in the future we get a Legend of Spyro movie because it has the potential to be a really great movie. And if anyone makes it, I really hope it's DreamWorks because they sure know how to make some phenomenal animated movies and I feel like they could really hit the bullseye with this one. I was working on my new story, which was about the parallel universe of dragons, and I think when I finish my story, I'll make an animation with the characters in this game. My character can't be explained because other people copy me. 😅 Dream work company making the best

Here's something to add if they were to cover the OG games why not cover them in a TV series? a TV series would be able to cover the story better as the humor of the original series would be able to lend itself to some pretty funny episodes. The first game could be sort of like a 5 or 6 part mini series. While games two and three would be more of a running series. But no more than a handful of seasons. As for the Legend of Spyro, it could still be a movie franchise but there are elements that could really be improved upon in order to make it stand out more. As much as I love the Legend of Spyro there is a lot of things they could do to improve upon its story.

Never seen Woody, but NORM OF THE NORTH is so gross and so bad, that I am surprised I came out of the theaters with any sanity I had left. (Went to see it with my class and it was horrendous since everything else was considered offensive to watch at that time).
I mean a movie would be more than welcome, but with current situation I think a series would be more than welcome... as to which studio could pull it out... hmm well that's a tough one... I wouldn't mind if Dreamworks did it, considering how they have been acing their Netflix TV shows one after the next, but personally I would like to see Sony try it this one time...

Literally thought about this for a while when I saw the premiere date, and concluded with Dreamworks as well. Honestly the biggest reason why I'd want Dreamworks is, not because I love 90% of the things they've made, but because they're the most consistent. Consistency. Their quality not only stays with each movie they make, but with SEQUELS the quality doesn't drop off, most of the time. Sequels, you know, the things that generally end up underwhelming? Their sequels do whelm. Sometimes end up better than the first. Aside from one extremely pointless and illogical character death in HTTYD2, and maybe one Shrek sequel too much, they sorta never disappoint. I'm especially a fan of the old 2D stuff they made, Prince of Egypt, Road to El Dorado. Great stuff.

Honestly, all of Spyro’s incarnations got me into him. I learned about all 3 all at once. If they made a movie about him though, and I still love Skylanders even though they did get it cancelled, they should use the Legend of Spyro story if they do. Playing the games felt like watching a movie for me. It might have backfired like Travis said though. Don’t hate me for this, but they really need to make a Skylander movie. I feel like the game was just built to be made into a movie. Especially with the massive amount of cutscenes and simple lore to follow. If they did do that though, they need to have Skylanders incarnation of Malefor in it. Not Skylanders academy version, the Return of the Dragon King Skylanders comic version.
What I want from a Spyro movie, is his true origins and parents, plus for him to fall in love with Cynder. In fact, classic Spyro will soon understand that love is wonderful.

I honestly think the best we could hope for from a Spyro film would be a project by dedicated fans using Reignited Trilogy assets and Source Filmmaker. I wouldn't expect anything good from a conglomerate. I wouldn't for any game, but especially a franchise so light-hearted. That's all a company would focus on: making a generic kids' movie. Anyway, clearly a better idea is a story about Dr. Neo Cortex's backstory and what lead him to create Crash Bandicoot. I'd say Cortex is the most fleshed out character of either franchise, ESPECIALLY if you include lore from the Willy the Wombat Production Bible. And I want to know more. Eugh, beans.
While I love Spyro and he has been one of my favorite game series, I don’t think a movie won’t do so well. At least not initially. I think doing a series would be better with each episode Spyro goes to the different worlds like in the old games saving dragons. You could condense it down, so that Spyro saves the elder dragons from the legend of Spyro. Each season will face one of the original trio villains. You have Gnasty arc, Ripto Arc, and Sorceress arc. You then could have a movie after building enough of story and characters where we are introduced to cynder and ‘malefor’ as an entity rather than a dragon.
If they can make a Sonic and Pickachu movie, they *can* make a Spyro movie. But how *good* it would be really depends... Are they going to do a ‘Classic-style’ Spyro movie or a ‘Legend’ version? Maybe one (or several) of each someday. 🤷♀️ But better off having *no* movie than a bad one though!
I would go with the Legend of Spyro universe and pick up where Dawn of the Dragon left off. Adding a sci-fi theme with Spyro and Cynder ending up in a modern day version of the Dragon Realms where magic and technology coexist in harmony with advanced medicine and tech. Also have Sparx trapped in a time Crystal too and brings him into the future like Spyro and Cynder. Cause you can’t have a Spyro story without that little yellow pinhead dragonfly. For the bad guy I say ancient evil that defeated by one of the purple dragons who wants to concur the planet or evil aliens want to concur Spyro and Cynder’s world and colonize it while enslaving the native population.
There's no way this would happen, but I'd want Don Bluth to direct a Spyro movie. He directed Secret of NIMH, one of my favorite animated films of all time, so that's the reason.
Sorry - I was heartbroken when activision canned the Legend of Spyro movie, only to "rebrand" the spyro franchise for ... Skylanders. If a new movie was thought of today, the folks who did the Ratchet & Clank movie did an amazing job on it. The idea of Dreamworks is appealing - but i don't see them working on it. Right now the best we have to look forward to is Spyro 4 - or a continuation, hopefully, of Spyro's story after the original 3 game "ignited" trilogy.
Sony would be a big fat NO! They would try to get Spyro to be a PlayStation exclusive again. That would mean if Skylanders does eventually return, no compatibility with Hammer Slam Bowser or Turbo Charge DK due to the characters being Nintendo IP. Though, there is a higher probability for Disney to respect all previous versions of Spyro due to the presence of numerous video game characters (Sonic, Egg Man, Bowser, etc.) appearing in Wreck It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet. Since the whole Wreck It Ralph deal, Bowser could be an easy cameo character due to his presence in the Skylanders games.
I think Benoît Philippon should make Spyro a movie he made mune guardian of the moon and I loved it so he might be a good choice but I kinda got my hopes up for dream works
Too bad 4Kids Animation isn’t around anymore they would loved to make a animated Spyro movie. Since they had experience in dubbing the Pokémon Movies before Viz Animation took over the dubbing in 2005. Have the original cast from the Legend of Spyro Dawn of the Dragon with their voice actors.
I'm thinking about Spyro's origin then many years later, he faces a new threat and experiences something he never felt before. That is what it needs a story to be very interesting. Just think of Ratchet and Clank movie.
If you would want a Spyro movie done, I would go with Warner Bros., if Dreamworks isn't an option. The best director for this would probably be Steven Spielberg (imagine that!), but that's a little bit a stretch.
Pixar is great studio, most of there movies are originals and focus on one specific feeling or emotion. But there not good at making stuff that is not original.
I looked up the plot for the Legend of Spyro movie, and it was actually gonna be a retelling of the Trilogy, but seeing that they show teen Spyro in the poster, I had a bad feeling the movie would just be A New Beginning, The Eternal Night, and Dawn of the Dragon shoved into one movie, and I know fans would have hated the movie and ranted on the movie saying it ruined the games and the movie felt rushed and it’s a terrible adaptation and it’s just the game trilogy shoved into one movie, fans would have hated the movie, how do I know that? Because M Night Shaymalan did that with Avatar the Last Airbender and shoved one season into one movie and completely butchered what made the series good, Legend of Spyro 3D would have been that year’s The Last Airbender movie before it even came out, now thinking about it, I’m honestly glad it was cancelled. Also to you ATLA fans out there, I’m sorry for reminding you of the Last Airbender movie’s existence, 🎟 Here’s a ticket to Ba Sing Se so you guys can forget it’s existence.
Why make a Spyro movie when the 3 games make the runtime longer than the actual movie? Plus, Video Game movie adaptions weren’t doing very well during their time.
I feel bad for jhon davis his movie directing career was ended by eragon. I read the books first and thought the movie was actually good and ranks in my top 10 favorites.
I’d say DreamWorks is a MUCH BETTER choice to make both Crash & Spyro movies. I’m not really into Sony’s films, because their films (minus Spider-Verse & Surf’s Up) focus WAY TOO MUCH on the Humour and Animation than on the story. Overall, DreamWorks is the PERFECT choice.

I want to say, when I was young I watched and really liked the Eragon movie, and it is reason why I later on read the novels. I mean, comparing the movie with the novels, it's not really that bad, it's just more simplified which I think is understandable because the length of the movie is limited unlike a book. And I think the ending in the movie was altered because there's no plan for making sequels, so maybe it's better to have the story end in the first volume of the novels rather than having an unfinished ending.
I was also one of the sad ones when I heard the movie was cancelled. If the movie ever did get revived I think it should be made by the team that made the Legends of the Guardians: Owls of Ga'hoole movie. (sorry if I didn't say it right but ya get what I mean lol)

Fun fact! A Crash Bandicoot movie was leaked and was said to be made by Sony not too long ago, it came from a believable source with a good history of true leaks for movies like ghost busters! Idk about Spyro though, he might get one later...
I actually liked Shark Tale, but I agree with your picks on who to make a Spyro movie also. I honestly would like it to be a mix of the original series and Legends if possible, Cinder and Malefor are some great characters too after all.

I want DreamWorks to make the spiral movie because one they’ve already made movies involving dragons and the dragons look incredibly realistic, to like they said in the video they have made a lot of great adaptations of different medias so I think they would be probably happy to add another type of adaptation to their belt.
I only recently got introduced to the actual Spyro Universe after I played Skylanders Giants - Skylanders Trap Team, then when The Re-Ignited Trilogy came out and I did some research on who Spyro was because I thought he was just from Skylanders, I found out about the original trilogy and The Legend of Spyro Trilogy and right away I knew that even though it was more than a decade old, this was something I had to try. So, after searching through Amazon for any good discs, which I eventually found and got (BTW two of them were brand new and I got them dirt cheap, the last one, DOTD, was a very briefly used copy), I got my old Wii out of storage and after hours of hooking it up to my TV I played all three games and even though I didn't sleep at all that night, *I REGRET NOTHING BECAUSE HOLY F-CKING SHIT THOSE GAMES WERE AWESOME!!!* My parents always told me I might need the Wii again at some point in the future and boy were they right. I really love The Legend of Spyro Trilogy because the story alone I just loved seeing unfold and there were so many times during these games where I got so many different emotions that I was just awe with how amazing the games were. The ending of the third game did bother me for a while but after a couple days I eventually realized that it was actually a very good and very happy ending to such a beautiful trilogy. I may have been late for the party, but I will always love these games and the amazing heroes that came from them. I really hope at some point in the future we get a Legend of Spyro movie because it has the potential to be a really great movie. And if anyone makes it, I really hope it's DreamWorks because they sure know how to make some phenomenal animated movies and I feel like they could really hit the bullseye with this one. I was working on my new story, which was about the parallel universe of dragons, and I think when I finish my story, I'll make an animation with the characters in this game. My character can't be explained because other people copy me. 😅 Dream work company making the best
I watched the Woody Woodpecked, and it was kinda "meh" to me. And it's was the best that movie based on the TLoS ANB didn't come out, our maybe will be kinda "meh" or "the worst".

Here's something to add if they were to cover the OG games why not cover them in a TV series? a TV series would be able to cover the story better as the humor of the original series would be able to lend itself to some pretty funny episodes.
The first game could be sort of like a 5 or 6 part mini series. While games two and three would be more of a running series. But no more than a handful of seasons.
As for the Legend of Spyro, it could still be a movie franchise but there are elements that could really be improved upon in order to make it stand out more. As much as I love the Legend of Spyro there is a lot of things they could do to improve upon its story.

Never seen Woody, but NORM OF THE NORTH is so gross and so bad, that I am surprised I came out of the theaters with any sanity I had left.
(Went to see it with my class and it was horrendous since everything else was considered offensive to watch at that time).

Literally thought about this for a while when I saw the premiere date, and concluded with Dreamworks as well.
Honestly the biggest reason why I'd want Dreamworks is, not because I love 90% of the things they've made, but because they're the most consistent. Consistency.
Their quality not only stays with each movie they make, but with SEQUELS the quality doesn't drop off, most of the time. Sequels, you know, the things that generally end up underwhelming? Their sequels do whelm. Sometimes end up better than the first. Aside from one extremely pointless and illogical character death in HTTYD2, and maybe one Shrek sequel too much, they sorta never disappoint.
I'm especially a fan of the old 2D stuff they made, Prince of Egypt, Road to El Dorado. Great stuff.

First of all great video second of all I do agree DreamWorks should make Spyro movie but if they were to do that it would have to be a film where it should blow everyone's minds and that being said I enjoyed the gameplay and animation and storyline of the legend of Spyro and I loved playing reignited trilogy and I kind of enjoyed the Skylanders version of Spyro as well but if a film of Spyro is a must to make and must to have I 100% agree cynder should be in it and I am sorry but I don't want any what so ever cameos in the Spyro film and if Hans Zimmer did the theme for spirit stallion of the cimmaron and how to train your dragon then I think he can handle doing a theme for Spyro as well and yes in this video of yours you should have mentioned that DreamWorks also worked on spirit stallion of the cimmaron and in a way you can kind of see something funny there spirit has rain toothless has the light fury and Spyro has cynder but not to get off topic here my point is yes DreamWorks should do a Spyro film and yes cynder should be in it and yes Hans Zimmer should be able to do a theme for Spyro as well that being said he did work on the theme for Skylanders Spyro's adventure and like I was saying before no I don't think we should add any cameos in the Spyro film if Spyro is to have a film of his own all about him then the film that going to be has got to do Spyro justice the one film we are to ever see of him needs to be mind blowing and DreamWorks can pull it off if they put love care time and patience into this film and greatness for our purple dragon will be a success. Honestly, all of Spyro’s incarnations got me into him. I learned about all 3 all at once. If they made a movie about him though, and I still love Skylanders even though they did get it cancelled, they should use the Legend of Spyro story if they do. Playing the games felt like watching a movie for me. It might have backfired like Travis said though. Don’t hate me for this, but they really need to make a Skylander movie. I feel like the game was just built to be made into a movie. Especially with the massive amount of cutscenes and simple lore to follow. If they did do that though, they need to have Skylanders incarnation of Malefor in it. Not Skylanders academy version, the Return of the Dragon King Skylanders comic version.
What I want from a Spyro movie, is his true origins and parents, plus for him to fall in love with Cynder. In fact, classic Spyro will soon understand that love is wonderful.

I honestly think the best we could hope for from a Spyro film would be a project by dedicated fans using Reignited Trilogy assets and Source Filmmaker. I wouldn't expect anything good from a conglomerate. I wouldn't for any game, but especially a franchise so light-hearted. That's all a company would focus on: making a generic kids' movie.
Anyway, clearly a better idea is a story about Dr. Neo Cortex's backstory and what lead him to create Crash Bandicoot. I'd say Cortex is the most fleshed out character of either franchise, ESPECIALLY if you include lore from the Willy the Wombat Production Bible. And I want to know more.

The answer: YES!
While I love Spyro and he has been one of my favorite game series, I don’t think a movie won’t do so well. At least not initially. I think doing a series would be better with each episode Spyro goes to the different worlds like in the old games saving dragons.
You could condense it down, so that Spyro saves the elder dragons from the legend of Spyro.
Each season will face one of the original trio villains. You have Gnasty arc, Ripto Arc, and Sorceress arc.
You then could have a movie after building enough of story and characters where we are introduced to cynder and ‘malefor’ as an entity rather than a dragon.
If the movie was real, I would've watched it and liked it.
If they can make a Sonic and Pickachu movie, they *can* make a Spyro movie. But how *good* it would be really depends... Are they going to do a ‘Classic-style’ Spyro movie or a ‘Legend’ version? Maybe one (or several) of each someday. 🤷♀️
But better off having *no* movie than a bad one though!
I would go with the Legend of Spyro universe and pick up where Dawn of the Dragon left off. Adding a sci-fi theme with Spyro and Cynder ending up in a modern day version of the Dragon Realms where magic and technology coexist in harmony with advanced medicine and tech. Also have Sparx trapped in a time Crystal too and brings him into the future like Spyro and Cynder. Cause you can’t have a Spyro story without that little yellow pinhead dragonfly. For the bad guy I say ancient evil that defeated by one of the purple dragons who wants to concur the planet or evil aliens want to concur Spyro and Cynder’s world and colonize it while enslaving the native population.

There's no way this would happen, but I'd want Don Bluth to direct a Spyro movie. He directed Secret of NIMH, one of my favorite animated films of all time, so that's the reason.

If a new movie was thought of today, the folks who did the Ratchet & Clank movie did an amazing job on it. The idea of Dreamworks is appealing - but i don't see them working on it.
Right now the best we have to look forward to is Spyro 4 - or a continuation, hopefully,
of Spyro's story after the original 3 game "ignited" trilogy.
Sony would be a big fat NO! They would try to get Spyro to be a PlayStation exclusive again. That would mean if Skylanders does eventually return, no compatibility with Hammer Slam Bowser or Turbo Charge DK due to the characters being Nintendo IP. Though, there is a higher probability for Disney to respect all previous versions of Spyro due to the presence of numerous video game characters (Sonic, Egg Man, Bowser, etc.) appearing in Wreck It Ralph and Ralph Breaks the Internet. Since the whole Wreck It Ralph deal, Bowser could be an easy cameo character due to his presence in the Skylanders games.

If you would want a Spyro movie done, I would go with Warner Bros., if Dreamworks isn't an option. The best director for this would probably be Steven Spielberg (imagine that!), but that's a little bit a stretch.

Pixar is great studio, most of there movies are originals and focus on one specific feeling or emotion. But there not good at making stuff that is not original.
I looked up the plot for the Legend of Spyro movie, and it was actually gonna be a retelling of the Trilogy, but seeing that they show teen Spyro in the poster, I had a bad feeling the movie would just be A New Beginning, The Eternal Night, and Dawn of the Dragon shoved into one movie, and I know fans would have hated the movie and ranted on the movie saying it ruined the games and the movie felt rushed and it’s a terrible adaptation and it’s just the game trilogy shoved into one movie, fans would have hated the movie, how do I know that? Because M Night Shaymalan did that with Avatar the Last Airbender and shoved one season into one movie and completely butchered what made the series good, Legend of Spyro 3D would have been that year’s The Last Airbender movie before it even came out, now thinking about it, I’m honestly glad it was cancelled.

Why make a Spyro movie when the 3 games make the runtime longer than the actual movie? Plus, Video Game movie adaptions weren’t doing very well during their time.

I’d say DreamWorks is a MUCH BETTER choice to make both Crash & Spyro movies. I’m not really into Sony’s films, because their films (minus Spider-Verse & Surf’s Up) focus WAY TOO MUCH on the Humour and Animation than on the story. Overall, DreamWorks is the PERFECT choice.
