I'll bet that when Anthony began playing "The Little Drummer Boy", after Jim Hamill SPECIFICALLY told him not to, that Jim felt like going over to Anthony, and slappin' him on the head for that! These guys knew what it was like to get up on stage, and have a lot of fun like this. Then again, it's only natural. One of The Kingsmen's nicknames was the Ton of Fun!!! There were a few people that got offended, from time to time. One Lady went up to Jim Hamill after one of their concerts, and told Jim Hamill in so many words, that she was Religious, and that what they'd done by having fun upset her. Jim told her:"If it upset her, then she didn't have Religion, she had Indigestion"!!! God's people have a right to shout, sing, dance before him, and rejoice! We've also got the right to have fun, as long as we're clean about it!!!
Jim Hamill told him to leave that Drummer Boy Song out, so what does Anthony Burger do? He puts it in. TWICE!!! I bet ol'Jim Hamill wanted to about wring Anthony's neck for that little stunt!😆🤣😆🤣😆!!! Anthony Burger and Jim Hamill had such a fun chemistry between them. You never knew what these two were gonna cook up next! Ya had to love 'em, though. These two were two of the biggest nuts that The Kingsmen Quartet ever had! 😁😁😁!!!
I got to meet Anthony back in 1992. The quartet I played with opened up for the Kingsmen in Bakersfield CA. I got to play in front of Anthony and he told me I was one of the best pianists he had ever heard. He was such a humble man of God. We got to play a little bit together after the show too. I was 19 then. I was so sad to hear that he passed away in 06. I was working at the Home Depot then when one of the folks from my church told me about it. Came in and said, "Scott, Anthony died yesterday on the cruise." I am proud to have been able to call such an amazing human being my friend.
Some of the VHS Recordings had that kind of noise interference, especially the recordings done on Scotch Tape type of VHS Tapes, for some unknown reason. Other than that, it's a great recording! Anthony Burger could be such a comical imp at times. He gave Him Hamill (Which must've been his favorite person to pick on), fits!!! 😁😁😁

No sadly Anthony passed away several years ago
He died of a heart attack while playing piano for a Gaithers Cruise, Feb. 22, 2006. Sad..... only 44 years old.
