honestly for me as malaysians from sabah. kelantan food is number 1... and they are the most friendly and always smiling... it is the mixed sauces that make it nasi kandar. if you skip it, it's just an ordinary meal... Kelantan is also famous for beautiful girls. hehehe
In Kelantan, food and drinks are usually a bit too sweet compared to other states. When I go to Kelantan, I always order tea or iced lime or empty iced lime without sugar to cut down on high blood sugar. Kelantan special food is mee celup (noodles), mee chambol (noodles), nasi tumpang (sharing rice), nasi kerabu, kerabu kaki ayam (chicken feet), laksam, pulut ikan campur kelapa (sticky rice fish mixed with coconut), nasi dagang, kuih akok, kuih nekbat sira (very sweet), kuih buah tanjung , kuih cek mek molek, ayam percik (chicken bbq with coconut milk).
the people in Southeast Asia really 'hate' hot weather...we love snow and winter season haha..thats why we love travel to Europe, Japan or South Korea... here even if the destination is only 500m away, we gonna ride a motorcycle or car ...we like hot sunny weather if we do an outdoor activities... I had travelled 3 month in Europe..Norway,Belgium and England in the winter season.. I know European hate winter season and just staying at home during that time but im enjoyed it...I walked for 2hours in temperature of -15°C ... I can walk around 5km in this type of weather.. but I never do that in Malaysia haha
yes If u go to the state like Kedah,Perlis or Kelantan...the price for food is more cheaper...thats why many family had worked in KL for 5-10 years cameback to these state because the cost of living is more low compared to the big city like KL or any Southern state

The black kuih is 'Bubur suro' or Asyuro. Every states have their own kinds. In Kelantan they mix rice, meat, corn, sugar and some other spices. They only make it once a year during month of muharram islamic calendar.

You can take a walk around there as well. If you need to go to the beach, take a grab to PCB (Pantai Cahaya Bulan). Enjoy you stay✌️😉
While in Kota Baru, if you have the time you might try to make a day trip to the town of Golok just cross the bridge to Thailand. I am not sure whether visa is required for Swedish passport can enquire at the border immigration office if no visa needed you both can make a trip & spend the day in Golok market place eating some Thai food and return to Kota Baru. In the afternoon.🎉

I did go into town in my shorts, wasn’t aware that it should be an issue. I always do my morning walk/hike in shorts and did the same here and met the most kind and friendly people like we do all over Malaysia 🇲🇾♥️🇲🇾♥️
