well i completely understand why this movie (or specifically this video) isn't everyone's cup of tea.
the only negative reactions and comments that i usually get are mostly because of people saying "the subtitles are inaccurate" or try to compare this to ACTUAL kung fu and realistic martial arts...which is just silly if you ask me...💯
obviously this is a non-fictional story based off of a comic book called "The Bride". some people take some of this stuff way too seriously and there's always going to be ppl who don't like everything...
everyone is entitled to their own opinion. but the almost 4 million views and close to 30,000 likes people bother to leave suggest more ppl like it than don't.
i specifically DO NOT monitize my channel because I just put up stuff I personally like, and it's sort of just a way of expressing myself and have interesting conversations and debates about any particular subject matter through the comments section.
I don't do social media at all...and youtube is about the only thing close that i choose to interact with ppl online, and it's much more enjoyable.
I also don't like the idea of making money off of other people's work.
i try to give credits to the original source material when i can, in almost every video that i post, if i don't mention the "precise" source of some of the content, i at least let everyone know upfront that I am not the owner of posted material unless there is small additions or visualizations i add to certain videos or music.
it's just a hobby really. and for the most part, i enjoy conversing or debating with people which is half the fun anyhow 💯
with this particular videos i mostly enjoy debating people who say "she lands a blow" to Pai Mei... and some ppl get upset even when i shoot down their point of view....
....i do have to say, occasionally there are some legit arguments to that, but it's interesting to hear a new one.
      thanks for comment. 👍😁

I like how this isn't one of those movies where the female protagonist is such a natural talent that she immediately impresses Pai Mei. Instead he let's her know her place, because t first she acts insulted as she actually believes herself to be her match, but he shows her whats she knows: not a goddamn thing. Instead she perseveres through her training and then ultimately earns his respect

    • @ahmetrefikeryilmaz4432
      @ahmetrefikeryilmaz4432 2 ปีที่แล้ว +74

I don't think she ever believed herself to be his match. That just doesn't befit her character. She knows she is nothing compared to him and she went there to be something. Pai Mei saw and respected that.
If she ever believed for a second that she was his match, she would have been fled after her first attempt (or tried to anyway). She instead stayed and risked death.
If she was Boba Fett, then Pai Mei was Vader and she knew that.

As an East Asian Man, I've always thought that Hollywood has no clue how East Asian men think or act. So they portray a heavily stereotyped and passive image of Asian men. When I saw this movie I was really impressed. Whoever wrote the character of Pei Mei understands East Asian men very well. No doubt, there are some Asian men who fit the Western Stereotype of being passive and nerdy. But this representation (By Pei Mei) is actually much more accurate. Asian men can be ruthless, demeaning, nationalistic, sexist, spiteful assholes. They can be rude and cruel.
Pei Mei's racist stereotypes against Western women is (sadly) a common stereotype in Asia. Pei Mei's hatred of the Japanese is very common among Chinese people. Pei Mei's anger at why she responds to him in Mandarin when he spoke to her in Cantonese, is an accurate portrayal of how even within Chinese culture (or Any Asian ethnicity) there are conflicts based on dialects. Pei Mei's blunt opinions, ruthlessness, and unrelenting attitude is very accurate. Not giving her any room for excuses or even for failure.
Pei Mei is basically a scaled up version of the Asian father that most of us grew up with.

Quentin Tarantino respects culture not Hollywood bs and nonsense that has become common place in the modern day and age. It's one thing to use a person's culture and blantly flat out disrespect it for politics but when a person actually makes the an effort to learn said culture and customs out of genuine respect earns admiration for efforts knowing respect is not to be demanded but a mutual thing that every individual human being chooses.

Bill also emphasized that beatrix is quite wise beyond her years, and perhaps that's th reason why Pai Mei felt like he must have found a worthy student to teach his 5 point palm technique. But then again who knows? this is a guy who massacred an entire temple because a nod wasn't returned lol.. maybe he just felt like it..

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell?
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.
      John 1:1,14 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us,
      1 John 3:8 KJV
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
      Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

    1) when Pai Mei was a child how much he had to suffer and practice in pain and so on through his life to reach this level of skill. How much he had to suffer for it... what level of dedication, will-power, diligence, tenancity and mental strenght he must have... There is no royal road.
    2) what incredibly high level of skills one needed to have to have his respect or to be his worthy adversary...
Pai Mei is a true grandmaster.

In Chinese Mythology, It's called Qinggong AKA "the light body technique". Supposedly, the user is able to manipulate the flow of Chi within their own body so they can cause their body to become extremely light. They can then take advantages of this by: Jumping great distances(Semi-Fly), Move extremely quickly, Walk on water, walk up walls, Ect. The more powerful someone's inner Energy is, the lighter they can become. When Pei Mei jumps on top of her sword, it demonstrates that his mastery of this ability is so advanced that he can stand at the end of her sword and she won't even feel his weight.

I know I'm not standing on a hill alone talking about how great Pai Mei is written, but. The interplay is just perfect. I'm sure that Pai Mei would have sat in that position silently for hours if Beatrix didn't speak to him- he knows exactly what test he's intending on performing. He feels for how much respect she innately has for him, and relents just a touch when she bows her head. But the point is to goad her into willing to go full force, full effort against him, so he can bring her to that extreme low point. I used to think the defining turning point was simply her expressing her helplessness- that this was the begining he was seeking with his student. But now I believe he would have shucked her out if she couldn't muster the 'yes' to 'do you wish to possess this power?'. Because what he needs is someone who never loses sight of wanting to attain that level of skill in agony, rather than just wanting to avoid further suffering and submit to his will

This and the training scenes are my favorite part of the Kill-Bill movies....harkens back to when I was a young lad watching badly dubbed kung fu movies at a drive in theatre...and hero worshipping Bruce Lee. Tarintino did a fabulous Job.

The legendary Gordon Liu! Thank you very much Mr. Tarantino for offering such a perfect movie role to such a great and legendary Shaolin Kung Fu Master/Hong Kong actor!
Mr. Liu has been making movies for over 50 years... 👍🔥

Amusing that the english translation isn't actually as harsh as what he's actually saying in Cantonese.
