Hello young man , There are two abandoned railway viaducts next to each other just north of Wigan , Boars Head Haigh Viaduct and The Douglas Valley Viaduct both closed in the early 1970s. It might be worth taking a look !
Aye i have seen the douglas valley one, i went on and crossed it for a route on my "wigan to roddlesworth" series. May do a larger track walk soon for wigan. Thanks for watching!
Wrong location for platt bridge station you indicated. It was actually on the next road bridge over Liverpool road . Platform and steps are still insitue.
Leigh could have a train station at the end of Atherleigh way the old Kenyon lane junction were the old line joined the Chat moss line,Golborne is a waste of money.
I drive under or through those bridges every day, that's a different view point of our landscape!
Fabulous! That ballast! What a shame Leigh lost its stations...now replaced by a rubbish guided busway. At least Golborne is being rebuilt.
Damn i never knew about the busway that looks weird
