For me, Re: Zero is incredible but also so good at how grotesque it can go that i was actually reluctant to rewatch. Subaru's cringey moments, so many return by death (and how that affects him mentally), and the turns he has to do to get through a successful route is tough to rewatch (for me). But... Subaru's character growth can't happen without the cringe. Remember he's a NEET, boasting about defending his home. He had stopped going to school as well. He's stunted and then... he grows. He's still growing and still suffering (with RBD), but I'm looking forward to where he and others in the story goes.
On Otto attacking Subaru. Technically Subaru attacked him first after Otto forgot about Rem. Subaru then confessed that the whale was probably after him. So I dont blame him haha
Also one of the reasons for that scene is probably Otto's Divine Protection of communicating with animals. I think that it is implied that he went crazy because of the White Whale speaking to Otto or something like that, which is why he pushed Subaru off the carriage.
No envy is sealed but she is able to escape for a bit..she loses a lot of her power. When Subaru told Echidna about RBD envy was trying to break into the sanctuary. The sanctuary and the tomb have a barrier that was trying to keep envy out but she was eventually able to force her way in
you can easily find an edited version of re:zero without death for both season 1 and season 2, in fact that's how I first watched the show! I think the search term was "re:zero true timeline edit" or something like that
Vanity and melancoly were deadly sins that were merged to pride and sloth to make up the 7 later. so yes Hector was a male witch the old wn fan traslation was warlock wich is closer than the Devil they used in the anime translation.
Here are some of the mysteries/foreshadowing that are easy to miss in seasons 1 and 2 (not spoilers): - In the loop where Subaru encountered the White Whale for the first time Otto pushed him off the carriage and in season 2 it is revealed that he has a Divine Protection that allows him to communicate with animals. So, one of the reasons why he pushed Subaru can be because he went crazy from hearing White Whale. - In the same loop White Whale was determined in following Subaru because of his Witch's miasma but after he was thrown off the carriage some moments later the Whale disappears completely. We still have no idea why the Whale stopped chasing Subaru and how it disappeared so quickly. - In the battle against White Whale Wilhelm says something along the lines "I can't believe this beast killed my wife". And it really is strange. Theresia van Astrea was the previous Sword Saint and she somehow supposedly lost against the White Whale. Not only that, if she was killed by the White Whale then why was she not erased from existence like many others victims of the Whale? - In episode 18, season 1, just before Puck freezes Subaru for the 3rd time in the season he notices the white mist. Then he says that Subaru led White Whale to the Roswaal's mansion. What's interesting is that Puck refers to White Whale as Gluttony. Nice foreshadowing. - The reason why the letter to Emilia in the end of Arc 3 was blank is because it was written by Rem and by the time it arrived she was already erased by the Sin Archbishop if Gluttony. - In the scene where Gluttony and Greed attack Crush and Rem, Lye refers to the White Whale as "our pet". Also, Pandora came to the Elior Forest not only with Greed, but with the Serpent (the 3rd Great Mabeast) too. This can imply that the Witch Cult has some sort of control over the 3 Great Mabeasts (Whale, Rabbit and Serpent). - In the end of Arc 2 Roswaal asks Ram about the girl who carried the dog in the village (Meili). This implies that he wasn't the one behind that attack (he only orchestrated the events of Arc 3 and 4, possibly Arc 1 too). So, we still don't know who ordered Meili to attack the village. - In the loop of episode 11 season 2 Subaru wrote the letter to Emilia explaining that he was going to the mansion. Later crazy Emilia says that she has not seen that letter. Subaru asks Roswaal if he was the one to destroy the letter, to which Roswaal shows confusion. This implies that it was either Garfiel or one of Ryuzu's clones that destroyed the letter, because they were against the liberation of Sanctuary. - In one of the last episodes of season 2 Emilia talks to Ryuzu's clones near the crystal with the original Ryuzu Meyer. What is VERY interesting is that we are shown some of Ryuzu's inner monologue. And her inner voice is the same one as Echidna's. - Finally, in Frozen Bond OVA, the very first scene is Echidna's VA speaking the terms of some contract. It is implied that these are the terms by which Puck operates when protecting Emilia. Also, Beako calls Puck her brother, which implies that he was probably created by Echidna like Beatrice was. What's strange is that if Emilia dies then Puck must destroy the whole world because of the terms of his contract. The question is: it this one of the terms of his contract with Emilia (which is OOC for Emilia to be okay with the destruction of the world), or is that one of the terms of his contract with Echidna or someone else? Why would that person want the whole world to be destroyed? Do they know about Subaru's RbD and want Puck to trigger it in case Emilia dies? Anyways, that's some food for your thoughts.

There is a lot of real world history regarding the deadly sins that is worth reading up on to understand the presence of Vanity and Melancholy. The deadly sins have changed over the years. I think you really miss the point of the Rem and Beatrice scenes. Subaru chose his words very intentionally for both. “I love Emilia” we’re the words he felt that best exemplified the return of the Subaru that Rem loves who never gives up on his goals while at the same time respecting how Rem poured her heart out by getting directly to the point at how he feels without any flowery words. Likewise, with Beatrice it was necessary for her to make her own choice, to understand that Subaru was not that person, that he would never be that person, and to be able to choose him despite that and make her own decision and forget about the idea of that person who doesn’t even exist.

We surely have Paul's complexity levels of characters... Most of this characters I mentioned have novels dedicated to them. For an example, Crusch / Felix have an entire novel dedicated to how they came to be and jesus, its friggin amazing. It isn't really a redemption story though. To be able to redeem yourself, would mean to be responsible for immoral actions, Subaru failed alot, but he was never at any point a bad guy for failing. Judging him too harshly is exactly what Subaru does to himself on a daily basis and that isn't how a person should live, being awkward and cringey isn't a sin and having a misunderstanding and letting anxiety control you isn't worthy of dying. Subaru is literally told by Satella that he is worthy of living with the people he cares about and deserving of love. People need to be more loving to people and accepting of differences.
one of these points is a bit too explicit, as its not fully revealed for awhile yes, Its true that attentive readers/ watchers could figure it out but it still counts as a spoiler
Just you wait guys to see the What if stories, yes what ifs like in Marvel, they are really good. There are seven of them, each one has a sin. Some of does what ifs are Subaru leaving with Rem and they form a family.
Rem and Subaru's relationship is toxic and codependent to a certain extent if we think about Rem's obsessive behavior with Subaru and Subaru leaning too much on Rem
Exactly! spoiler I can’t wait for the “You are not a hero” scene to be animated, it will really show how unhealthy Subaru’s relationship with Rem was. The fact that he probably would’ve returned by death if Al didn’t stop him says alot.

Re:Zero is perfection the anime I suppose. Subaru is human in every way, Emilia’s development is worthy of studying, Rem is my girl (Rem we will save you from that monster hold it together my love), Ram is that girl that we need in difficult situations, Otto is the brother that we don’t deserve, Garfield is THE bro, Rainhard it’s my boy, Betty needs to be protected at all cost, Echidan I loved you I consider you my friend but you betrayed me you monster (I still love you), Crush you can win the elections if you want I don’t have complains, Felix heal me anytime you want, Willhem be my grandma please, Do I need to continue with the characters?

Who is Byakko?
Beatrice/Beako/Betty
Just you wait guys to see the What if stories, yes what ifs like in Marvel, they are really good. There are seven of them, each one has a sin. Some of does what ifs are Subaru leaving with Rem and they form a family.
Rem and Subaru's relationship is toxic and codependent to a certain extent if we think about Rem's obsessive behavior with Subaru and Subaru leaning too much on Rem
Exactly!
spoiler
I can’t wait for the “You are not a hero” scene to be animated, it will really show how unhealthy Subaru’s relationship with Rem was. The fact that he probably would’ve returned by death if Al didn’t stop him says alot.
@@ATLASSbe3 I don’t feel like that’s a fair reading of the situation. He became a better person and someone she could be proud of, and was very shaken to see her be disappointed in him, even if she is amnesiac. It’s not that his desire to be the hero Rem wanted him to be was toxic, it’s that his efforts being denied in such a way shattered his self-image and was traumatic to him. It wasn’t toxic for him to grieve Rem or to aspire to be the kind of man she believed he was.
1:20:32 There is a proper official way to say it Andrew, it’s on the audio version of the novel by Seven Seas. That’s how I’m consuming the novels.
It’s pronounced “Ah-toe-fay”.
What book is Dragon tail?
What I think about the witches is that they are people who wanted to play god and bring their gifts to humankind, sadly there were flaws so people started to fear them. It’s the classic trying to do the right things but not very well executed. Come on guys it’s not very welcoming to see seven women with godly powers inflicting their own beliefs like they are goddesses which they are not so they don’t have the right to do that but they did what they could so it’s ok I guess (my favorite is Minerva by the way)
And how you pronounce Echidna but all good 😅
Re:Zero is perfection the anime I suppose.
Read the first line. Instantly liked for the “I suppose”
@@Outerdebt3-on6fv keep reading it’s worth it.
I suppose
Rem #1
Wow shaming chrisy for not aitting and watching 1 hour 30 minutes. But watching it English dub to rewatch. Dont know which is worst 😂
Emilia is 14 years mentally in season 2 and 18 years old physically but 114 years old in reality because she aged slower in the ice.
114 is just Subaru’s theory on her age she can be much older than that, we still don’t have a direct confirmation. Most people think she’s 400 since Minerva knew Emilia’s mom who is a human (episode 2x23)
Yea it’s hilarious how you mispronounce at least one name from every anime, and even when told the right way you stick with your original way hahaha. It probably does annoy some people a lot haha.
I never really got into this series. i don't know i'm weird.
my hate in it is the story focused on Subaru, other characters doesnt show any character development but i still watch it and see how things change later
@@macmac6064uhh Emilia got a whole movie and like 12 episodes of constant development, backstories and lore. Wdym no development
@@ATLASSbe3 and? she still the same girl since season1
@@macmac6064 Bro got affected by the archbishop of media literacy.
Denying that she hasn’t changed since season 1 is just straight ignorance. She literally always needed to rely on people, to the point she went crazy when she didn’t have puck or Subaru to rely on, and now in season 3, she’s the one asking Subaru to rely on her. She became more independent and confident, since when Subaru commented on her features, she disliked it since she was insecure, but now she’s confident in how she looks (season 3, episode 2 in the fight with wrath).
Watch the conversation between Subaru and Emilia in season 3 episode 2 again, season 1 Emilia would NEVER act like that. She literally stayed behind in the carriage in 1x25 even though the kids told her Subaru was out there with all the cultists
@@macmac6064No she isn’t 💀 actual smooth brained comment
12:57 That’s where I checked out of the series, I just couldn’t watch anymore, that was so cringe that I simply couldn’t watch. I just can’t deal with extremely cringe male characters like that.
I always see you under re zero videos even though you hate it so much. Are you a masochist?
@@ATLASSbe3 I watch all Andrews videos, it’s more likely that you only watch his Re:Zero videos & that’s why I stand out to you.
@@InfamyOrDeath-__-Nah i saw you under chibi’s video too and another anituber too
@@ATLASSbe3 Check all the rest of the videos on those channels & you’ll see I comment on all the videos, I’m not seeking out Re:Zero videos. I couldn’t care less about the series, it’s unwatchable because of Subaru.
@@InfamyOrDeath-__-U right, fk Subaru, I've watched a lot of anime and he is about the worst there is. Dropped bc of him early s1
Good for the people that like it, but for me I couldn't get past S01E12 or so, the cringe hit the roof and I just quit. Mushoku tho, Muchoku is the GOAT xd
it really depends of age most younger audience prefer rezero
Because it doesnt and it sucks ass
Nooooooooooooooo a whole video about Re:Zero, the anime with the most cringe MC in the history of anime.
????
Idk what you talking about but Subaru is a great character and the anime is fantastic as well
This has to be a troll or sth
@@Sonic-sb7umReally? You don’t know what I’m talking about? Even Andrew talks about it here for ages with how so many people hate his character. He even calls himself a “Subaru apologist”.
