Waaaaah I'm 63 and a grandmother. I thank God daily that I'm not yet grey. My grandchildren call me Oma, as I'm first generation Australian. I hear we may possibly have new spectrum glazes end of November. Woohoo how exciting. Thanks for sharing. Happy potting. Ciao from Canberra, Australia 🇦🇺 ♥ 😊
You are so lucky that you don't have grey yet!! I'd bleach my hair to hide the grey! hahaha You are going to just love the new glazes and have so much fun! they are just stunning!!! xo
@@SarahWaltonPotteryI do have mine bleached to hide the grey. Of course, I’m in desperate need of getting my roots done. My husband teases me excessively about his ‘grey headed lady’. LOL! I’ve had grey since my mid to late 30s/40s.
It was a a great video. I missed the live but enjoyed it with a cup of coffee in hand. I love all your colour combinations. It took 2 months to get the new Spectrum glazes from Amaranth. Apparently Spectrum lost their order. I have since added the other suppliers to my desk top and shop around to find what I need just as you do. I'm in NS so the closest suppliers are on your turf in ON. I'll try to catch your live kiln unload. I always enjoy them.

I'm glad you will be using my intel on suppliers! 😉 I'm so glad you enjoy my videos...this last LIVE was a looooooooong one...sorry about that! I just love this community and getting to know you all! Thanks so much for your support it really does help encourage me to continue putting out content! xo
I had two pumpkins explode from the holes closing in and had shards embedded into the pots around them and embedded into the kiln bricks. From now on my holes will be bigger 😂
OHHH NOOOOO…That was a real bad blowout! People don’t realize how many things can go upside down during the process…thanks for sharing, I don’t feel as bad about my pumpkin explosion! Cheers!
Another awesome video Sarah. Thank you so much for sharing I have yet had the confidence to film and post a kiln opening but will try to get there soon. Looking forward to your next kiln opening.
I am a hobby potter from VA and have been really struggling with consistent glaze results, so I love your videos and your willingness to share all you do. Love love your work. thank you
Aww I missed your live 😔, so fun watching and thank you for sharing your tips and tricks ❤. I'm so in love with your glaze results, I learned a lot just from watching your videos... your channel is amazing for me as beginner 🙌 I'm a big fan, big hugs from Florida
Hi Julia!! Thank you so very much!! I'm really sorry that it's taken me so long to reply..Ive been a little overwhelmed with all the Fall markets and prep for xmas! I hope you are ok after Milton! I watched the devastation that's happened in the South...my prayers are with you!
@SarahWaltonPottery hi Sarah, we doing OK after milton, my husband is right now on the roof and is fixing the holes. Also the fence was blown away 🤦 but other than that we are blessed, I feel so sorry for the people who lost everything. Can't wait for your next video, maybe you could give some tips how to set up a market 😬, I'm still far away to try to sell at market, I'm still at my first steps to set up a etsy shop or something like that but I'm so interested to sell on a market in the future 😀. Big hugs from Florida (and it's Judy 😅 not Julia ❤️)

So happy to see your video Sarah and so much fun even if I was not in the live! So very much similar We are applying glazes, I will need to check out Michaels next week when I am in London,Ont for some fluffy brushes. I ordered the Spectrum sample pack from Sounding Stone. Hope to get some other supplies whilst in CA that are not here in Denmark yet. Would love to meet you but We are still quite far apart from each. 😘❤️😘❤️🥰😊🥰❤️
I hope you have a BLAST while visiting London, ON and your fam!! I wish we could connect but I'm swamped, if not I would find a way to meet with you! next time...and I can't wait to see what you do with the new Spectrum Glazes!!! xo
Thanks so much for all your glaze ideas! I have a pint of dark flux, have you ever tried it? I’m struggling with what to use it for. Seems most potters use light flux, which I love!
Hi Lorelie! Yes I do have Dark Flux and I use it from time to time with some of my deeper blues and purples..it's pretty stunning...I think I will have to pull it out and play with it some more...I haven't been giving it enough love, thanks for the suggestion! xo
Oh how sweet Sarah! Your comments was very sweet and helpful! You are totally right ❤ there will always be people who will not like the prices and other that will say that is not much! I decided to keep doing markets and not let it get to me that much😊 hopefully it will work! I have my next market on the 30th of October 🎉
I really enjoy watching your videos and I watched this one all the way to the end. We would be fast friends if we met in person. I am not a beginner but I just restarted my pottery journey last year. It’s not like riding a bicycle and I had never owned or fired a kiln before last year. You helped me figure out where and how to place the junior cone/bar for my kilnsetter. I was relying on viewing the cones through the peephole and using a pyrometer that I purchased separately. I too had an older kiln and purchased a new one right before you did but mine is a lot smaller than yours. My old one probably still works if I change a few parts but I don’t know how to do that yet. Lol. I am a native Northern Californian from Redding, near Mt. Shasta. I lived in Hammond, Louisiana for over 20 years where I taught psychology and did research. I moved back to Redding in 2010 to take care of my brilliant father with Alzheimer’s. He passed in 2016, the last of my immediate family except I have a daughter and a son. Currently I am just a hobby potter. My friends have been encouraging me to sell my work and have purchased some pieces from me. So, I am considering selling as this hobby is rather expensive. You might want to try one of my favorite glaze combinations: textured turquoise on the bottom of a vertical piece with kimchi on the top, little overlap. It’s really yummy. I just purchased a second mug from you: pinks with gold luster. By the way, have you heard that Mayco is discontinuing their lusters? Cheers and thanks for your videos, Liana Ps sorry so long and I posted as a reply to Ellen’s message…

I'm new to kilns too. I've just put kiln wash on the shelves and am now doing a 04 bisque with a few pieces to bisque fire. I've been reading, researching and watching TH-cam to get all information needed to do a glaze firing 🔥. I've been a bit nervous and apprehensive about it all. Good luck with kiln firing 🔥 👍.
Sarah ~~ how do you prevent the glaze from sticking to the shelf when bringing it all the way to the bottom of the pumpkin? Maybe you mention it I am only half way through the video. Thanks so much for all your fantastic videos! 🏺❤️
