This is one of my favorite Steam Locomotives. The unique design and livery as well as the story behind it made it so fascinating to me and what I’m seeing of this, this seems like the best version of it. It will definitely be one of the more expensive models I’ll buy, but I think it’ll be worth it.
I have two Hornby Hush-Hush locomotives, one in as built condition and the other is the first rebuild cowl version. Both had an issue with the spring of the pony truck lifting the driving wheels off the track just a bit. After I removed the spring from both locos, the issues it had slipping while hauling coaches went away. Not sure if that issue was addressed with your new steam generator version but thanks for showing it off! I got myself a steam generating P2 Class Earl Marischal to run on my tracks. It looks spectacular with the water vapor, as does yours!
Hello 👋🏻 This might look worst than it is because the track it is being displayed on at that point in the video is 1st radius 🤔 Thanks for the feedback and for watching the video 👍🏻
I agree. Seeing rear wheels "floating in mid air" around curves looks ridiculous! And, of course, the rear wheels aren't even turning. I still think a pivoting rear truck with flanged wheels would look better. ALL of the wheels on a locomotive should be touching the track, and TURNING...
Hello 👋🏻 This is the Metcalfe Models PO236 Footbridge Kit which I believe at the time I got from Rails of Sheffield 😊 Hope this helps and thanks for watching 👍🏻
I have to say whilst I would like this loco to join my other Hornby Steam Generator models it is disappointing to find out that it doesn’t have a flickering firebox or external working lamps. Also does it really not even come equipped with crew? Great review though - thanks for doing it
Sorry, but why do you need to put music in the background in this video? It distracts from what you have to say and listening to the sounds of the loco!

at 15:30 it is such a disappointment from Hornby to see the rear pony wheel floating over air :(
