John Kramer is one of the most hypocritical murders ever, I swear. Even just things like him not wanting Logan to die because of "an honest mistake" when the whole reason he got put into the game was because he made a mistake.
Yeah but his whole "premise" is getting these people to "win" their life back. If he didn't even get a chance, then it's totally in line with Jigsaw's ideology to give him another chance since he never actually got a chance to fight for his life in the initial game. 34:45 The two unknown apprentices who joined Gordon in intercepting Hoffman are apparently Brad and Ryan from the Public Execution / Love Triangle Trap, according to the producers commentary.
I noticed in the first Saw Movie that Lawrence's phone in the bathroom is set at September 10th, 2001 at 12 PM. While I do believe the time itself may be an error, I looked into the date a bit further. I also looked at the newspaper clipping with Seth Baxter's Murder in it. It was dated June 11th, but June 11th was also labeled Monday. The most recent Monday before this Saw Film was made was 2001. Therefore, Seth Baxter's Murder, the beginning of Hoffman's Apprenticeship, and the games with Paul, Other Mark, and Amanda took place in a matter of weeks, possibly just days. In 2001, not 2004.
I'm quite impressed that the continuity holds so well given the series' extreme usage of flashbacks, flashbacks within flashbacks, reveals layering on top of flashback.
My favorite thing is how we go from John just laying on the floor the whole first movie to him having some of the greatest dialogue and scenes in saw 2. It shows how much tobins impact plays into the series..
You’re a miracle worker. I’ve been googling saw timeline trying to find how many months/years the movies take place over but all I can find are articles on which order to watch the movies in/when they take place in the order. This seems pretty dang accurate to me. I had no idea Hoffmanator was in hiding for like 8 months or so during saw 7, that’s wild. Thanks so much and can’t wait to see your video on saw x!
What I don't understand is how Jill was allowed to just...keep that box John left for her. First, if it was left in his will that would go through probate and be public record. Second, one would think given John's status as, you know, a prolific serial killer, even if he put it in a trust that avoids probate the law would say 'hold up, show us what's in the box'.
John Kramer was born on September 3, 1953. Also, Logan still got into his game after returning from the war, in my opinion, somewhere in the summer of 2005, and at the same time the "10 years ago" is perfect. Also, I think that the events of Spiral take place in 2019, not in 2021, as this is the year when the film was shot.
Such a well done video! Thank You for putting this all together for us! I’m recovering from surgery and needed some good TH-cam videos to keep my mind off of everything and 10/10 you definitely made me forget watching this!
So, if there's currently 3 active jigsaws, with 2 of them being actual Jigsaw apprentices, does this mean they're aware of each other's existence? Also, who actually carries out John's legacy, because John punished Amanda and Hoffman because they cheated on their games by making them unwinnable or just straight up killing people? Lastly, is it possible the two remaining apprentices know each other personally due to the closeness in the timeline to knowing/working with John Kramer? I have so many questions because the film series is currently incomplete.
Minor fan of the Saw movies, like this video. Just want to say thanks for the extra effort of placing the mid rolls! So many channels an ad will play halfway through the sentence so I appreciate the extra time editing for a better viewing experience. Not a huge horror fan but subbing bc watching someone who is passionate about the topic is entertaining even if I’m not.
First off, I want to say... Love this timeline. Well done. The only thing I think may be off is the Gideon Meat Plant and John's son Gideon. Im fairly certain that John named the meat packing plant after his unborn son, not the other way around. I could be wrong, but Im pretty sure that was the story. It doesnt affect much of anything, but just something to note.

Thank You, Cz for always keeping alive my love for SAW movies. And big props to you for decoding this timeline most entertainingly. Man, I can't wait for SAW X.
I would love to know more about those unseen traps when Jigsaw first started working! I assume the bodies were too mangled like you said. It was probably fire or acid.
I just saw SAW X in theaters and enjoyed every second of it. Without trying to spoil anything, I believe this gave an engaging chapter in John Kramer's life and paid homage to the original series so well. Although I've watched Saw since the beginning and was familiar with twists, Saw X still manages to pull off surprising twists. Please note SAW X has a mid-credits scene that I recommend staying to watch as well. Unfortunately, the theater where I saw this was nearly empty. I only saw five other people in it. Although an afternoon showing, weekends were usually peak times for theaters though many might've watched Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie instead when it debuted alongside SAW X. I hope any who are able will watch SAW X in theaters.
I literally just saw it in theaters yesterday and honestly it became my new favorite Saw movie and if the series keeps up in this way I am so excited for it to go that way. For me on the way to the theater I was talking about how I was worried the series would become similar to the fast and furious where it was "jumping the shark" so to speak where stuffy came crazy and crazier to the point where it just breaks your immersion in the movie however they did amazing with this movie
I was waiting for a new Saw video from Zack/CZ when I first saw the trailer for Saw X. It’s cool how he was able to incorporate the newest film into the timeline despite it not being out at the time of posting. The prototype Barn Game, the Nerve Gas House, and plans to punish William Easton and Robert Dagan always get my “poetic/grim but oddly fitting justice” sensors tingling. Edward Nigma or Anarky Jigsaw is not, but I think that parts of Bell’s iconic character went into developing their versions for the Batman Arkham series of video games. Looking at you, Arkham City and Arkham Origins.

@@ByAzuraByAzuraByAzuraexactly. Let's be real. Saw movies are a fun watch but it's incredibly bad writing
@@davidjorge4135 Serial Killers IRL tend to have incoherent ideology.
34:45 The two unknown apprentices who joined Gordon in intercepting Hoffman are apparently Brad and Ryan from the Public Execution / Love Triangle Trap, according to the producers commentary.
Good to know that. I've been wondering who they were.
the ad breaks are so clever, i can‘t even be mad about waiting 30 seconds
13:38 You took the words out of my mouth 😂😂😂
I'm quite impressed that the continuity holds so well given the series' extreme usage of flashbacks, flashbacks within flashbacks, reveals layering on top of flashback.
I love how everything is connected! The twists are great, but the gore is a little much
This was excellent, very well put together, thank you! I'm all caught up and ready for Saw X now.
My favorite thing is how we go from John just laying on the floor the whole first movie to him having some of the greatest dialogue and scenes in saw 2. It shows how much tobins impact plays into the series..
From one content creator to another, this was so detailed and I can see how much time and effort was put into this video. Great work!
better help these nuts
You’re a miracle worker. I’ve been googling saw timeline trying to find how many months/years the movies take place over but all I can find are articles on which order to watch the movies in/when they take place in the order. This seems pretty dang accurate to me. I had no idea Hoffmanator was in hiding for like 8 months or so during saw 7, that’s wild. Thanks so much and can’t wait to see your video on saw x!
Great work as always. You notice a lot more than some other good movie analysists. "Gettin jiggy with it" 😂🤘
This helps because every time a Saw movie comes out I have to refresh my memory with all of the twists and turns and supporting character storylines.
I really like the hints from movies and you making us awere of it. Like clues from diplomas, newspapers etc. Thank you Czs
Finally! I've been waiting for a new saw video, great as always!
When I tell you this video connected ALL the dots. This was brilliant dude. Can’t wait to see the updated one with Saw X.
Man you deserve huge props for these videos. So thought out and well done. Great work dude.
This man is truly the pinnacle of lore.
Can't wait for the updated timeline after the release of Saw X
We all waited years for this, the completion of the saga.
Thanks!
And thank you for the support!! 💀
Thank you for making this content Zac
I know you guys work hard and I want you to know it's appreciated 🐢
I love the amount of work you put into putting all this together.
Such a well done video! Thank You for putting this all together for us! I’m recovering from surgery and needed some good TH-cam videos to keep my mind off of everything and 10/10 you definitely made me forget watching this!
You did it. You made the timeline. Been waiting for this since hearing the producers commentary talk about it.
What about Zep?
I love the dedication you have to timeline vids. Your intelligence and ability to explain things is very attractive.
Thanks so much for making this, it'll be very helpful to me and probably many others
Great video ! I’m super impressed with the attention to detail, I love all the context this gives to the series
You are amazing , the work you put into this is mind boggling.
I’ve been sitting on the toilet for ten mins now waiting for come across the right video. Thank you, I can finally rest.
It's ironic that betterhelp sponsored this
That’s not ironic it’s a coincidence
@@JayyJay92it’s ironic because betterhelp is a shitty counseling platform much like how John Kramer was a terrible life coach
You definitely make the best, most interesting, well thought out SAW analysis videos.
It doesnt affect much of anything, but just something to note.
idk why but BetterHelp sponsoring this video is hilarious
awesome video, i found your channel the other day and binge watched all your Saw stuff 😊 i can’t wait for the new film!
I watched this to prepare for Saw X tonight! Thank you for this!!! I’m so excited!!
fantastic video as per usual! i loved watching this and i’m all the more excited for the new saw 💗
34:48 confirmed by an audio commentary, the 2 other pigs who were with gordon were the 2 boys in the public trap
All this work and reserarch its amazing. Congrats CZ, keep the great work, amazing video, I love the saw franchise! Please do a video from saw X in the future!
Crazy how i just bunged the entire series and i start to watch your old timeline you come out with this!
This was the best thing to open up TH-cam today to, THIS IS WHAT WE NEEDED FOR SAWTENBER. Thanks CZs!
ALSO IM SO GLAD YOU BROUGHT THE "BRUTALITY!" GAG BACK I LOVE IT LOL
Oh CZ! I really respect you as a creator! Please rethink a future sponsorship from better help. They're a notoriously shady company that hurts rather than helps those with mental health problems. Be wary!!
26:28 Amanda telling that to Jeff’s daughter is such a smart detail
Thank You, Cz for always keeping alive my love for SAW movies. And big props to you for decoding this timeline most entertainingly. Man, I can't wait for SAW X.
Omg I have been waiting so long for this. Ty
Excellent work, as always
SO HAPPY WAITING FOR CZ TO EXPLAIN THE NEW CONJURING LORE IN THE THE NUN 2!!!🎉
I would love to know more about those unseen traps when Jigsaw first started working! I assume the bodies were too mangled like you said. It was probably fire or acid.
I love how careful you were to say "tightular" instead of titular lol
I saw it yesterday night in AKL, NZ
I saw it last weekend and loved it. Theater had maybe 10 folks but it was a matinee 😊
@beckyanderson988 what do you mean by 'jumping the shark?' And 'stuffy came crazy?'
I absolutely love all of the work that must have been put into this. 😊 Amazing job!
Thank you very much, I have been looking for a long time to understand the timeline of my favorite horror film franchise.
