Ventus is mostly connected to Sora, but Sora always aspired to be like Riku. Interesting connection there.
I think its because everyone in kingdom hearts has some connection to there friends except some and ventus has a connection to sora and sora has a connection to riku so I'm guessing that ventus because he has a connection with sora he might have 1 with riku so vanitas manifested himself with the connection of sora and riku in turn made him look like sora and play like riku and have rikus suit from kh1

In kh1, Young Sora and Riku fighting each other and riku's stance was different earlier in the game, then later on his stance looked familiar to Xehanort. I'm going destroy that "Vanitas/sora" theory. In DDD, you'll see young Xehanort talking to sora, then you'll see transparent vanitas besides YX, that's when ventus heart started to react to vanitas' transparent appearance. The only reason why vanitas was transparent to sora because vanitas wasn't in Sora's heart. (Sora doesn't see vanitas either) Not only that, when riku went inside of Sora's heart, Riku found ventus, roxas, and xion. Those are the people who are connected and inside of sora. Riku found no trace of vanitas. Now, As for the vanitas/riku theory, (Back to the DDD scene) if vanitas was with riku, then vanitas transparent appearance shouldn't be beside Young Xehanort. Why wasn't riku there along with transparent vanitas if vanitas was within riku's heart? Why is vanitas essence at different place? Shouldn't his essences be within riku's? Simply because vanitas wasn't in riku's heart. For example, Vanitas reacted to Ventus' presence within Sora (ventus heart is within sora and Ventus also reacted back to vanitas). You'll see vanitas' essence within Young Xehanort, not riku.

I'm probably not the first person to realize this but when Vanitas in UX says that Ven wanted power he was talking about how Ven wanted to have and protect friends more than anything. In this fight Ven even says "My friends are my power, and I'm theirs", Vanitas was just finding a workaround to mess with the Union Leaders

I wish there was a full track of his theme arranged like it is there! It's so mournful, in a way, and reminds me somewhat of Riku's theme when played like that.
I'm a 31 year old woman. A damn adult. And every time Roxas's theme kicks in around 1:08, I ugly cry. Apparently this game affected me more than I thought it did!
It doesn't matter how old I get, 30, 50, 99, I will ugly cry at KH or anything that kills me emotionally because it lets me know that stories can still deeply affect me!
honestly what really made this theme for me was the moment Sora's theme starts playing at 1:54 and until 2:23. It's Sora's theme, but it's mostly somber and tragic, which at that time were definitely not words you'd ever have applied to Sora or to his theme. There's this feeling of both unease and absolute awe at hearing it played like that, it feels foreboding and sad at the same time, it's the one time the song calms down as if to tell you "Listen. Listen, something is wrong." before going back into a frenzy. I love it to death and am really sad that part wasn't included in the KHIII version.
Yeah. Reminds me how in the manga for the game, vanitas was given the trait that his unversed, they hurt him to be destroyed. And they were products of his dark emotions spilling out. Unknowing of how to stop the pain, Master Xehanort told him that it would stop if he could forge the X-blade. All he wanted to do was stop feeling pain, and all he got in the end was sadness and a return to darkness from whence he came. Absolutely heart breaking. Especially when he reaches for the X-blade and he just is trying desperately to be whole. And then they ruined it in KH3. Or rather hinted at it in Union cross and completely changed his character in 3. Where he feels no remorse or pain. Just bottling it up and being a lame bad guy because... DARKNESS.
Terra's final fight was insane and Aqua's was a great ending, but this fight was the one that felt the most like a "final boss" to me. Vanitas was Ven's nemesis and having the final fight taking place inside his heart was the icing on the cake.
Bad memories? That is because bbs is the second worst kh game of all time. Also, every damn vanitas boss fight including his superboss variant is poorly designed anyway. My terrible experience with bbs will stick with me for life

It’s weird how throughout the whole game I thought Vanitas was some different form of Riku because of all the similarities but then the face reveal happened and I was super confused why it looked like Sora
This boss fight was just cruel in my opinion. He's fine up till that final damage phase, where it feels like you need luck to be on your side to actual finish Vanitis off. Other than that, this boss was a fitting and exciting end to Ventus' story.
Hanna Booklover true they both have different looks about them. Sora kinda appeals to Disney fans, while Vanitas appeals to everyone else. In character and visually 😏

Dumdum Pow Yeah, pretty much. You could beat any boss by spamming Thunder Surge and Shotlocks and a majority of the commands are useless or make you a sitting duck. Regular attacks are worthless because bosses rarely flinch, have ridiculous revenge values or do very little damage. D-Links do absolutely nothing except heal you and give you some okay buffs like EXP+ or Munny+. That’s pretty much the main theme with BBS’s gameplay: worthless.

Memento Despair KH3 was probably the worst of all for game mechanics. The easiest game I have ever played, no enemy is even remotely a challenge. Animations and ideas are awesome, but you're just way too fuckin OP
MilkyyM8 critical wasn't too hard as well. I don't consider myself any good at video games, and yet I made myself a rule to never use attractions because they're waaay too OP. And I still almost never died, except for Xehanort 2-3 times maybe
I can recite this entire pre-boss cutscene by heart, I might have a problem tbh it's just iconic to me, with the call forward to Sora's line and the way the music syncs up with Ventus' speech. BBS' writing is kinda hit or miss overall, but the final acts of each character have some absolute bangers
I punched a hole in my wall cuz of this fight and I watched them play it and I'm like it was that easy all along. I had to do the special sequence like 30 times before it worked
yea 2.5 birth by sleep is easier than the original. That part where you have to finish vanitas off, you didn't auto heal during the transition in the original birth by sleep instead that transition was when you were supposed to heal yourself because once the final bit started, you weren't getting any more health.
Ventus has met Sora. The start of Birth by Sleep when Xehanort leaves Ventus on Destiny Islands, Ventus goes into his cracked Station of Awakening( i think) and meets the newly-born Sora, who then repairs Ventus' Station of Awakening and probably lets Ventus form his Keyblade again. But if you are talking about face to face, then yeah. He actually hasn't met Sora yet...
@@DuderofDudeness he didn't do anything too magical though He basically made a connection with him, and that filled the missing half of Ventus' heart with his own light Which is why Ventus was basically the same as a Princess of Heart And it was previously established such bonds was a fundamental force and more than metaphorical figure of speech in this universe; like when Namine removed the links between Sora's memories, almost everybody else who's ever met him forgot who he was. And when she created false memories and links, it even affected the physical form of objects like Sora's good luck charm
I'm not really a fan of bosses that randomly add in a quick time event when the game never had them to begin with. If it was kingdom hearts 2, that can be forgiven cause Reaction commands already are quick time events.

So let me get this straight, ventus' heartless is the grown up of a kid he hasn't met yet?
Ventus has met Sora. The start of Birth by Sleep when Xehanort leaves Ventus on Destiny Islands, Ventus goes into his cracked Station of Awakening( i think) and meets the newly-born Sora, who then repairs Ventus' Station of Awakening and probably lets Ventus form his Keyblade again.
But if you are talking about face to face, then yeah. He actually hasn't met Sora yet...

He basically made a connection with him, and that filled the missing half of Ventus' heart with his own light
Which is why Ventus was basically the same as a Princess of Heart
And it was previously established such bonds was a fundamental force and more than metaphorical figure of speech in this universe; like when Namine removed the links between Sora's memories, almost everybody else who's ever met him forgot who he was.
And when she created false memories and links, it even affected the physical form of objects like Sora's good luck charm

Great theme remix for Ven’s final boss , not a very smooth transition from the beginning of it to when it picks up though, just like the original.

I'm not really a fan of bosses that randomly add in a quick time event when the game never had them to begin with.
If it was kingdom hearts 2, that can be forgiven cause Reaction commands already are quick time events.
