Absoloutely the most simple and best explanation I've seen about altering the torque limiter ! I'm an absoloute novice but I now understand how to not kill my engine altering that adjustment
i just bought the smps mpps v13 / but I watched you're vidios to get a better idea of what it could do and how well it worked. before I bought it and it looks like it works really well also you can make you're tuning adjustments witch is nice. I think I will have a lot of fun data logging and tunning
Small point. All Bosch ECUs operate on safety less is best. If you increase your torque limiter above the IQ limit, you'll get no more power. Your last crest would actually be flat across the 75mg/str line as it'll be the last limiter in the process flow. You'd need to increase your IQ limit to allow more mg/str. It might be worth having a chat about diesel EGTs and that the fuelling is inverse to petrol tuning.
i heard this is a clean way to gain some power, it looks less stressful than putting in a forced induction setup. i also heard to do this before doing forced induction. might give it a try
My PDK transmission also has a torque limiter. It can be turned off though the TCU computer by a tuner. If you turn it off, you will experience increased torque and a clutch that dont slip and increased traction. The downside is you give up that safety net. The Torque Limiter in the transmission prevents the transmission from experiencing a mechanical overload such as too much torque that could strip the gears or break a coupling or even the housing. In other words, one moment of fun you turn off the Torque limiter just to win that race then something easily preventable gets cracked or fractured and now you have to buy another $15,000 transmission. But at least you won the race. Lol.
Very informative thank you! Although I’m confused by your second comment @2:34... surely if max throttle is 75ml of fuel per stroke you can’t go any higher without changing injectors etc? Or would you have to adjust your fueling map to bring that 75ml cap higher?
Questions strictly related to the video. 1st one, if you just touch the drivers wish map and leave the MAF and torque limiters as original you should not expect black smoke on the pipe right? I mean, if those are made to keep the environment safe, and the MAF is limiting the fuel in relation to the lambda, I would assume that changing just the drivers wish, well is not a real "improvement" but as it will request more juice (Still on the safe zone) from the other two maps it will change the user experience right? Second one, if you decide to change drivers wish, MAF and Torque limiters, and the MAF is the one limiting the fuel in relation signal from lambda, the only way to keep it on the right point is to add more boost along with the fuel you are adding right? And if you do, the question is how do you know by how much should you increase the boost to match the fuel being injected? Just experimenting or is there a formula? The solution that comes to my mind is first touching the fuel maps, then turn the car on and test it while logging the output from lambda (that of course will be super rich), and with that start touching the boost maps. But is there any other way to start adjusting the boost before doing this test? or at least how to get some hint.
Hi bro the fuel ratio is added or increase as the rate of air coming to engine and if we tune the engine and we have to do hit and try and the best method is to see the o2 sensor reading the minimum O2 in that fuel ratio the best for mor check my website www.howtocustomize.com
I have a car gol g5 1.6 ea111 engine and the same gasoline I used the pole with turbinei (0.5 out of pressure) my car with half pedal amounts to the EPC light I heard that the center has meant that much torque for that position of the pedal so when she arrives at 4,500 rpm it closes I'm disabling the torque control? this my central
Hi just wondering if you be able to help me. As I am still a bit confused. I have an Audi A3 2L sports edition . Is there any way if I can send you my file that you could have a look at it for me. The help would be very appreciated. Plus I am trying to delete the EGR valve but with no luck.
After diesel scandal my cat has no torque and runners don’t seem to help :( would you be able to help me ? I have newest vcds if that could help!!! My 2015 Passat is all over the street once I go past 70mph! I had a 2012 tdi jetta and that car was a beast ! Please help me out
so on an old diesal car were the brain cant control the torque limiter or air mass and u wanted to do this eg 1.7 td u would have to do this manually on the injecter pump and the turbo wat would be the best way to do it and how would u be fit to tell when its getting the right amount of diesal and air and the best times for it wat would be the best way if that makes any sense ha?
For old fashioned non-electronic injection the limit is simply the fuel pump. If you can make the pump inject more fuel or install a bigger pump you'll get more power. For diesels it's easier because you can put in too much fuel and the engine will still run it'll just have a lot of black smoke. Check out "rolling coal" videos to see some crazy amounts of diesel injection.
hi there...great video by the way .Quick questions please , i have a mercedes W202 diesel year 2000, 88.000 miles , can i remapp it ? and how much would it be ? thanks
I don't understand the point of a torque limit map. Is it only active during transient conditions to limit smoke? as its fuel over manifold pressure I assume it will limit fuel until the boost pressure at any specific rpm matches the boost at a steady state condition. I.e. There would be no need for the map if there were zero turbo lag.
varnishvarnish If i understand correctly, it's a very swift way of adjusting the ECU map for multiple models of car. It also allows the manufacturer to simulate smooth power delivery even when there's more power available. Most consumers don't want a surge of boost or wheelspin so the torque limit allows it to be reduced.
Hello, I'm looking to purchase a tuning package, however unsure which one to go for. In your opinion would a ktag be best or mpps or is there better for around the same money? I'd like to do edc 16 ecu's if possible, Also is there an easy way to find out what type of ecu a vehicle has? (Ford)
I need to increase torque limiter map on mk7 Passat TDI! Could you recommend Any free or best software to do that with? I have a vcds cabl if that helps
Hi, really useful vid thx. q: i have a 2.2d jag which has just had new injectors fitted but when returned seems to have no power unless tur bo ispicking up where before there was real pulling power. at 70mph if you put your foot to the floor it pulled hard but now just 'gains speed' with no effort. could this be because the torque limiter has been set to a low curve?. anny assistance woul dbe appreciated
If you replaced your injectors it's not likely to do anything with your torque map. It sounds to me that you might get smaller injectors. If that's the case you -or someone who is confident enough to do a remap :) - should start working around your duration and SOI maps.
Im going to remap this week. I have 305 torque and my clutch max pressure is 380 torque. So what would be wise to do.. stay a little below 380?? Like 350?
Great vids! I've been subscribed for a few years, and really like the experiments and mods you're doing. Before that, I Remember the first thing I did to my first MB 190E was removing the rear silencer and putting a larger pipe in its place:D Failed the PKK (similar to your MOT I think), haha! Now I've had the A4 Avant 1.9TDI quattro for a few years. Swapped out the PD115 for a PD130 a couple of years back, started looking at VAGSuite and just resently ordered a MPPS clone. I've sort of been waiting for the turbo to fail, as an excuse to do some mechanical mods. Since that haven't happened, I've been doing a sound system instead:P Enough about me. Have you done any tuning on the A6 yet, or is the Polo the place where the magic happens? What about the "smoke limiter" map? *Feel free to continue this series:D I will definitely watch it!*
Forgive my ignorance, but can anyone tells the difference between a car tuned by WINOLS, and other tuning SW? In other word what do u mean by fine tuning?
Hey Guys, great video-thanks! Just a quick question, I have a 2009 Fiesta 1.6 tivct-non turbo petrol. It has a performance filter and a full decat exhaust system. I dont have alot of money to spend on this car but would love a bit more power when taking off-I have ordered the Galletto ECU flasher tool and have the ECU Titanium app- can I use the program to edit my car's map?
which maps should I look at modding and which should I leave out? The car sometimes feels like its lacking power until it hits a certain rev range then it picks up again. The 0-100 km/h is sometimes slow and the car seems to max out at 150km/h-its like it needs more fuel or something.
i have read my ecu MAP with mpps and then opened it in vag edc15p suite ..but im unsure if it has been remapped before is there any way of telling golf tdi mk4 130bhp any help would be much appreciated
Steven Yates VAG means Volkswagen Automotive Group, an Evo isn't a VW. The Evos have plenty of aftermarket support. They might make something for your Evo but an isnt a VAG vehicle.
So why do prof tuners still use the WinOLS SW then..! even me I find it little bite difficult ... :S And I keep hearing that its the best SW in the market .!
Iv got a Kess V2 alientech on the way, im going to read my flash on the fiesta 1.6tdci psa EDC16, Can i still use vagsuite to edit the file or is this soely for Vag? Cheers annoymous
uhmm lets see! if i got a 250 cc bike that means 11ml 2sec injection, so if i bore it for 350cc means x=(350*11)/250 x= 15.4ml 2 secs right ? in that case, may i use the same needle injector and trothle body (with more pressure (PC III or V) or do i need change it all (and why?) may i use megatunix to remap the original ecu ? thanks a lot!
Bikes use gasoline engines. Air/fuel mass ratio must be constant about 14. The more fuel you deliver the more air engine requires. Diesel engine work with excess of air. Air/fuel ratio is not so critical. That's why you can inject up to +20% more fuel. What you got is more power and black smoke from exhaust.
hi bro :-D i make chiptuning too :-) i use ecm .... 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB :-) MPPS do it checksum !!!! if you dont calculate checksum your car start only 1 and than ecu has blocked.. !!!!! They must desolder flash and program with programer. 10 milibar on turbo pressure is to low :-)

Although I’m confused by your second comment @2:34... surely if max throttle is 75ml of fuel per stroke you can’t go any higher without changing injectors etc? Or would you have to adjust your fueling map to bring that 75ml cap higher?
In most cases the injectors have more to give than the factory map. I was just using 75 as an example.
How can I increase throttle response
U mention 3 ways to change torque limiter map, which is best?
So let’s say I have a weak gearbox, by limiting Beth Work produced, I should be able to keep it together?

vPerformance
can you limit torque not limiting hp ? for example 535d 380hp and torque limited 650nm?
Horsepower is just torque x RPM. This limit is really limiting fuel injection across the RPM range, but it's called a torque limiter.
How do you bring full torque under 2 RPM.
Excellent video! Keep on tuning! :)

How is possible to add values on map by percentage not only by addition or multiply with Vag EDC Suite?
+thirdman26 multiple by a decimal figure. For example, multiply by 1.15 for a 15% increase, or by 0.80 for a 20% decrease.

Isn't torque limiting designed to keep your drive train alive? If you increase the torque map, won't it reduce the life of your drive train?
It is what he said!
where do you get the software to tune vagedcsuite?
clear and simple explanation thanks
Can the VAG suite be used on an EVO 8 with forged everything and larger blower?

What software do you use to modify your ecu map?
excellent video
Can you modifi me a golf4 alh map ?
Why factory ecu need remap? If can increase performance why the car company didn't do it at first place, someone Pls answer Tq
More power, cheap, with risk of reduced engine life.
@@vPerformance it's like overclock graphic card, tq for telling me😅
Exactly!
Oh gawd yes. WinOls is like using MS-DOS and VAGSuite is like Windows 7.
brilliant vid, thanks

Nice, I like this video.
what program you use to remap ?
+Vytautas Bikinas This is a free program called VAGsuite
+vPerformance thanks for answer, i have one more for you, VAGsuite regonize all cars map ? or just audi vw ?
+Vytautas Bikinas it recognize all you need for edc15 in the VAG group :) easy to remap with
+Vytautas Bikinas just vag group cars I'm afraid.
TY
he's talking about diesels
why do u have a cow

Hey, i have a lot of maps for a lot of cars. If anyone is intrested let me know.
There is a COW mate
Hi, you're very handsome! I wasn't able to focus on what you were saying most of the time X'D
Uhhhh thanks. Try to concentrate though!
Ok
More fuel = more torque
That would be a good tattoo
Greetings from Russia
you're cool!

9/11 was indeed an inside job.
you right.
the whiteboard comments rule !

Subscribe for a race fuel 🤣 … thanks for the video and informations
I was able to get over 9000 RPM out of my 06 STI ;)
get more power but decreases fuel economy. hehehe
I had a 2012 Jetta tdi and after removing government with obd11 I was able to go 195mph (verified with phone gps) can you explain that? My engine 2.0CR trans CJA-A (btw I might still have some of VCDS logs at home)
Can I explain why it went so fast? Nope.
what software are you using for fix correct checksums ?
VAGSuite has built in checksum calculation
Ok
Okay!
