The original Ronettes were replaced many times in the recording studio and even live. The Ronettes opened for the Beatles on tour in 1966 without Ronnie but with an unknown replacement... and no one was the wiser. Phil Spector often used session singers instead of the original Ronettes on the recordings. In fact, I read that Ronnie would often be in the studio recording while the Ronettes would be on tour with a replacement. And you know, the audience did not seem to mind or even care or even know the difference.

I’m 72 & I grew up in the 1960’s & loved this music of Phil Spector. Phil was a genius in the music business.(Ronnie Spector) & the Ronettes, the Crystals, etc. Music is so easy to dance to. Such great memories 🥰

I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped as a kid when I saw them perform on American Bandstand. OMG, the bee-hive hairdos and lashes! And "Be My Baby" was, and still is, pretty much at the top of my list of favorite singles EVER. The arrangement and drumming is awesome. It's pure pop magic!
