I like how nedra was caring and very gentle with Estelle. She made sure she was comforted after Estelle gave her short speech, letting her know she did good. RIP Estelle...Im Glad God let you live long enough to experience this moment in time.
Yes her caring of Estelle did show on stage. And Nedra hit the nail right on the head when she said fame can be good but also very bad. Her and Ronnie were lucky to have met good men. Estelle wasn't so lucky and plus her illness didn't help. I'm happy to see they were inducted into the RARHOF at least Estelle & Nedra got a taste of there fame they once had in the 1960's. God Bless them all.
you may or may not know that Nedra (on the right) has been married to Scott Ross, who has been with CBN ((Christian Broadcasting Network) for many years. I believe they've been married for over 50 years also(!) she is absolutely a committed Christian believer. RIP Ronnie. this was the music I listened to ("Murray the K") from NY as I did my high school homework lying on my bedroom floor. If I only could go back in time, if only for a couple of day.......but heaven will be much, much better. Praise the Lord for that.
Ronnie wasn’t close to Estelle when she was alive. Didn’t help her sister out when she was down and out. As you can see in this video, who’s comforting Estelle…Nedra. Ronnie up there just thinking about herself, even scooted Estelle out the way to the side so she can be seen.
The Ronettes deserved to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame years before they were .thankfully they were all still alive when they finally got their induction

Nedra Tally speech was amazing at the induction ceremony. I loved how she spoke her truth about the good and bad lifestyle in Rock & Roll. I also loved how she said she chose to dedicate her life to our Lord Jesus christ. Something you never hear anyone admitting in a Rock & Roll ceremony, which was incredibly brave of her. Her humble way of talking made her speech even more beautiful, especially the way she looked after Estelle on stage. Due to her fragile way from suffering from Schizophrenia. When I read about Estelle Bennett life and death, it just really broke my heart and really proved how you can be on top one day and hit Rock bottom the next.
So glad all three Ronettes were inducted. They all were together in the beginning and each contributed to the group's success. When all three walked out on stage in the early 60's, they knocked the audience out with their talent and beauty--all dressed alike. They all three were beautiful this night, too. I accept people as they are. Their appearance and their words are all part of their personalities. This was their night and their only chance to say exactly what they wanted. It was wonderful to see all three there together sharing in this prestigious award and saying exactly what each wanted to say. Ronnie, true, had the unique sound and talent, but without her two Ronettes in the background, she very well may have not had the early success or the breaks which she did. History cannot be changed. This was a time for girl groups and the Ronettes, all three, had the look, the moves, and the voices to pull it off with Ronnie singing lead. What a fabulous threesome they were. Ronnie, so talented as she is, still performs with two backup singers at least. Her beautiful voice sounds even better with backup support. The Ronettes: the greatest girl group, ever.
It makes sense that Nedra was the one to thank God in her speech- that goes with humility and class. Very impressed- especially at the end, when she ever so gently said all of her thank yous, and then added sincerely "And for anybody I forgot, please forgive me." What a graceful lady! And I love that gold outfit. Her whole look befitted the graceful, gracious lady she is.

I couldn't agree with you more. All three won a lawsuit against Phil Spector for $2.3 million in 2000 which I'm sure really helped Estelle Bennett the most because she really went through some hard times in her life. Even as far as becoming homeless and suffering from schizophrenia, she was found dead in her home in Englewood, NJ in 2011. So now Ronnie is with her sister Estelle now. May they both be resting in peace.❤️
A great ceremony with one of the greatest girl groups. Ronnie fantastic , Nedra and the late Estelle. Wonderful to see Estelle was able to attend and enjoy this honor and sadly passed 2 years after. We have to remember Estelle suffered from schizophrenia so much of her hardships were because of this.Years ago the illness was misunderstood by the public . Why all the disrespectful comments about Nedra and her faith? Since when did people become so threatened by Christianity? All she did was thank God. That's what she does. If you don't share her faith that's your choice. But how can anyone say such nasty things about her and consider themselves a Ronettes fan?
I’m annoyed when my fellow Atheists do that. Most of the musicians that I love are religious and that’s their thing. It shouldn’t matter who or what they worship. What truly matters is the kind of person they are and can they put out a good tune.
stats1233 Im an atheist myself but that is very disrespectful! You should respect people religiones no matter what. But if im gonna be honest god didnt save her. She saved herself, she saved herself to not be like estelle Who took drugs or Ronnie for smoking and drinking. She saved herself from her surgery and she made herself the Woman she is today because of her effort
Random person -_- Your being disrespectful to her religion and her family. When you say “I’m gonna be honest, god didn’t save her. She saved herself.” Your implying that her beliefs don’t exist and she’s happy in the wrong fullness. So like I said your being disrespectful but also hypocritical.
Nedra, we love you and appreciate your kind comments to all your fans and We will always remember precious Estelle. Such wonderful memories we had in those day. You were the Ronettes.
Ronnie married Phil thinking he could make her a superstar. Like berry gordy did with Diana Ross. But once the wedding ring went on. Her career was over. Ronnie may not have been a monster but she was no angel either.
I had no idea Estelle ronettie had passed away from cancer, that's absolutely heartbreaking. She looked beautiful and sounded like an absolute sweetheart, I hope she is some place beautiful and warm. Where she can sing again as much as she likes, May she be at peace with mother earth xxx.
Such an important moment in music history. Very thankful it was documented and we have it to enjoy, and educate generations to come. I really learned a lot from these comments below. They were all fierce, and Ronnie was just next level kick ass - can't imagine what these women had to endure in their lives to make music. I am in awe.
Well said. Thank you. They were a fierce group. I fell in love with them when I first saw them in the late 70s. It was old footage, but I discovered them and glad I did. Their songs are amazing!!!
Ronnie gave an acceptance speech that one might expect for a R&RHOF inductee, but Nedra's was such an "adult," mature one, full of humility and appreciation for family, and thankfulness for all those in their lives who helped make the Ronettes the success that they were, it was a pleasant surprise. What a class act!
Wha a wonderful thing to witness🎀🎀🩷🩷🩷. R.I.P Veronica Bennet & Estelle Bennet. Enjoy everything god has given Nedra you will be loved and your cousins too.🩷🎀
What a beautiful video. So glad I saw this!! But it's heartbreaking seeing Estelle. I mean it's really really great that the Ronettes were given this award while she was still alive - it would've meant the world to her! But it's still so so sad seeing Estelle here - especially knowing about what she went through and how tragic her life was post-Ronettes. And the way she spoke made me feel even more sad - even with all that fame & adulation, Estelle was still timid, shy & unassuming, still hiding in her sister's shadow(?) ..almost like she didn't even think ppl would want to hear her speak. Poor Estelle - she seems like such a sweet, gentle person - really wish she didn't have to go through so much pain and hell. RIP Estelle, beautiful soul, unforgettable artist. I hope you know how much you have impacted so many people in this world.
addicted2music83 A lot of the backup singers in the girl groups from that era felt like their opinions/thoughts didn't matter. Estelle was the heart of that group, bar none. It's just that the glory went to her sister from the media.
@@MauriceRivers415 While surfing around I came across some extracts from a book by Clay Cole. He mentions that, in her later years, Estelle would leave her apartment in Englewood, notwithstanding her ill health, and sing in the choir at a church in Haarlem, where she also volunteered in the soup kitchen. Doesn't that tell you a lot about the beauty of her soul? Also, grateful thanks are due to Toyin Dong, a wonderful daughter to Estelle. RIP Estelle and now Ronnie. Blessings on Nedra.
The Ronettes personified the early and mid sixties. These three incredibly good lookin' chicks with their beehives and heavy black eyeliner was THE look for chicks then, and their music couldn't have been more perfect. I consider myself lucky to have been a teenager in those days and I'm so happy they finally got their overdue induction into the R&R Hall of Fame. Congrats, lovely ladies (and all three of you still look hot!).

+DetroitLives313 Really... that's what I was waiting for.. I just read "Tearing Down the Wall of Sound" about Phil and I know the cat was weird but damn man.. not even a mention????
I just saw Darlene Love perform at a dinner theater and speaking of Phil, she said "people always ask if I hate Phil and I say, look where I am now and look where he's at!!"
+Chuck Cunningham after all that he did to them (not FOR them, but TO Ronnie and the Ronettes) - ie. the abuse, the alleged financial wrongs, and keeping The Ronettes out of the hall of fame for years, he's definitely not worth a mention.
I'm glad ,that The Ronettes got in, but Motown's first successful girl group THE MARVELETTES have had THREE TIMES the chart hits that THEY had , including Motown's first #1 hit , "Please Mr. Postman", plus classics like "Beechwood 4-5679, "Too Many Fish In The Sea, "Don't Mess With Bill", "The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game", "Playboy," "I'll Keep Holding On", "My Baby Must Be A Magician", "Danger! Heartbreak Dead Ahead", "Forever', and numerous other hits, yet THEY are TWICE NOMINATED...BUT NOT INDUCTED !!! INDUCT THE MARVELETTES INTO THE ROCK and ROLL HALL of FAME !!!!
I agree The Marvelettes should have been inducted a long time ago. But look at how Connie Francis was never inducted which is also preposterous. They are no longer a respectful organization. They are part of Hollyweird that is political by dissing many great artists. They would diss even more if they could get away with it.
I totally agree. Their records still sound great and not dated all these years later. They were the blueprint for a host of girl groups to come beyond the '60s....
R.I.P Queen. Such a survivor, such a voice, such a look! Gorgeous, charming, and entertaining to the end. Go check out her Back to Black she was always so kind when asked about Winehouse. She was flattered to have inspired her... a lot of stars feel like they have to attack newcomers who take influence from them. Ronnie seemed like a fun class act.
A truly ground breaking group, Be My Baby was released 11 years before I was born and it stands the test of time 56 years later. It will still sound as amazing as it does today in another 56 years from now.
I agree. Was just listening to "Be My Baby" last night and the drummer just kills it on that record! It is the most magical pop record ever made to me....
Watching this, I think she gets a separate award for going through so much shit with Spector and still able to be inducted into the Hall of Fame with the same positivity and energy as the first time she sang, "Be My Baby." Ronnie u rule! You are forever my baby!
Love you Ronnie! Glad you had such support from the rock n roll community of which I was never aware. You were wonderful person in the eyes of God. Bless you.
Saw Ronnie Spector a few years ago at a casino in Md for a ''Christmas'' show and I must say it was great,however,... she was a bit over the top at this event.I don't know what it is but I think Nedra is beautiful in this video(what class and elegence)and Estelle was lovely also, but was to pass away shortly after this R and R induction.
I dearly love Ronnie, she is such a survivor! Amazingly, the looks and voice are still there despite the mountains she had to climb. For being so hot on stage, these three girls were better known behind the scenes for their grace, dignity and unfailing professionalism also in difficult circumstances.
Good Lord Ronnie can talk. The audience could have eaten their meal before she reluctantly let go of that microphone. How sweet was Estelle? Glad she got a good round of applause.
Good Lord-Ronnie deserved the time. This is more than a huge once in a lifetime event & everyone has their own personality. If she didn’t have the personality she did, she could have been killed by Phil Spector’s hand many years ago.
Alright you got me there. I thought maybe her speech was too long and not from the heart. It looked like it was written for her. The Ronettes was before my time. I was in born in late 1970's actually 1979 . I heard some of the songs but never knew who sang them. I love their music and appreciate it more. I'm sorry to hear about Estelle what she had to go through such a terrible ordeal - cancer and mental illness. ,- my brother has it. If you dont have family around them they will wonder?
I was in the USAF stationed in Minot, North Dakota, from 1963-1967, and believe it or not a traveling show of stars dropped by on their way to the west coast (or the east coast?) and being from New Jersey I had to go. It was downtown (small town) and the place was packed primarily with guys from the base. When the Ronettes came on stage, Ronnie was so right, the place went crazy. There were other acts and I have no idea who they were. All I remember is the Ronettes came to Minot, ND, to sing for us and that memory will be with me till my last day.
Ronnie was always about her. She wasn’t comforting of her sister throughout life which you can tell in this clip. Nedra comforted Estelle. Ronnie was pretty but ugly within and now she looks like an old hag. She started aging in her late 30s. The true beauties of The Ronettes were Estelle and Nedra, inside and out.

stats1233 very true and well said .
People hate Christ, His people, and God
Thank heavens Ronnie survived living with/marriage to Phil Spector. He was a monster. Creative and bright, but completely nuts. RIP Estelle.
She must be tough to survive that
Ronnie married Phil thinking he could make her a superstar. Like berry gordy did with Diana Ross. But once the wedding ring went on. Her career was over. Ronnie may not have been a monster but she was no angel either.
@@MusicandDancing4Ever and how do you know how Ronnie was, as far as "she was no angel either"?🤔. Sounds like you're just hating, just to hate 🙄
Phil Spector was a mad genius in my opinion, but he was dumb about alcohol and how low it can take one down...
Damn Ronnie's voice wow! It's still strong and power as ever she still got it.
Amen, Nedra...Many blessings to you and your family.
They deserved that award a long time ago. Sometimes late is not better. They must have so many great stories. Great job ladies! You’re so badass!🔥🔥🔥
Literally all Ronnie did was thank everyone in her life and she had fun doing it too
Wha a wonderful thing to witness🎀🎀🩷🩷🩷. R.I.P Veronica Bennet & Estelle Bennet. Enjoy everything god has given Nedra you will be loved and your cousins too.🩷🎀
love to you, Estelle.... Ronnie, it's not just about you.
It's just that the glory went to her sister from the media.
please dont forget Nedra
@@robolgatree5023 More people remember Nedra than Estelle. Let Estelle have her time.
How lovely to see and hear Estelle.
Very well said.
Congrats, lovely ladies (and all three of you still look hot!).
oh so true us Bronx girls we loved them we all wanted to be them . its only now u hear how creepy Phil spector was to all of them Darleen Love included
tinkmarz1 1959 too if i'm not wrong. They did amazing at that time. Legends. ❤
Indeed-I can sure relate to using all that Aqua Net Hairspray, ha, ha, ha!
She was always a hot, stunning, talented woman without even trying ...R.I.P to a beautiful soul❤
be my baby still one of my fave songs in 2021 and made before i was born ...
Now Nedra is the only one still alive! God bless Ronnie and Estelle, may you both rest in peace.
It's sad that Estelle went through so much in her life. I thought they would have gotten in sooner than they did.
I love Ronnie Spector and The Ronettes. You are singing "Take Me Home Tonight" with Eddie Money in Rock and Roll Heaven now. RIP Ronnie, you are a true angel 😇. Love and prayers from Canada 🇨🇦❤🙏🕊
nice to know someone like Eddie Money ended up in heaven...guess there's hope for me..
I love how she doesn't mention Phil Spector at all! LOL!
+DetroitLives313
Really... that's what I was waiting for..
Her abuse is her boyfriend Johnnie Walker!
Tout à fait d'accord
ABSOLUTELY
I agree The Marvelettes should have been inducted a long time ago. But look at how Connie Francis was never inducted which is also preposterous. They are no longer a respectful organization. They are part of Hollyweird that is political by dissing many great artists. They would diss even more if they could get away with it.
I totally agree. Their records still sound great and not dated all these years later. They were the blueprint for a host of girl groups to come beyond the '60s....
Estelle beautiful angel......rest in peace. this brought tears to my eyes.....truly these ladies deserve this........
Watching this, I think she gets a separate award for going through so much shit with Spector and still able to be inducted into the Hall of Fame with the same positivity and energy as the first time she sang, "Be My Baby."
Ronnie u rule! You are forever my baby!
I love them. I wish I was around in the early 60s. Such great sounds from that era.
I 'was' around 'in the early '60's', and I assure you, they were as much the compelling sound as any group...mesmerizing!
Happy 75th 🎂 Birthday
Nedra Talley-Ross. January 27th, 1946.
God bless you Nedra!🌹💋
Forever Ronettes!!❤
Love you Ronnie! Glad you had such support from the rock n roll community of which I was never aware. You were wonderful person in the eyes of God. Bless you.
Saw Ronnie Spector a few years ago at a casino in Md for a ''Christmas'' show and I must say it was great,however,... she was a bit over the top at this event.I don't know what it is but I think Nedra is beautiful in this video(what class and elegence)and Estelle was lovely also, but was to pass away shortly after this R and R induction.
rest in peace Ronnie you will be missed dearly, I love that voice
Ronnie has a voice that brings chills to my body. I love You Ronnie .
Real and Down to Earth!
Ronnie and The Ronettes; New York Sass and Spirit to Enlighten the World.🌹🌹🌹
I dearly love Ronnie, she is such a survivor! Amazingly, the looks and voice are still there despite the mountains she had to climb. For being so hot on stage, these three girls were better known behind the scenes for their grace, dignity and unfailing professionalism also in difficult circumstances.
i never knew who sung this song i never even tried to find out but this song played a big part in my life .....thanks little lady
Good Lord Ronnie can talk. The audience could have eaten their meal before she reluctantly let go of that microphone. How sweet was Estelle? Glad she got a good round of applause.
Maladjusted Ki Ronnie is talkative sheesh😂
So what! She deserved her time.
Good Lord-Ronnie deserved the time. This is more than a huge once in a lifetime event & everyone has their own personality. If she didn’t have the personality she did, she could have been killed by Phil Spector’s hand many years ago.
Stay classy though
Alright you got me there. I thought maybe her speech was too long and not from the heart. It looked like it was written for her. The Ronettes was before my time. I was in born in late 1970's actually 1979 . I heard some of the songs but never knew who sang them. I love their music and appreciate it more. I'm sorry to hear about Estelle what she had to go through such a terrible ordeal - cancer and mental illness. ,- my brother has it. If you dont have family around them they will wonder?
Ronnie Spector was amazing 🎉sooo talented !❤
I was in the USAF stationed in Minot, North Dakota, from 1963-1967, and believe it or not a traveling show of stars dropped by on their way to the west coast (or the east coast?) and being from New Jersey I had to go. It was downtown (small town) and the place was packed primarily with guys from the base. When the Ronettes came on stage, Ronnie was so right, the place went crazy. There were other acts and I have no idea who they were. All I remember is the Ronettes came to Minot, ND, to sing for us and that memory will be with me till my last day.
Nedra you are a wise human with a ❤️ of gold.
Do not know this bringst me to tears especially when estelle enters the Stage lately - could hug them all - bless them …
RIP Veronica "Ronnie" Bennett Greenfield, singing in heaven tonight.
WE BELIEVE AND LOVE YOU ALL!!! Thank you Ronettes!!!! You are role models for us all!!!! ❤
Humble, brief acceptance speech was heartfelt. So much love resounded in just very few words
Nedra you Rock ❤ big time, your loving words came straight from your big heart, love you 🙏🏽.
Disappointed that Ronnie made it all about her. Nedra was the one that actually spoke for the group!
Yes it looks Bad but, The speach was Made like that.
@@MusicandDancing4Ever This Comment Is 2 Years Old But I Just Wanna Say That Ronnie And Estelle Were Both Very Beautiful And Amazing Singers, Bless Their Souls.
Nedra Is Still Living And Still Looks Great.
Three beautiful, talented ladies. Your music will live forever.
Now Ronnie's gone....but remembered for always!
Thank u, Ronnie, for ALL the wonderful memories, as I was growing into a young lady. I dreamed of having someone who would one day "Be My Baby"... RIP, and may your voice ring from heaven.
omg they have beautiful skin and hair I want to age good like them
Ronnie looks haggard. Estelle and Nedra look good though.
Beautiful ladies! Keith Richard enjoying himself with them.
Long overdue...very sad, indeed. However, The incomparable Ronettes will remain in my heart, forevermore.
And Nedra is just lovely. :-)
Apart from the jesus bit.
@@kevinindublin No, included that.
🌿Estelle was a blessing to behold, unassuming & sweet ✨
The lady with the gold looks amazing 👏 ✨ 😍 wow
You leave Nedra alone. She's a classy lady and loves the Lord. Lay OFF
Amen!
They were blessed by god.
AMEN!!!!
Ok people, take this some place else.
I love how Keith is just vibing in the back:))
RIP. Seemed like such a cool person.
All of them are wonderful, but Nedra is the epitome of modesty, class and beauty.
nedra looked like she was protective of Estelle
She loved her
What a simple and beautiful comment Rob.

Beautiful! Thank you for the music &shows @ the bklyn fox theater👍😄😄❤❤❤
I love Nedra Talley's shout-out, at the 8:53 mark. Yes!
God bless all of three of these girls... as they said they had some great times and they went through some very bad times...
I was born in 1968 and I love to listen to the ronnettes
If there's not a movie of Ronnie's life - there should be. What a journey. Rest in peace, dear lady.
I love this woman, her spirit, her tenure and her amazing place in history!
How precious are these ladies.
Rest in heavenly peace, Ronnie. 💛🙏

Popular group. They are all beautiful. Though the years it seems nedra is so nice.
