Played this at my beautiful Michael's funeral last year. In honor of his military service as a green beret in Vietnam. He came home and went to medical school. Spent his life as an incredibly gifted physician, but was taken from me last year with covid. I desperately miss him. He was the true love of my life. God keep you safe my sweet love until I can be with you again. Kathie Ropele (Your "dolly")❤
You will be with him.
I honor his service to this country.
@@marvinboggs Thank you Marvin ❤
I would like to thank him for his service to this country, and I will pray that you will find peace.😪
@@crobilly19 Thank you 💖
May God’s grace eternally shine on you and your Michael.
I wonder if when God created the universe it knew that one day billions of years later there would be such a beautiful sound.
Not bad.
The majority of Bible-believing Christians who believe in creation also believe that the world is only approx 7000-8000 years old. Not billions . . .unless you believe in Theistic evolution. But, yes, it is a soul moving piece of music.
Then you don't know God!
@@srilankavideos6105 Not well. We were at a 2000 Democratic fund raiser together. I was going to ask Him (yes, Him) about the Riemann hypothesis and then Barbara Streisand spirited Him away. But I got His autograph.
@@srilankavideos6105 judge not lest you be judged. Mathew 5:3-7:27
This is the most soulish performance of Cavatina that I have heard. The emotion flows through his fingers and out from the strings.
This is the best version of this song!!!!!!
Sir, You’re right!👍🙏
Присоединяюсь от всего сердца! ❤
The most bittersweet song I've ever heard.
Beautiful, Kind, Soft, Humble, Grateful, Peaceful & Gliding.
Oh my Goodness - the perfect rendition of this great piece of music. The best ever
Присоединяюсь от всего сердца, с замирпнием которого слушал каждый звук этого волшебного произведения! Брависсимо! 👏💐
I found 2 1-hour non-stop playing of this beautiful song that I listen to walking my puppy in the morning. This is the best version, wish there is a 1-hour of this I can find in TH-cam.
Best version I've heard. Most everyone else seems to rush it a bit.
the most brutal chords you could ever imagine
It might be the best piece of music ever made
It sounds the best at this speed. Beautiful.
This song simply touches my heart.
And to think that my 14 yr old son introduced me to this beautiful piece many years ago explaining where it came from Love you Patrick!
Wow.. this touched my inner soul so deeply… Thanks be to God Almighty For eternity…🙏🙏🙏 💐🌹🌷
Returning again to listen to this fabulous rendition. The guitarist is stunningly good. Beauty and grace in his playing. His looks are as good as his musicality is at ease with the music. 🥰🥰
He used a slightly slower tempo, but filled each syllable with incredible emotion that would make my heart melt .
Я перед просмотром этого прекрасного видео ознакомился с вариантом исполнения Каватины за чуть более чем 3 минуты, вызвавшим бурное справедливое осуждение.
right?
Hermosa, hermosa interpretación !!!!!! Mil gracias 😘 muy contenta de escucharlo !!!! 💯🌟🌟🌟🌟💜😇
Feels like my soul is soaring when I hear this. Will be played at my funeral; it's beautiful. 💕
A beautiful rendition of a wonderful piece of music. Thank you, Mr Jakobsen!
Totally! It is the VERY BEST guitar version I've ever heard. Not a single annoying TWANG of strings in the entire thing. Bravo!
I love this
If this doesn't connect you to your self and the ones you love nothing will
Wow beautiful performance, the pace is perfect. Bravo!!!
Best version of the "Cavatina"...gentle & peaceful! Thanks Olavur!
Your music is a balm to a worn and weary soul. Thank you.
You're number one player of the classic guitar♡
brought tears to my eyes, moving....
I never thought I would hear a guitarist perform this piece that I preferred over the Master John Williams but Olavur's sensitivity and passion is remarkable
4:04 the most beautiful chord. Brings tears
Magnifique.
The pacing of this piece is key. This guy has it spot on
The song becomes part of one"s soul
This is the very best version of Cavtina, i've ever heard, Jakobson is really in to the Composer's mind and delivers it so gently
You probably dont care but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account??

This is the best of best . The recording of Cavatina with Olav is something special.

What I wouls give to be able to play this masterpiece on the guitar. Amazing ❤
I love this tune and this is the best version by million miles, this tune has haunted me since the movie came out 40 years ago and makes me happy and sad at the same time.
A bit slower and gentler than I've heard before. Very very lovely. Bravo!
Jakobsen nails this one. The best version out there
Listen to the Guitar Duo. They do a very moving version, too. 🙋♀️
@@ladychatelaine697 agree, that is also good. But Jakobsen is such a sensitive artist and his soloedition is pretty hard to nail down. And his control and sense of free flowing rhythm - and not too fast, is second to none. I think.
OMG!Perfect ❤I’m crying 😭
the best rendition of this tune i have ever heard, bravo
Bravo~~~~ So sweet. Touched deeply. Two thumbs up from Korea
Beyond words❤reminds me of the love of my life, and how our life’s took different paths, but through this song transports me to the exact moment we heard this song together on a plane flying to Japan
The power of music is indescribeable.
Perfectly beautiful.
Amazingly beautiful rendition.
can't stop crying :(
His tempo and pace have preserved the very song itself! Moreover he puts in his passion and soul in playing his guitar is awesome! That’s the way to go!
yes ii notice alot of cats play it waaay to fast! this guy is perfect!!!! wonderfully done!
Merci de partager vos talents avec le monde.
Excellent performance. I have to mention here also that Mark Allen, the side walk musician, played it on his electric guitar in the street alone, but equally beautiful.
Qué toque tan delicado para ésta melodía, es genial !!!!! Muchas GRACIAS !!!! Saludos desde México 😯😘💜💚🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💜😇
Mr Jakobsen does a fine job on this song. I believe the best performance of Cavatina I have ever heard. 👏 BRAVO
I agree, this is the best version.
I also agree. The BEST
Wow, just....Wow! I think this is the best Live performance of this I've ever heard. It's so close to the original. Beautiful Guitar playing and the Orchestra were superb.
Truly the real one amongst several copies.
Made me cry...so beautifully played
Best rendition, thank you!
By far the best version of this piece of music. Captivating.
SALUDOS A TODOS DESDE MÉXICO !!!! GRACIAS . ES LINDA CAVATINA. Sr Oslavur Jakebsen !!!! 😯😊💞🙏🤗👌🙏💕💜
Beautiful rendition ! Perfect
I've heard this song played by nearly everyone, including on a Fender electric... but nothing, NOTHING beats this tune played on an acoustic by somebody who knows how. Great!!
tiffsaver an acoustic classical guitar...yes. Nylon strings the best tone.
Sssshh....just listen! ... simply beautiful 🙏✨💕🌷🌿✨💕🌷🌿🙏💕🌷🌿🙏
Thank you for playing one of the most beautiful song I have heard.❤❤❤
See the movie, The Deer Hunter. It is where this song began. The movie is very tough, but beautiful.
This beautiful piece was not written for the film The Deer Hunter but for the 1970 film The Walking Stick.@@jazzladz5950
Este gran tema acaricia el alma ,estremece el corazón y me llena de dicha y gratitud por la grandeza y el misterio de la vida ❤❤
Ang linis ng tunog ng guitar..❤️
Galing mo si sir..👏👏👏
Absolutely beautiful.
Amen--Sad song, sad movie. USMC 1964-1968; Chu Lai; Phu Bai; Khe Sanh. 2 tours with artillery / ground combat units. Whenever I think of my friends who were KIA they will be 18 or 19 years old forever.
~So Gentle and beautiful ..
This is such a beautiful piece of music, so sad and yet so moving.
Absolutely stunnung.
Best version on youtube. So much soul.
Olavur, This performance is superb and the best to my ears.
Could not tell the difference between his and John Williams. The only two versions of the song I've ever heard that convey the emotion that Stanley Myers intended. Amazing!
Very moving performance. Excellent
All the right notes in the right order.
Marvellous.
amazing ! Tempo is all...... Beautiful !
This is a clinic in tempo. He pulls you in at the very beginning with a very slow tempo, then slowly increases, but not overdone. What emotion! Great performance of a great piece.
Perfekt!! Tak, hr. Jakobsen!
Beautifully played sir!
the best version i ever heard...guitar and orchestra interpretation absolutely simply beautiful
The best version I have ever heard
This music enters one being so beautiful a.n gently
Flawless performance , bravo
Stunningly well played. There are thousands of Cavatinas on TH-cam but this master guitarist is above them all
Totally agree
it's true...I've listened to dozens, but none can compare..
Except for the master, John Williams..
Good, but not as good as John Williams, which is the Deer Hunter.
Thousands of cavatinas I dont think so
Just sublime….it’s played regularly at wind of Lara hotel
this song is a good workout for the left hand and really tests your bar chord ability
The cleanest playing of this masterpiece I have seen on youtube.
Bravo
Olavur...without a word spoken your personality, your emotion comes out in your music...it's as if I know you!
Thanks for that!
This song scares me,
Makes me stand still,
At the edge of the precipice
of my soul.
Lindiíssssima!
Remarkable piece, well played, you have to watch the movie to feel the cast was going through at that period. Simply my favorite.
The guitars sings! So beautiful!
Beautiful but also very sad. !
Saludos desde México !!!!.
A well orchestrated version adding depth with violin and flute in an original way I liked it as well as his sensitive guitar playing
Amazing. Makes me cry.
