What is the reinforcement piece? More foam or something else?

I have got 8mm fiberglas cores. Are they okay to use? Or will they splinter to easy??

Fibreglass Rod is fine to use, though for a spear i would use a thicker one! i use 8mm for swords

Hi mate yea 8mm is fine for swords etc. But for pole arms you won't 12 or 12.7mm ideally. Sorry for late reply
