That was freaking awesome. I’m from Florida and I’ll never complain about fishing in cold water again. I can’t believe you are catching fish on a frozen lake
Thx. I think both the fish and I are slow from the cold! So as long as they don't thrash, we can use some finesse to get the job done to minimize the damage. Hope to catch it again sometimes soon!
Your determination to fish was rewarded. It was an expressive effort. But what was more important was how you saved that bass's life. Loved that surgery you performed. Be blessed. My friend.
It was definitely one crazy trip lol. 45 mins to get to open water. But got two nice videos out of it! I'm happy woot! Same trip as the one where I spine rigged for some nice fish!
very cool lure! I picked up some of the Eurotackle Nage swimbaits recently, and I'm going to start off with those. Hopefully they work as well as that one. They are going to have to wait until it gets warmer because I'm not as brave as you! lol
I am done for the year too. Been cold and freezing. And windy and rainy. I think the lake gotta be open at the main lake.. But back lake is likely frozen and thicker lol Enjoy those swimbaits!
I picked up some bucca trick shads from my work and I can’t wait to throw them for some giant stripers. Thank you jimbo for the content that upgrade was insane. I say hell ya count that as 2 catches !!! 😂😂 as always tight lines brotha hope you had an amazing Christmas and the new year brings you happiness and good health !!!
I got the bone back when u could only get it during bait drops. Painted rainbow trout. The bass and pickeral here in Jersey destroy it. I even caught a smallmouth at the D&R on it
Heard clutch makes some awesome baits. If I wanted to spend that much for a glide I’d probably go with one of those. Id be curious to know how you like the new bucca trick shad ABS. I could be convinced to drop $40 but idk about $95 for a glide as of now. I have little confidence in them.
It's definitely an impressive swimbait and I wanna get more! Next sale! Lol I did get one of those too! But it's frozen outside now lol. I will likely do a similar format video end of winter!
@@takG6 It sucked I couldn't get polarized lens to clear the entire screen of glare.. But what I saw that yall couldn't see was epic. That bass was staring at it like a dog waiting for a treat. He was backing up slowly and the moment that glide dropped.. He slowly swam up and grabbed it!
Can I ask your wardrobe ? what are you wearing on your feet and outfit overall? Going to try freshwater winter kayaking for the first time (Long Island)
to be clear, it was a warm day that day hitting 58, but the morning was pretty cold at 34 when i left the house. I have a pretty thick base layer pants and my pants are lined with fleece material. Then i put on a rain pants to ensure slime and water doesn't splash onto my pants. upper body, i got base layer 1, base layer 2, hoodie. I had a rain jacket on too at the start, but it was too hot after getting the kayak rigged out, so i left it at the car. but for generally colder days that doesn't go that cold, I would put that on so that it cut water and wind. if I had money, I would invest in proper dry suit made for kayak fishing, especially if you go into larger lakes or saltwater fishing. I am blessed to be fishing in a small private lake where i can get to shore if anything happened. but when it's that cold.. PFD is always a must to be worn at all times! That being said, last thing I had on my layer was the PFD... o wait.. last is the gopro LOL
That’s an awesome swimbait!😁🎣
oh yeah dude! I'd say get some!

Thx! They do ice fishing up north where it's thicker! Drilling holes and waiting for fish to bite is not for me tho lol.. Too cold.. Brrr
Super! Good job with the treble hooks! No bleeding bass!

Great vid. I can tell you pickerel will smash the Eco too.
Thx. I can't Wait to see some of those!
Hell to the yeah man!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾💥
super fun lure and fishing trip!
You looked like Washington crossing the Delaware with that ice.😂
Lol, wish to fish there one day. But I'm far south NJ near salem

Oh snaps. I wanna catch a giant Smallie on a glide!
What kind of rod are you using
Ark Invoker glidebait rod

1.5 oz vs 2.4 oz glidebait. You could fish the Eco all day. Crazy you're still catching big bass in frozen water.
definitely makes it easier on the body lol. I will catch fish if it's partial open water lol
I might love to send you a resin swimbait if you'd like that?
Mmm, thx for the offer. But I will decline for now. Lake is frozen and I am gonna take a break for the winter
it's frustrate watching you untangle that hook 😂😅
U know how cold it and freezing fingers I got paddling out there?
