By far the best guitar instructor on YT. Accurate, no fat, just the info you need in digestible bites with an emphasis on the details. Perfect. Thank you sir.
Another classic played and taught wonderfully. I am on state benefits and struggling with the £, but when i get some spare cash i promise i will donate. It's guys like you that have kept me going the last couple of years. I wanted to give up on life totally through illness but picking up a guitar again and learning great songs has put some sparkle back. Thank you so much.
NEVER GIVE UP!!! Praying healing prayers for you. If music be the food of love…. Play on. I am a domestic violence survivor, music has been my mainstay in my life and helped me to overcome and escape my situation. I hope you’re still playing until eternity comes.
when i first picked up the guitar, 2 years ago, this was the first song i tried to play. I failed hard... 2 years later, i can play it, mostly thanks to you, the intricate parts, everything...just sounds soooo right...:D
It’s not just your expertise with playing the guitar, it’s also the way you convey what you are teaching. You have a very soothing and patient sounding voice which makes the student (even if just on TH-cam) receptive to what and how you explain everything. Maybe you’re a teacher (not just guitar) in real life......if not, you should be!
Such great instruction. The way I can see things so clearly with the black background and you take care to show your every finger movement. Thanks again as always,
Fantastic tutorial! My level is +/-0 and it takes 3 days to learn it (but syrely it will take three more to lick it up)). You are the best teacher, as many people wrote here. Key things are "every note matters", "no rush". And fantastic done is you intervals are proper even in very slow tempo. Your teacing level is God! Thank you!
This is unbelievable! I bought my guitar 3 months ago and thanks to your in-matched tutorial can play my all time favorite! Beautiful sound you have, amazing technique. By far the best tutorial I have seen on TH-cam. Thank you!!!
I have been learning to play for the past 10 years from teachers online. Once you have the basics down pat you will not find tutorials than Shutup & Play! Thank you for all your hard work and keep them coming. Why the hell anyone would give this a thumbs down is beyond me.
Mate! I’ve spent the last two weeks on this (as a novice) and now have it down(ish). The simple way you break it down makes it so easy to follow. Awesome job. 👍🏻
Totally agree. I've watched about 5 other lessons on this song but now compare. Extremely thorough and everything very carefully explained. Awesome work. Will be following for sure.
I have watched a lot of video lessons on how to do this song and this one is by far the most accurate and detailed, in line with the original. I enjoy the ease And calm of the instructor’s teaching and he really explains things in such depth that much of the assumption and guesswork has been taken out of the lesson. I tried this two years ago and gave up since it was too advanced and I have only been playing for 1.5 years at that point (I was a 43 year old beginner). Now, two years later and with the help of this lesson, I now can play the first four minutes. Some parts very slowly, but it is progress. This is THE lesson to follow if you want to play it right and play it well. Thank you.
Thanks man ,I honestly think your the best tutorial on the tube, your playing ability is just class which makes it easier to follow and learn ,with lots of practice of course cheers
Amazing. I'm just getting back into acoustic after not playing for 10 yrs. Kids, divorce ect... took its toll. And trying to remember everything is a lot harder than I remember.
Another classic from you, Andy. As usual, beautifully played, explained, and such a pleasure to watch and listen to. I return to this one when I’m exhausted from getting through ‘Big Love’. Once again, thank you so much.
Best TH-cam instruction I've seen ...subscribed! (No, not because of this particular song, but because of the way its done. : ) Very clear to follow. Pausing and repeating...
One of my absolute favorite songs by a great band. You do a great job instructing. I stumbled on your channel by complete accident. I normally get my internet guitar instruction from other online personalities, but I must admit to liking your style. Extremely professional. I have subscribed. Thanks!
I have tried a couple places to learn this, and literally got it on the 1st try after going through it with you on this video. great teaching skills, very easy to follow. Am "patiently" waiting for the second lesson. your awesome, please keep it up and thank you.
Shutup & Play - guitar tutorials Thanks for the update, and the response! I'm currently laid up with a broken ankle/leg, so what better time to buckle down on some of these songs I've been wanting to learn. Your awesome, thanks again!
Almost one year gone, can play chords and scales but rarely studied notes playing, this would be my first song to learn to play lead on guitar. Wish me luck.
Thanks for this excellent tutorial - I am especially appreciative of the comments on which fingers to use when picking 👍 also you guitar sounds so so good. Dreamy
Brother I just inherited an old Yamaha electric guitar. Your tutorial is by far the most exact and on point I've ever seen on TH-cam. You got a sub for life in me. Also I will be going through all you other videos. This channel is a jewel I accidentally stumbled into. Peace brother.
You do such a great job. Thank you! Your attention to detail is remarkable. I have been playing for 40 years and I do have a classical guitar BA (1996). Nonetheless, suffice it to say, I watched several of your videos in a row and walked away learning many of my favorite songs. I am out of work at the moment, but you deserve a donation when I get round my man. Cheers. You are a very patient and excellent instructor.
I have watched this video so many times it is ridiculous, however I would like to thank you for your instruction. I'm progressing very slowly but getting there. Thanks again!
I remember when I was a couple weeks into my senior year I took a guitar class because I wanted to learn an instrument. At first I wanted piano but I'm glad I took guitar. So much better to handle as an instrument to play every day. Also cheaper lol.
Hello, I have followed all your tutorials and let me tell you that I have also compared with others ..... my conclusion is that you are the best instructor, excellent presicion in the songs. I congratulate you and thank you for all your contributions, please go ahead.
I make my tutorials available to everyone for free because I don't like excluding folks who may be facing some kind of financial hardship. Music should be available to all. Thing is, I put a huge amount of time and effort into making these videos. If you can afford it and you're getting something out of my lessons I ask that you make a financial contribution. www.shutupandplay.ca/donate.html Cheers
I have been playing this another way from a different lesson for years and always thought that it didn't sound quite right. You have confirmed what I thought and sent me down the correct path. Just got to retrain my brain and fingers to your lesson. Can't wait to get it sounding right. Cheers for the tutorial.
That is a very nice warm sounding guitar. That's the difference folks, nice acoustic sounds makes the song leap out and inspires you to play with soul and conviction. A great 6/8 time signature with accents on the 1 and 4. Great lesson buddy.
Thank you for this video which help rekindled the dead fire I had for guitar playing. I’ve just subscribed! Pls continue to keep up the great work., continue to inspire!
Literally got a guitar and dont know what string is what or what chord is what and all i do is watch thing and i almost got this down in a month or so. So thank you.
Rick Mason Good for you, man. Now, do yourself a favour and record your playing and listen back to it. Still think you "got it"? Learning guitar isn't a race and you're going to sound shitty for quite some time before you "get" this, or any other, tune. By the way, here are your string names from thickest to thinnest: EADGBE. Here are the "open" chords you want to learn: Eminor, E, A, Aminor, C, D, G and F. Here are the first two barree chords you want to learn: F and Bminor. Just Google them or get an app. Get a metronome and use it. Get a "CAGED" system PDF. Practice every day with your phone and computer turned off and within a couple of years you should "get" a shitload of songs.
Awesome tutorial, I learned this in just 6 hours splitted in two days. How you explain is just simple to understand. Also that you split the part in smaller parts. Thank you so much!
Taking me a long time to get past the first part not working on the a minor yet, seems a little easier for me to play on the electric, taking me forever to learn this
Thankyou so much. I love your teaching methods repeating what you just played several times has been a big help in following the steps to play the songs you teach. T-shirts & Hoodies are awesome also I'll be Sporting them with lots of pride.
Yea the pull offs are near impossible for me right now. I’ve got the basics down but that and the clean switches I can’t grasp yet. Hoping to get this down in the coming weeks. Wooo
1972-75 I played and lost interest due to no lessons and alone. Now at 66, I wish we had you and others and TH-cam. I would still be playing today
" Every note matters" and nothing else matters... Best guitar tutorial ever! Thank you for this!
