Added Fact: The voice actor Nobuyuki Hiyama's alias is "King Of Braves" since his most distinct voice style is hotblooded protags (look up GaoGaiGar, especially the Goldion Hammer finisher). But the guy is versatile enough of a voice actor he can do other voice ranges, for example he was Hiei's voice actor from YuYu Hakusho.

And Rockman Volnutt is voiced by the actress that does Luffy. And Frank West is the only character in the game that speaks English...even though Viewtiful Joe never spoke Japanese in his games in Japan--All Viewtiful Joe titles had Japanese subtitles added into the games.

When you think about, when people first played MvC 1 back when it was fresh on the scene, there were many capcom and marvel characers (assists included) that people most likely didn't know about, but that didn't stop it from being such a fun game. Hell, I think because those character where never seen before added more charm to the game. I will say, this game did make me interested in the Tatsunoko characters, to the point where I checked out Cashern Sins and the modern Yatterman anime.

Even if I don't know much about the Tatsunoko characters besides Cashern and Yatterman, Tasunoko vs. Capcom is still my most favorite VS. game, with MvC 2 and 1 just behind it. It manages to bring the charm, quirkiness and energy from the past games into the 2.5D world. I hope someday for a re-release this gem.

Graphics wise this looks bad, but I do feel that TVC and MVC3 will age way better than Infinite thanks to artstyles both those games adopted. 20 years from now TVC and MVC3 will be more pleasing to the eyes than Infinite.

@@NobleDemonTim While it's a good idea in concept, we shouldn't forget that companies using games like MvC as promotional bandwagons are what led to their downfall. Infinite was basically one of the many examples of when companies get greddy. Especially American/Western companies. I don't know if NTV will fuck over Capcom the same way Disney over-promoted Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, but Capcom should be definitely cautious when companies approach them for crossovers like TvC.

When I played the game for the first time, I got amazed of how they managed to make Alex work in a VS. game, and I also got shocked to see Batsu once more, and I got curious about Saki (after seeing her as an assist in MVC), this game is really good and most of the mechanics used here passed on both MVC3 versions.
I just loved Saki's, Karas', Doronjo's and Batsu's level 3 animations.

I've been thinking the same thing for years.
I was on the same boat. Then I saw what they've been doing with SF and MvC, and all of a sudden I can take it or leave it.
Just need a direct port of Project Justice on the respective on-line stores. Even better if we get an update to make it HD/widescreen.

Ironic that, to me, this looks more fun to watch than the most recent MvC games. Visually less busy than UMvC3, yet with a more vibrant art direction than Infinite. Too bad this game never gained traction.

As I do understand yours. MvC is indeed supposed to be flashy, colorful, all over the place in terms of action, and UMvC3 does it all very well.
But honestly, there are things about Mahvel 3 that turn me off. On top of being visually busy, it's way too fast, so much that actually made me stop caring about the outcome of various matches in the proscene. Also, there's a blatant character saturation among the pros, who go for the usual Dantes, Zeros and Dr. Dooms. IIRC, only recently a newcomer had the balls to win EVO using Chun, who isn't as viable as other topdogs in the game.
Perhaps it's on me, tho. I just can't let go of my nostalgia for the earlier Vs. games. They do have an unique charm that MvC3 has failed to replicate IMO. Maybe I should focus my attention on the upcoming DBZFighters, even tho I'm only mildly acquainted with the story and characters.

TVC fan right here. This game was a lot of fun. Criminally underrated, as were a lot of the more mature games on the Wii.
My teams were MegaMan Volnutt/Morrigan and Tekkaman Blade/Ippatsuman.
The funny thing is that Roll is actually pretty good in this game. It's a huge fucking step up from her MvC2 appearance.

A little late to say this, but you can blame Disney for that. They wanted to promote Avengers: Infinity War, so they forced Capcom to make a majority of the roster filled with MCU characters that would appear in the movie. It cut off Capcom's side by a wide margin, the only character they were able to sneak in at the last minute was Monster Hunter.
This is the VS game I need right now. Lord knows Tatsunoko needs it after the lull they seem to have gotten into lately. I don't have a Switch but I wouldn't mind an HD rerelease or sequel to make me crave for one.

One character in TvC who's grown on me over the years is Tekkaman Blade. Back in 1992, his Japanese voice actor, Toshiyuki Morikawa, shouted "VOLTEKKA!!!" so loudly that he broke the studio's microphone on two occasions.

Gold Lightan is actually a golden Zippo lighter. And of course, the other neat thing about this game is that he gets a unique alternate introduction when choosing the Silver palette swap; Says "Silver Lightan!" when introducing himself.

Mega Kabutops Technically from Robot Hunter Casshan. Sins is the much grittier reboot, which saying something considering how dark the original is. Which you should totally check out if you've seen Sins.
It's unlikely to happen because Tatsunoko is over-protective of their IPs and licensing is a bitch. It really hurts me since it's my favourite of the VS series.
CursedUsername it isn't because of Tatsunoko....not directly. Tatsunoko required Capcom to go through each and every series' license in order to allow them to be in the game. This is because several of Tatsunoko's anime series are licensed (and partially owned) by completely different companies in completely different regions other than Japan. These companies are the ones who proved to cause the biggest hurdles--this was the reason Hakushon Daimao was excluded from Ultimate All-Stars, as this anime was not only licensed to America, Austraila and Canada but the series was known to have been exported all across Europe. This would've demanded high royalties from Capcom to allow the character in the game, something Capcom was definitely not ever going to do.
While this is speculation, one of the big reasons Tatsunoko required an agreement over the license of their character's usage in the game may be due in part to the nasty debacle that is Macross 7. Because of how ambiguous the original allotted license was, and how utterly dastardly Harmony Gold is, this has lead to the Macross series being stuck in Japan for an indefinite amount of time. Tatsunoko likely wanted to avoid any situation like that with this game. Then again, I'm only speculating in this section.
Man, the roster for this game was so f'ing fantastic. Being able to play tekkaman blade alone was amazing!!!!!

Shinkiro is also been the key artist to most if not all of the King of Fighters games as well as several SNK games. If you look at a lot of the box arts from the 90's to around '00, it's mostly his stuff.

How to fix the Tatsunoko vs Capcom franchise:
1. Reboot the franchise.
And 2. Give the rebooted franchise's gameplay balance the Street Fighter treatment.
When a 7 year old Wii game has better presentation and art direction than a 2017 game. Thats all this series makes me feel, that these older games had more love put into them. I even bought TvC at launch.
