Haven't seen a single ad or mention of IndyCar since last season. Didn't even know the opener was today until this video popped up on my TH-cam feed. Guess I'll have to keep a closer eye on the website. Congrats to Newgarden on the win.
Indy Car racing isn't very well marketed. I guess the people who operate the series are content with their niche audience. As with NASCAR, the Indy Car series lacks star power.
Maybe it's a cultural thing (I'm European) but I never understood "the number 60" either. Like, what does that even mean? Just say the name of the driver.
Outstanding first lap. That was about thirty accidents that never happened. Amazing skill and decision making by the drivers. 2024's going to be a great year.
I don't know if that's how the flag waver is supposed to wave the checkered flag, but the flare he put into that was impressive. Outdoes any other series.
So glad to have indycar back,very good race. Newgarden continues to be a legend in the series. Cant wait to see this in person at Indianapolis(and maybe,just maybe Nashville)🔥
Much better than the F1 race and a larger field too, 27 cars are more exciting than 20 cars any day. Not a boring minute at all, races all through the field, the way it should be.

It's so confusing that a number is stick to a car and not to a driver, makes it very hard to spot the guys after so many changes over the winter. Great highlights, finally motorsport is in full swing again!

The real open wheel season is now upon us! Indy > F1 any day. I don't want to watch a billionaires parade and soap opera about over paid drivers and how they always like to shout "so dangerous" on the radio. I want to watch drivers fighting for positions and actually passing each other. Not just dive bombing after DRS zones and calling that racing. Looking forward to a interesting series. Should get real spicy once the motor change takes place after the 500. I really wish there were more races though to close some of the gaps in the schedule. That's my only complaint. But love the series!
Haha! That ‘so dangerous’ reference I read in Hamilton’s voice. Probably because I can’t stand him. Spot on with the DRS dive bomb thing too. The problem is the F1 cars are huge these days as well. I’m a longtime F1 fan but losing interest because it’s becoming so Hollywood and woke. I’d like to see Indycar on some better circuits though, some of these road circuits are a bit rough looking.
And then, more than a month later - it becomes clear that the winners cheated. I also loved that official Penske statement, magnanimously accepting the disqualification - as it they had a choice, now that they were caught red-handed so to speak.
i put this in a few comments already...being a fan of both Indycar and F1. i'd say they are both on par with eachother after this race, P2P was useless as the whole grid was fuel saving for a 2 stop race, the primes and atls had no difference between them, and newgarden led for 90+ laps, was a boring 100laps, just hope the next race gets back to what makes this series good, because this races wasn't it

No wonder Colton was especially P.O.'ed and vocal about it, he got done by McLaughlin on restart, and you can see Newgarden pull a gap easily on the last restart, ridiculous. My question: with all of their tech, how didn't Andretti, McLaren and Gnassi realize what was going on? 50 HP over all the cars around you is not hard to see in telemetry I'm positive. And it would've been easily seen on the incar, unless Penske put in a dummy button and turned off the PTP lights, etc. etc. Maybe they did know, but decided to sandbag Roger and team Penske and especially Josef right before May...? Just a thought...

I am absolutely convinced that instead of being a driver that gets paid to race, Roman Grosjean is a driver that pays the team to have his race seat. Otherwise, it makes zero sense why Grosjean still has a race seat. There are UNDOUBTEDLY so many more deserving drivers. The guy was terrible in F1, he is terrible in INDY, and I am sick of seeing him race. The dude has got to go.

The NBC Audio engineers on this broadcast should be fired. They had the background channel, on track audio, turned up so loud that you could barely hear the broadcasters.
It's apparently an issue with your TV sound settings. Others have mentioned the same effect last season. I have never noticed this issue, either watching on NBC or Peacock.

Most of the case F1 driver goes Indy not going well (no championship) except Mansell and JP Montoya.
