Nico is a wizard or something. He's like one of those guys that takes a pen and trades it for a stapler then trades the stapler for something else and next thing you know he trades for a house...but he only started with a pen. Mavs need to give Nico anything he wants to keep him long term. He's not replaceable.
Would love a Maxi deep dive some time; go into his impact on the court, the decline in his offense, what his defense is worth now and possible trades who could fill his exact role in a better way.
Meh….Brunson is a max guy (even though he took a little less money). He’s a bad off ball player. Bad defender too. Better to sign and trade so you at least get draft picks, but he would never be what Kyrie is for this team. He’s just a PG (and another ball dominant one) like Luka.
If they extend Brunson they probably don't trade for Kyrie. I'm fine with how this turned out. Brunson was probably not turning into the player he is now in the role that the Mavs needed him in.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t make any moves at trade deadline. The only thing that can make us better is a backup PF and we have Omax there already. The kid is young has has room to grow. He has potential and I’m sure the coaches see this. I would be nice to get another PF but buttttt I can understand why they would feel comfortable going forward with this team.
Wish Nico didn’t have to use up valuable assets to recover after letting Brunson simply walk. What would you be saying about Donnie Nelson if he was not overruled by Cuban when he wanted to draft Giannis Antetokounmpo, who he dubbed the next Dr.J. Dirk may have had a second championship?
@@nomorepartiezz OMax is getting his minutes to pump up his trade value. I truly believe that Dallas can get Herb Jones. It'll take Maxi & Hardy to make the salaries work. But OMax and some combination of the draft picks should be enough. I love OMax but Herb Jones ALREADY is what we hope OMax can become. So why should we tie our Championship dreams to the HOPE of a player when you can go get the dude he MAY become in a year or two.
Im going to let Nico do Nico things. If he does a trade great if not then keep moving. Hes done everything that us real MFFL’s who remember the bad have asked.
nico not resigning brunson was a miss for me. getting kyrie did negate that though. coach kidd definitely a hit. mavs went to conference finals his first year beating more talented teams. then went to the finals in his 3rd year, developing players probably his major strength.
It honestly is getting annoying the amount of adds per minute of content in this.... everytime it feels more and more like a Comercial placeholder than anything else.
@@Mr.Thomas_Anderson we aren’t trying to be a “solid team” man. we’re trying to win a championship. Luka is turning 26, the window to win a championship is now or within the next few years, and that is the way the team is set up between Kyrie and Klay being in their 30s and every other core player besides Lively entering their prime years right now. Like I said Luka has made a finals and is entering his prime years, there’s no more time to mess around being satisfied with being just a decent team that sometimes overachieves in the playoffs.
@ no Obviously. But Kyrie/Klay team isn’t beating Boston in 7, no matter how many 1sts Nico gives up. Mavs should ride it out so they can draft/reevaluate this offseason
There is nothing Dallas can do to beat Boston or Oklahoma City, those teams are simply way, way too stacked from top to bottom. That's just what it is. So they probably shouldn't make any trades for the time being and just see how things shake out for some other teams over the nest year or so. Trying to catch up with the current Celtics or Thunder is like spitting in the wind.
Nico is a beast!!! I even applaud the McGee & Wood moves. They didn't work out but at least he was trying!!! Cause if you rewind...the Warriors exposed a massive flaw with the Mavs. They had ZERO big men. The Dwight Powell & Maxi experiment had failed. And it didn't take Nico too long to fix that issue.
Larry nance, Lonzo ball to fill all our holes today on the low. Brandon Ingram is the big swing we can also get for the low like kyrie. No one is thinking about Brandon Ingram. BI and POA defender makes this team a dynasty.
You are insane if you think the West is weak. The west has 4 teams with 20+ wins the East has 2 that’s it. Wolves are .500 team and they are 10th seed being .500 in the East gets you a top 6 seed.
The ‘25 and ‘26 draft classes are quality. Mavs have both 1sts. Giving them up to get DFS/Kuzma or a backup 4 is crazy. Ride this season out then draft and develop
@@Mr.Thomas_Anderson brother the Mavs’ window to win a championship the way they’re currently constructed is NOW. We need players who are ready now and are about to or are just starting their primes (Luka, PJ, Gafford, Naji, Grimes, etc are all mid 20s) or seasoned vets with championship experience (Kyrie, Klay). Notice how Lively is the only core player that doesn’t fit into one of those groups and that’s because he’s an anomaly and was amazing out of the gate. We don’t have time to help project draft picks like Hardy and Omax slowly develop if you can get someone like Herb Jones or Cam Johnson.

I haven't seen the Mavs roster salary this year. I wonder if they're supposed to retain Luka, Kai, Dlive, Gaff, PJ, Naji, Grimes in the next 2-3 seasons, how the numbers would look like?
Lively will be on a rookie contract for a while, Gafford is getting his market value already (unless his numbers become so good he gets more money thrown at him), Kyrie will continue making about the same (he just signed an extension 16 months ago), PJ will make a little more, Naji’s value is definitely going up at least $5 million a year, and Grimes is going to be looking for more money (since he just turned down an extension). I’d say they’re most likely to lose Grimes but keep everyone else. If they win a ring he may stay around for a couple of seasons to win more but at some point he has to try to get a contract to secure his future and there are teams he might be able to to start for. He would be the easiest to replace but it would definitely make winning a ring in the future more difficult.

Nico is a genius! Gaf, PJ, Grimes, Naji, Dinwiddie, and Lively.
What makes it incredible is he started with basically no assets. He was trading bench players and nobodies to get those players somehow.
Merry Christmas/Fröhlihche Weihnachten to the whole mavs community and ofc the hosts Nick, Slightly and Isaac.
The Mavs have the PERFECT roster construction for the new salary cap era. Under the new Cap, you just CANNOT pay Max money to non-Max players.
Should be no more trade. The Mavs chemistry are progressing now and getting better just right in time for the next Championship run.
