    Definitely, his talent was off the charts against weaker opponents ? But how do you compare his off the charts against stronger teams and the top 10 ? Specially, when his offensive line, couldn’t maintain that protection he would lose his concentration, and eventually the game , just look at some of the games he lost against top 10 teams , just saying they’re all just prospects , once you get in the NFL everything is much faster you gotta think twice as fast compared to college !!

      You hit on the head! The team as a whole had no talent compared to him. USC was terrible except for Williams. You could argue Rice was good but he’s likely a 3rd round pick which is not a top prospect.

    Love your analysis and deep dive Brother. However I'm of the opinion that Caleb Williams is just as good as Justin Fields is right now! And in my humble opinion will either be more of a Drew Brees Russell Wilson type of manager and playmaker as opposed to a Patrick Mahomes. And you've coupled that talent with a GM who seemingly knows what he's doing within the financial parameters that you laid out and also trying to get out from under the stigma of the Bears organization not being a desirable place for players to come.

      Agreed, can’t argue with nothing you said. My only concern with Caleb is leadership & scrutiny in having to play right away.

      @@sevinbamuels6560 I most certainly did arrive at that conclusion. The same conclusion I came to about CJ Stroud in comparison to Justin Fields ahead of the draft.... I personally set aside all the would have should have could have about Justin Fields ...and just look at the talent as it stands right now. The Bears can't make the same mistake and this is yet another opportunity to get it right.

      @@draftcapitalsports5566 and that is why I would hope that the Bears go out and get Ryan Tannehill as insurance and that veteran presence after the draft if he's still available. I think he still has some game in him and has shown that he can be a step above a game manager with adequate pieces around him. Poles may want to mirror what KC did with Mahomes sitting behind Alex Smith. That way Caleb can see how a veteran conducts himself the team. That's just my opinion.

    Lol. You think it's the owners actually money is the issue. I love the research but you should look at the net spending on players for Chicago. The owners spend money. The only times they don't is when they are rebuilding. But the fall into the top 5 of spending a lot. Think 2018. Think now. Think 2006. All of which they were top 5 in spending. The actual money spent on players isnt an issue. 😅

      @@draftcapitalsports5566 I knew him decently enough. I do similar things that you do. Just not on YT. But money salary cap wise made sense. Yes. Money ownership.. no. Currently the bears are 12th in spending.
      The build:
      23 18th 22 32nd 21 24th
      So you see the rise right?
      Ok now for pace:
      20 12th 19 28th 18 1st.
      I'm not at all trying to sound rude. It's literally how teams build. 1st year new GM. Clears the books, 2nd year builds heavily thru the draft. Aquire draft capital. Year 3 build around and spend up.
      Same can be said for most Franchises. Ryan Poles moving on from Fields was about Fields contract yes. But not because of the owners financially. It was because of spending big on a QB means he better be the guy because you don't have salary space to explore big free agents, extensions, nor trades for high cost players
      Rookie QB contact means you can do all these things. It was a no brainer situation. Sadly enough because I love Fields. My main point of this argument is the owners are not the reason for the bears lack of spending in the past.

    I think it’s basically a lock that da Bears will be drafting C.Williams. His talent is off the charts imo. Plus the fact that K.Allen (who Williams already knows) showed up just for his pro day is telling imo. The media and fans who complain about what Williams likes to do with his nails, clothes or phone covers 😂 etc… need to grow up. So what if his fashion style isn’t something that you or I like. The McCaskeys have PLENTY of money! Poles never said that it was evenly a 50/50 financial move. Also Teams have to stay under the cap, they can't just pay a fine like the NBA.

      @ogdondadda 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Bonuses do impact the salary cap. They're just prorated over the span of the contract. For the purposes of explaining this easily, let's say you sign player X to a 4 year/50M deal broken down to 10M/year with a 10M signing bonus. That 10M signing bonus counts as 2.5M against the cap in each of the 4 years

    • @draftcapitalsports5566
      @draftcapitalsports5566  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ogdondadda Bonuses can impact the cap but what I'm referring to in the video is bonuses are not solid cap numbers which is why teams move base salaries to bonus money to get under the cap. That bonus money comes from ownership & team revenue outside the cap allocation. I also stated that the reason the Bears trade for high dollar players & don't sign them is to avoid paying all the bonus money on high value contracts. I can go deeper but it would be too long.
