What a lovely place to be. I've not explored this part of the line so it's very interesting to me. The signal lamps used to run on paraffin and ran continuously lit for 8 days so they could have the wicks trimmed and be refilled every week. My local station at Abergele & Pensarn always refilled the lamps on a Sunday when there were less trains. There was also a small white lens in the back of the lamp that shone when the signal was at danger. At night when the signalman pulled the signal lever to the "off" position a blind on the back of the signal used to cover the light so the signalman knew that the signal arm was in the "off" position.
One of my lifelong dreams to live ina an old station like this, with platforms, a section of track etc........ but it will never happen - I'm in the 70s now
