You can still put the elite torso back on a crotch piece without having to separate the lower torso pieces right? If so, that makes me worry so much less about torso cracking
A safer route I go is to drill a small hole with a manual small drill, then use a cylinder pry tool (like small ice pick tool without sharp edge) to crack it open. Safest way for me. But always, nice customs and content!
I see you almost open your hand up pretty good lol easier to pop them from the side towards the waist imo with a razor knife. At least that’s what I find easiest and safest haha

Why is it whenI try this EXACT same steps, I either crack the lower part of the body or the torso just wont come off from the waist / legs unless I break it? I dont get it, Im doing the same thing you are but getting very different results.
Do you just put the legs you want on after. You see I’ve been trying to make a custom Shawn and broke to ultimate’s already. Now I got to get another and try again. The glue is too strong I couldn’t get the torso off at all. By the time I found your bid it was too late. So do you just slip the legs under the torso and will it fit right?

So for the most part yes the ultimate edition torso are compatible (with most legs) and some legs may have a smaller peg where it can’t fit like some Kane legs Brock , some undertakers . Soo i sand down the bottom of the torso till it fits

Great tutorial. I just tried to do it and messed my guy up though. I'm sad about it i got stress marks on the back and couldn't get my new legs to pop in. I tried to follow your tutorial but i messed it all up.

Bub, I have a big scar on a finger from opening figures exactly like how you're doing it here, please make sure your fingers aren't in the way when the blade slips, like at 4:50. Eventually you will hurt yourself, get in the habit of not doing that.
The lower torso should be open enough to go back into place. If you are patient with this method, no damage will occur to the pegs and everything should be tight. If not a tiny amount of super glue should reseal the torso.
This method is so much better than doing under the armpit like others have done! Thank you!!!!
This is why Mattel needs to implement swappable legs. AEW toys lets you swap legs easily
