Welcome to the Kirsty and Adam Show, today we are doing a Battle Of The Brands!
I'm testing the 12 topcoats I have to see which one is the best, I ended up picking my 4 favourites to go on the leaderboard but that's a good range I think. Do you agree? Is there anything we missed? What should we test next? Let us know in the comments.
When picking a top coat you wanna look for clarity mainly, you need that design to shine through, and shine if it's not a matte top coat. A thinner top coat will apply easier but it will highlight all of the dips in the nail but a thicker top coat is more prone to peeling. Test out a few but this shows my favourite out of the ones I have. Great packaging is also a must, it's gotta look pretty on the desk!

Very disappointed about some of the comments on this video.
1. We have not been paid by anyone to use products.
2. We don't have every top coat in the world
3. This isn't a wearability test.
4. This isn't a price comparison.
This was a test to see which of the bottles I have are the clearest and shiniest topcoat.
Maybe the title of the video was wrong so we’ll change that. But please don't question our integrity or honesty! We've got one more comparison video filmed already and it's already looking debatable whether we’ll do another, despite people having asked us to do these for ages!
Outright rude and or nasty comments will be deleted from this channel. We encourage debate but nastiness doesn't belong here!
Do worry about people nitpicking on your videos babe! You can’t test everything in one video and not everything can be done at once! People should be more understanding 💜
I think it was a great video. Ive bought some products from enailcouture and I really like them but I'm not a professional yet. So hearing your review on the shine and clarity is awesome. I loved the video. Especially since I love enailcouture’s products. I have 3 of the Wonder gels, and about 6 SHINee top coats right now, can’t ever let those run out.
Maybe it's a veird thing to bring up now, but I am really happy to hear you react to your comments sweetheart 💕 I have watched every video that you have made since you started at Naio Nails, several time😅 But when you worked with Naio Nails, I heard you personally said that you didn't read your comments. Please don’t let the few bad apples stop your reviews, the rest of us find them very helpful 😘 One I’d love to see would be a comparison of no-wipe topcoats, as to their ability to “absorb” powders. I’ve come across some that powders were see through or plain wouldn’t stick - and others that are so good I didn’t need to top coat them, lol.
Im in Canada & I have been purchasing from Enailcoture for years. Always received my orders quick. The longest it ever took was 10 days and that's nothing.
Only ever had one issue and it was corrected immediately.
Love all the products.
Spreading "rumors" or "word on the street" is childish & mean, especially if it's unproven. You don't have to like him but don't spread hate.

@@lseej hmmmm 🤔 which “rumours” are you referring to? Because the things I’ve seen haven’t been rumours lol. They’ve been facts 😂🤦🏼♀️ For example, it’s a fact that DippedInPretty tried the 123 system, and posted a video update with how the nails were bending. He went on IG Live (so it’s not a rumour - it’s him 😂🤷♀️) and said a lot of really unprofessional - and uncalled for - things 🙄 he called her ratchet, said she was wrong - they didn’t bend, and she must have done them wrong. And according to him, she was “a nobody” because her video got under 1000 views.
Refusing to accept constructive criticism is one thing, but actively going online - to his significant number of followers - and being nasty to a paying customer who just didn’t like his product, is gross. It’s unprofessional, and it also opened the floodgates for his diehard supporters to give that person hate… all for giving their opinion 🙄🤦🏼♀️
It’s quite interesting to me that you’re saying “you’re entitled not to like him, but don’t spread hate”… but that’s exactly what he did 🤔👌🏻 It’s of course up to you - and anyone for that matter - to continue buying his products, but criticising someone for their unprofessional and nasty behaviour (that isn’t a rumour - it’s him on video. from his account 😂🤷♀️) isn’t spreading hate or being miserable 🤔
I’m a big supporter of Kirsty and her channel, so it didn’t bother me personally that she used Enailcouture - in fact, she probably didn’t even know anything about Max 😂🤷♀️ But people are allowed to tell her why they don’t support him, and it’s up to her what she wants to do 🤓💖

Yes! More battle of the brands would be amazing! I'm somewhat new to the nail world and there's no nail version of Sephora/Ulta (that I know of) so stuff like this will help tremendously with discovering new brands. If you don't mind trying out more brands from outside the U.K., I would love to see what your opinion is on Kiara Sky's products. There's a lot of great nail techs on TH-cam, but I honestly value your opinion the most out of everyone.

Really enjoyed this video was really interesting to look at and see the differences between top coats etc, I’ve just ordered some more products from you and I can not wait for them to come, they really are amazing and the way that I will be able to have something put together for what I like to use and be able to change when I need a fresh one I just can’t wait as will save so much waste too, the metal file middle part and then the papers etc to stick on it and I’m so excited 😃😃😃

Love these from an independent and qualified point of view. Can you test nail foil glue please? So many people have issues with getting full coverage nail foil.

I'm not surprised since I always grab at my Wonder Gel especially since it resists paints and pigments when I'm doing crafts. This is awesome that you've done this so we don't have to buy a crap-ton of things to test ourselves.

I love that idea!! I'd love to see the results of different products that are used for the same thing and find the best product for top coats, (one for hard gel, one for acrylics), which product produces the most opaque color, the best translucent color, the best nail art gel for texture or softness, and the best acrylics without the marbling issue. Test it for us!!!!! I'm tired of buying nail products that aren't up to snuff! I love this idea!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😘😍👌

I see it as a bit of fun and it is only an opinion. We all like different products and have different options. I think Max’s top coat would be a bit of a pain if your a mobile tech because they are too tall to keep upright. ❤️ Keep up the great work Kirsty and Adam xxx

The young nails stain resistant top coat has a sticky layer but it is so durable and very shiny. Not even hair dye stains it. It is a thicker formula though. I love it

Love it, if you don't point it out for a someone that knows little about the flexibility of top coats and why they are like that I would never learned it. I am no professional only an aficionado of it.
I use both shineE and wondergel Enailcouture the shinE is the general use and wondergel has a bit of rubber in it for final top coat. The shine from Wondergel lasts for 3 weeks and is a no stain. It’s great IMO.

I used wonder gel and it dulled out super fast, like a week. I would like you to try light elegance "super shiny". The LE one is my go to!!!
Definitely do a comparison of Super Shiny from Light Elegance along with maybe a few of their color and glitter gel pots, VS other brands she's got. LE hard gels are beyond compare to any other brand. I'd like to see what Kirsty thinks of it compared to other hard gels. They have a try me kit that has enough products to do a full set. All Kirsty would need are the color gels and glitter gels.
Shiny from enail is THE best no wipe top coat .. it stays shiny SHINY the whole time!!
The bit about the bottles not being labelled .. they are the only bottle in the line that look like that .. lol can’t mistake it. And they sell refills for atleast shiny .. so you don’t need to get that big bottle each time
I'd like to see a comparison between a few products from Madam Glam and iGel Beauty - top coats, base coats, builder in a bottle. I don't know why anyone would say you were paid for your review. That's just someone who didn't agree with your professional opinion and had an issue with whatever company. I've heard rumors about a company (I'll keep that to myself), but have no proof if they are true (again, keeping it to myself). I may not have agreed with your opinion, but you are seeing these up close and personal and you have an eye for details - and I respect that. Thank you Adam and Kirsty!! I appreciate your videos.

Matte top coat next!!! 🙏🏼 I love the nailchemy brand except that there is no distributor in USA lol so shipping costs and arm and a leg, first born, a soul and so on. Black doesn’t cure 100% like other gels I have. Maybe formula has improved or it’s just me. Who knows. I’ve had the onyx gel polish for 2 years now. Haven’t used it up. Surprisingly lol. Their velvet matte and matte top coat are an A+++++++. Their top gloss is good too.
My all time favourite topcoat is Glitterbels there topcoat lasts between appointments even on the client TNT’s always hands on.
Also where did you get your tip holders from please? I love that they have a crystal on them

I still like naio nails as of yet I am waiting well about to purchase kirsty new top coat so excited for that, as I do usually fall back to naio ni wipe top coat . That my opinion. I seen someone comment about modelones I find they loose the shine the next day or even couple hours later. I find your vids great kirsty really good information I've learned alot from you thank you. 😁❤

Thanks Kirsty this was very enlightening. I find it fascinating that ENC won, the impracticality of the bottle tops (although pretty) and the website have completely put me off from even trying there products. Just goes to show you, you can’t judge a book by it cover 😄
I ordered from them once and it was that it took them so long to send my order that put me off.
@@angierichter2240 they don’t give a very professional impression and from what I have seen from a lot of places is that their customer service needs a lot of work. Which is sad because it looks like their products might have a lot to offer.
The bottle tops are nice if you wear long extensions yourself :) more room to grab
I would love your opinion on more Gel systems. I know you love acrylic, but you happen to be awesome at both. Now that you have the freedom to test all brands, would love your opinion on Kokoist (I love this system), Nail Elegance, and Young Nails. But... The Kirsty Meakin gel system would be the best off-course. Just putting it out on the universe for you. :)
She already has started production on her own line of products hun so hopefully it won’t be much longer now. 🥳
If you look at her background on the shelf there are pink bottles. They are from her own line and let me tell you the packaging it flipping stunning. She gave us a sneak peak when I was on a course with her.
Years ago she also use to have her own gel line called colour lock. (Not gel polish I don’t this just actual gel, but could be wrong)
But yeah. Ever since then (which was many moons ago) I’ve been dying for her to come out an kill it with her own line of acrylic an gel as. Well we just know her line is gonna be top dog. An put everyone else to shame lol.
Her gel polish bottles are stunning. You can see the shade of pink from the background but they also have her skull/rose logo on them as well. An ever since she showed us them I’ve been Drooling at the mouth just waiting for her to drop her line as I need them in my life. Stat!!! Haha

I'm sad I didn't see modelones or beetles in there, especially since their both pretty popular brands. Oh well, I guess we cannot expect you to have every brand available. Thanks for the comparison, even if it's brands that I cannot really afford at this time.
I think it would make sense to do a different batch of comparisons with non-professional products (modelones, makartt, beetles, etc.)

Amazing as always. Found the sound very low again, had to turn way up then the ads come on and deafen me.
Sound wasn’t bad but I did notice the music was definitely very low which always saddens me as I love the intro song.
I would love to see the battle of neons, whites, blacks or glow in the darks...
I use both wonder gel an shinee( the other enail top coat) and wonder gel is great however after a few layers of gel it can make the nail look thiccc. So you just need to be careful when you use it. Its a rubber top coat an its stain an scratch resistant
I'm sorry, I just got a bit confused when you compared soak off top coats vs hard top coats since they behave differently and are meant for different products(just meant as constructive criticism🙈) I also personal wish that I knew the name of more than 4 of the 11 bottles, but I understand that you can not have all products out there. I was so sure that the wonder gel was supposed to be thicker than the regular Shine-E top coat🤔 My wonder gel are definitely the thickest one out of those two. But he might have changed the formula 🤷♀️ I missed Madam Glam in the mix, just because it is my personal favorite 😁 Great video Kirsty 💕👍 Tfs 💕

You should try Zulay's Crystal glue it is amazing!! I use them all big and small and never lost one Crystal with this glue. She is also a utube nail 💯🔥💅💖

My favorite top coats weren't in this video. They're Madam Glam no wipe, Young Nails stain resistant, Young Nails Ultimate Finish, and Dulce Nail Sprinkles no wipe. Madam Glam also has the best Matte Top Coat too!

WowBao is an excellent brand and wears very well I’ve yet to experience chipping or peeling etc from their topcoat over my gel or acrylic plus they are a local company to me based in crewe.
I imagine it’d be really relevant to peoples who only use gel polish on natural nails (obviously since natural is more flexible) but I always find with my acrylics or gel nails I never EVER see peeling UNLESS I put a top coat on a top coat and then the top definitely peels. I’ve used some of the most affordable amazon stuff (I do reviews for amazon vine) and never ever found a rubbish top coat that peels off fake nails. Don’t know if it’s because I’m too lazy to remove the sticky layer or if I jut get lucky and affordable brands are really good quality these days lol.
Beetles, Morovan, Jewhitney, Delanie, Umikk, Aimeili, and Kanorine are all worth looking at for affordable/accessible top coat battle. 😊
I have never had a top coat peel when doing 2 layers of it... I've had to sometimes to hide an oops, or cause was ruffness, or it was too thin - So I've done it a lot - maybe its the brand??
Honestly, Modelones makes my all time favorite top coat! It's nice and thick, almost like a rubber top coat, nice and shiny and stays that way, not to mention being available on Amazon AND cheaper than most. 10/10 would recommend👍👍 If I want something thinner, I tend to go with Makartt, or Madam Glam which is kinda in the middle
I am alway so surprised on the differant brands of the same thing but how differant they are. What you get in uk isnt always availablie in kansas usa..lol also i am sure most of what you have is what they gift you. nice job being honest with each one.
Anyone have a suggestion for topcoat that stays shiney more than a week? I'm having a hard time finding one.

I love your show! I have a problem with the top cot . I have a crome powder.. Black mirror. I have used four times and I louse the mirror look??? What can I do??? Thank you for your show.
Hi Janice, when using chrome powders over a non wipe too coat i find curing them for 10 seconds less on a curing time of 60 seconds or 5 seconds less if a 30 second cure. As soon as the nail comes out of the lamp apply the chrome straight away while the nail is still warm and you should get the chrome look. Then float your top coat over the chrome so as not to drag the brush over your chrome and then do a double cure hunni xx
Also important to wipe the top coat brush on a lint wipe or paper towel and get all the dust off before dipping it back in the bottle as well. I hate doing that and feel it wastes my topcoat but it saves the bottle getting contaminated as quickly.
I have a bottle of top coat I keep that’s specifically designated ONLY ever to be used over chrome nails so any contamination won’t show much. It’s kind of like that rule of having a bottle of topcoat you only EVER use over loose glitter and nothing else because that tiny bit of contamination that’s inevitable won’t show much on other glitters 😂.
@@JadeLeaf1980 Yes definitely hunni there is nothing worse than contaminated top coat it drives me insane too 😂 so separate bottles for glitter and chromes 100% xx
