His Church of Christ rendition deserves a standing ovation but since musical instruments are forbidden, it must be that the clapping of hands and standing ovations would certainly send them all to ____.
It took me a second as a member of the church of Christ to get it..........LOL. We just take the bible at it's word that during worship (Not praise, that is for another time outside worship....see the Greek word 'latreia" for worship, and 'epainos' for praise). We still love music with instruments, but we walk away from the piano on Sundays.....Love you all and see you at home!
Dear TheDynCOCWithLittleBasisForItsNoInstrumentRuleOfMen.........Look in the OT and you will see many passages which denote the use of musical instruments used during worship. Yes, I know you COC say that "since there is no mention of instruments being used in the NT, that is the mandate that we (as followers of man-made rules to the max) must abide by". And to this point, I would say you are correct......there is no mention of such. But, let's see the logic of what you folks are really saying.........there ALSO is no mention of electricity, framed buildings, automobiles, pews, paper literature, modern-day currency, sound systems, plumbing, modern day heating facilities and a million other items that the COC DOES use in conjunction with its worship on Sunday. All of these items are not mentioned in the Bible because they DID NOT exist in that day. If you are going to be the "purist" you would have the world think you are.......you will quickly STOP using all of these modern-day conveniences as a part of your worship. But, I do not think I will "hold my breath" until you adopt a sane consistent policy that I just enumerated to you.......because I think you are 1) not logical in your thinking and 2) not spiritually honest in your approach to the practice of Christianity in the 21st century. And, one more thing......lest you think I am a fundamental Baptist or some other similar type church adherent who tend to hate everyone besides themselves, I am none of these things........I am a member of NO church. I am just a simple Christian with no apologies to make.
Amber Seaman: The punch line is Where ever there are 3 or 4 gathered in Accord, there is usually a fifth. Meaning "Jack Daniels"! Also meaning they would otherwise not be in accord. Catholics usually are freer with Strong spirits than any of the protestant denominations. Most of them are teetotalers.
Hilarious! I loved the country church. Almost fell out of my chair laughing. But if given a choice, I'll take the black church every time. P.S. I think the folks from the Church of Christ are going to get to heaven and realize that they missed out on a whole lot of great music. That's okay, though, because we'll all have eternity to enjoy praising our Lord! Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
good an excellen pianist but we should never forget that we are playing to God not to people so too much arregements colud be increase our proud blessings
MICHEL APARICIO. It is not an expression of pride in this case, but rather an exhibition of musical genius. Why shouldn't Christians have "happy" musical times? They should have it most. As for pride, and I say this as a trained musician: I have seen more pride exhibited by those with very little talent but who were determined to find an outlet to "perform" because of misguided and unfounded dreams of being something or someone they were not.
He amazes me with his humor and talent!

Kind of bothers me that he would make fun of 2 or 3 gathered that we can't play
I don't understand the catholic "fifth" joke. Can someone explain it?
A fifth of whiskey
Fifth of whiskey

When 3-4 catholics are gathered in one accord ( honda accord ), there's a fifth ( liquor )
I was thinking more of a fifth chord since we were talking piano
he ain't right in the head
He'd agree!!! lol
