Those Pecketts really are a favourite of mine. I'm pleased with The Earl, Henry, the NCB green and Westminster. They are really worth the money with the detail and running qualities. If you're like me, you'll end up buying more than one.
Hello 👋🏻 Yeah it really is nice to look at and a great runner 😊 It really makes me want to buy another one in a different livery 😁 Thanks for watching the video 👍🏻
I have a green B2 Peckett named Westminster. On her first proper run on my railway, she broke one of her coupling rods at the back end of the chassis. I took her back to Chester Model Shop for repairs, where I gave her up for lost. I visited the shop sometime afterwards, and caught sight of Westminster in one of the cabinets fully repaired, minus her missing coal load and couplings. She returned to my railway, and the other steamies are glad she came back. So she got into a sad story with a happy ending.
I bought my green NCB Peckett and 'Bear' on two separate visits to Chester model shop, and found them friendly and helpful. I was even tempted to buy the Crimson King set from them and all are still running well.
They didn't. Yet, I did see she'd been repaired for myself. I bought her back for the knockdown price of £50. I should know a good bargain when I see one.
Good review of a great little loco. Your reviews are just right as they tell viewers exactly what they need to know without 20 minutes of waffle thrown in. To me the main range Hornby and Bachmann small tank engines and shunters offer a lot better value for money than the now ridiculously overpriced Railroad offerings. £80 RRP for a Railroad Jinty when you could pick them up for ~£30 a few years back? Thanks Hornby but I will pass on that one.
Hello Paul 👋🏻 Thanks for the great feedback 😊 I'm trying to include as much information as I can to provide the best value in a review. If there's anything you think I should add that would help please let me know 😊 Prices seem to be a bit crazy compared to a few years ago. Will be interesting to if they come down as people start to divert their spare cash to pay for the increased cost of living. I think I'll end up buying another B2 as I really like this one 😁 Thanks for your support and watching the video 👍🏻
@@mattseymour8637 If you go to Google and search "preserved Peckett locomotives" and select the Wikipedia result you can get a list of which Pecketts have been preserved to help you. I run it on mine which is sort of a heritage railway. However, it's your railway so you can run what you like as I do 😊
@@LocoLeighton Yes I will have a look and didn't think of that. As you say I guess I could run non preserved locos on it and I do have some that aren't preserved numbers as often they change the number of a loco temporarily in preservation.
Really nice little loco I definitely want to get one of these so thanks for showing 🙂👍🏻
Hello Mark 👋🏻 Hope you and the family are well 😊 It really is nice and worth the money I think 😃 Thanks for watching the video 👍🏻

Hello Alan 👋🏻 You're right, they really are nice locomotives 😊 Think I will end up getting another one 😁 Thanks for watching the video 👍🏻
What a beautiful locomotive, looked to be smooth as silk out of the box. Nice livery, would suit layouts of all sizes.
Great vid👍

Sounds lucky that you spotted her Kelly. Did the shop not call you once repairs were complete? Thanks for watching the video 👍🏻

Is this loco preserved in real life?
Hello Matt 👋🏻 I believe the real one was scrapped but I'm not sure when 🤔 Thanks for watching 👍🏻
@@LocoLeighton Arh ok I thought someone said it was preserved.
So it definitely isn't preserved?
Would it be ok to use it on a preserved layout?
