I just found your playlist of these videos and I have to say amazing job bringing that old girl back to life! And that blue sure is a pretty color! Love seeing these old rigs get brought back to life!
Good to see that I am not the only one that does things 2 and 3 times, haven't touched my 1985 Freightliner in awhile, been working lots of overtime though and at 20/hr takes a long time to bank any money in Canada we just have to pay so much for everything, I save my money and head to Minot most of the time to get what I need and even with exchange rate is still cheaper, I have to replace all my air lines as well, and with my little chicken wrists ( as some call them) i can get into places easily just not strong enough to do anything once in there, lol Crowfoot and universal are very handy.
Another brilliant update the truck is looking fabulous fella 👍 how good would a period 1970s twin axel flat bed trailer look on the back of the Pete 😃👍 and most kids in London England 🏴 get dropped off to school in a car of some sort. You’re kids are going in a beautiful 359 Pete it doesn’t get much better than that surely. Good work mate all the best from London England 🏴
Every week is another week closer lol I'm ready to see it rolling down the highway and I know you are. It's looking good. I'll just have to come and drive it for you lol thanks for sharing, God bless you and your family.
People please quit telling the man how to do stuff, it’s his truck I’m sure he knows where the flaps go or don’t, I digress..........One day at a time, that steering wheel and fenders look awesome, it’s coming together quickly, I can’t wait to see the video you do installing the floor panels, the truck will look even better.......congrats on your hard work and perseverance! God Bless Sir.👊👊👍👍
William Carter I appreciate all feedback and thinking about it more it may look a little sharper if they were dropped down to match the front of the fender ... I’ll just add it to the list 👍
Gotta love the ol Waylon Jennings sticker in the rear window! Someday when she's on the road I hope to hear Waylons guitar in the background! LBL is looking mighty fine!
Twin sticks I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your rebuild of this old girl. It's been a process but she's coming along rather nicely thanks to your hard work and determination. she was made back when they used to make things to last for a minute or two unlike things in today's world.👍👍
Just an observation, check the steering wheel diameter. I have an 18” wheel instead of the original 20. The wheel blocks the ammeter, oil pressure, water temperature, and air pressure gauges from my view while driving. I am going to go back to the 20 and I hope that helps by moving it up even an inch. Nice job and it looks like you are having fun.
Great video I bin watching this project since the beginning got to say lot of progress and bin done over the last couple years I save every video in a folder made your project into a video and I can sit back eat popcorn and enjoy the show lol
scott Baker no I think the gauge is buggered because the cable was turning (see earlier video) and I noticed the hole on the backside of the gauge was damaged so I think it’s just spinning around without moving the needle
You have to be more than happy with the progress, you have done what many could not and without a full shop and in the elements. The start of this video should be your new intro. GREAT STUFF!
HAHA I wondered how long it would take you to notice the steering wheel was crooked. You build trucks like my husband did his, keep trying until you figure it out lol. Good job on the restoration!
G’day and greetings from Tasmania Australia she is really coming along, you can see that she will be a beautiful example of its type love watching you restore it it’s very interesting process thanks mate regards John, by the way they steering wheel your wife bought you is great and sets the cab area off!!!!

Dear 359 TwinSticks. Once again good progress is shown. Congrats. What a beautiful steering wheel you got from your obviously wonderful wife. Congrats again. Also because she has the patience/understanding to let you do what you do (and invest so much "family time" in this great restoration). 2) Please allow me to ask one thing. I'm definitely no expert but I wonder if the stainless steel fenders are mounted correctly?! I don't know for what reason the short mud flaps are (in front of the first rear axle). Shouldn't they be at the front ends of the fenders or did I simply miss the point? Best regards luck and health to all involved people.
First of all, I'd like to say it's great to see you bringing the old girl back, but I was wondering if you plan on painting the truck eventually? I would have painted it before hanging all the chrome and aluminum back on it. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that I think you're doing a great job on a great truck. You should be very proud of yourself for a job well done. I'm retired from trucking since 2000 and I myself and a areally good friend restored a 74 Pete back in 1987 that had really been abused, I can't tell you how gratifying it is to see and drive something you put your heart in. got to say you're doing a damn nice job and restoring that Pete those are some of the best looking trucks I think they ever made. one common that wanted to make cuz you're going to learn to hate those quarter fenders I worked on truck for 20 years and I hated those things they were pain in the butt to work around. also I hope you used in stainless steel bolts because otherwise they will rust and then the rust will get on your nice shiny quarter fenders and rust them too where you get Rusty Marks on them.
