Holy crap, you made that look easy. I've been using the F-22 with Qaams and got S-rank on Normal and Hard, but am having a hell of a time on Ace. Any recommendations on parts?
FriendlyChris I used enhanced Special Missile honing for the QAAMs, as well as enhanced homing and flight speed for MSL. Just looked at my inventory now and apparently I also had MSL limit up which is a mistake I probably meant to have SpW limit up. Then Queen’s Custom, Superior Maneuverability, ECU Software update and variable engine cycle on the body. I got a lucky angle on the second phase with the ADF-11 I’d say though The trick with S-Rank here I’ve found is that destroying the Ravens themselves isn’t enough, gotta destroy 1 or 2 (I do 2 to be sure) of the weapon UAVs they drop to get enough points. Also a little trick I found, not sure if well known. If you hang around the space elevator before the cutscene for the tunnel segment you’ll spawn above the tunnel and have to fly over it and turn around; but if you fly towards the tunnel immediately like I do you can spawn facing it (this is where you would start if you started from checkpoint as well)
@@AlexGellel Thanks man! As it happens I got the S-rank not longer after commenting here, turns out I was using mostly the same parts, just needed a bit more luck and it finally worked out
Alex Gellel I took down all 4 of the UAVs in the ADF-11F and the game cheated me out of S-Rank, I did take 54% damage but I never once crashed or was shot down. Update: just did it in the F-22, 15% damage, all Weapons UAVs shot down, 7 and a half minutes. I want to die.
I skipped over the parts in the video but if you look at the icons in the aircraft selection you can see I have the ECU Software Upgrade equipped, which helps more reliably pull tight turns.
bill Harper Timing and positioning. Don’t rely on their tracking alone, learn when to release them so the flight path intercepts the target. It’s an experience thing more than an analytical thing
@@billharper3717 Use parts to increase missile tracking and flight speed if you're having issues with their performance. Don't be trigger happy with them, take a shot if you're somewhat confident it'll hit, rather than just letting tracking do the work. Try and get them on straights like at 2:41 and then line up the shot a bit so they intercept (note pulling the nose up ever so slightly before firing, that's just an experience/feel thing)
Press and hold down Y (or if you have a different control scheme whatever button you use to cycle targets) Note that you'll still move as if your camera is normal, so it takes some adjusting to, but it's very useful to be able to keep a target in your sights.
Damn I thought my time of 5:29 was fast, good job
The laser dogfighting is insane
6:37 I almost had a heart attack. great video
Same
Now do it with the warthog without upgrades

You can also try the EML... This is pretty much the only mission where I'll bring the EML.

Totally lit man. I got S rank using EML but damn, the way you do g-turns amazes me. I always end up stalling. T_T any tips?
