Congratulations on your new home! I am a realtor in California and I am impressed by your homework. One advice I would like to add about the schools is that the websites such as Redfin, Zillow etc sometimes have inaccurate information about schools. The best way is to plug in that address in the school district website and that will give you the exact elementary, middle, and High school.

Good tips for sure but I think the first and most important step is getting pre qualified and getting the pre approval letter and knowing how much one qualifies for , this helps in determining the budget and then we can short list properties in that price range and also knowing your debt to income ratio
And Finding a good realtor
Another imp thing is , esp when one has kids , is finding a good school district

One point u might have included is not buying too much house as they say simply coz ur mortgage approves it vs starting w a v more modest easy to make mortgage per month -often people buy as big as they r allowed to then stretch themselves to limit each month. Which suburb did u buy in then if I may ask ?

I’m not Indian I’m Italian trying to understand something. On my street a Indian family moved in across the street from me and is not trying to buy everyone’s house on my street. There’s 11 people in 3 bedroom house. I can understand wanting more space. But I don’t understand why they are trying to buy literally everybody’s house on the street. I don’t get
