Dan bags all his fish individually. It limits ammonia burn, and I’d a fish dies in shipping, it won’t contaminate the water and kill other fish. Dan is my go to guy.
Little suggestion: tie or glue some of the pinatafida to the top part of the the wood and let it grow emerged to resemble oak leaves! Other than that your tank is gorgeous!
I just recieved an order of 10 CPDs from Dan's Fish and they are doing great! I can't praise him enough for the level of care before shipping. I love this tank setup!
I have a White Wizard Snail called Saruman. He survived 3 tank cycle crash, one time that the tank emptied itself in the night (HE WAS CRUNCHY) and a malfunctionning heater that boiled alive all other tank mates. He is a SURVIVOR.
Wooo! Exciting update! Love the small schooling fish idea, it seems to work so well with the scape, and being orange, the tetras look great. Love it all!
Your tank is created with a lot of thought and good ideas. The schooling fish is a great choice for keeping the Fangor Forest look. I was thinking of larger fish but you were right the smaller fish make it all come together and create the look you are going for. 😊
Very cool. White wizard snails are notoriously difficult to keep alive, let alone to successfully breed. Will eat healthy plants for fun and are sickeningly short lived even at the best of times. And they poison water quite spectacularly when they do die. There is a reason why they are pretty rare in the hobby. Such a cool thematic choice. I hope you do well with them
Oh really! I'm learning a lot about white wizard snails then : ) So far I've had pretty good luck and no adult deaths, though I'm not seeing many babies thrive. I removed the snails into a separate tank in a warmer spot a little while ago to encourage some breeding, still waiting on some more little juveniles
Its almost like they eat one thing for a while. Then another thing. Like chimps moving through the jungle grabbing what's in season, except if the thing the need next isn't available? Poof! Give me a white military helmet snail any day of the week. Or a yellow mystery snail and some tip-ex 🤣
Your Fangorn tank is looking beautiful Taylor! I'm totally impressed how thick and plush it is. Well worth the wait. You are so adorable with a great sense of humor. Love you so much! ❤
Well worth the wait! Love the fact you chose the quite unexpected White Wizard snail. Very apt 🤣This aquarium is magnificent & has been great to watch it coming together. Can't wait to find out what other new inhabitants you've decided to go with at a later date. For now though your choices are really very cool
You can still put the bigtailed blue and black guppies to remind one of the butterflies in the treetops . (Yeah I know that's Mirkwood ,but it would look good) It needs mist , maybe some fine white clay for that. The backlight should be toned down , its a deep forest , and the glowing embers will show nice. Nicely planted👍 Imo
Tolkien himself would be proud of that. I thought you'd scrapped the idea and filled the tank with bubbling treasure chests. So glad you persevered, looks amazing.
Perfect stocking choice for effect you were going for. It's beautiful, mystical and so much fun watching the smaller school of fish swimming through the giant trees. Im replaying again just so I can stare into that beautiful tank
Great setup. Your forest might do well with a few bristlenose plecos. They have a very Entish look. If you can find a species that stays small. Dans might help you there.
Having 50-100 hastatus corydora in that tank would go so mesmerizing to watch! They’re tiny schooling corys and they’re amazing in large tanks with large numbers!
Annnnnd they surprisingly don’t dwell on the floor like normal Corys. They school in the middle of the tank and they usually rest on wood branches or plants! Super cute!
Impressive editing. The amount of time you took to cut yourself into that shot will not be appreciated by everyone. But, I get it. And I am a LOTR fan too. Enjoyed the video. Setting up an aquascape now. I got here by looking for videos of aquascapes and backgrounds. And now I subscribed. You are fun. Keep it up.
Watch that pump. It looks similar in size to one i had tried to use in my 90. The slaving on the strainer is to big for those fish. I lost a couple of fully grown mountain minnows in mine. The cpds will likely be able to get into the impellers of that pump. Likely the tetra will to. You may want to wrap it in screening to protect your new family members.
@ivy87684 Did the tights fabric get clogged easily? I've actually not used my circulation pump since filming because I've been worried about the fish, and I haven't been sure what do
@@SimplyBetta not that I've noticed. I always kind of swoosh around it with the gravel vac but it's easy enough to slip it off and squeeze it out in the bucket during a water change. It's worked really well for me for a few years
Fanghorn Forest looks amazing, Taylor! You smashed it! Coincidentally I have just read that part of the book this week (15th time of reading...) and the Ents have just done their stuff. Great choice with the fish and snails :)
Turned out amazing one species of fish in there is my favourite and the white wizard snail what a neat addition always a bit fancy touch. Relaxing schooling fish that the scape and fish highlight each other. Good to know hobby bred is preferred been holding back ordering a mate from across the country but this inspiring me to go for it again look at the work and time paid off it’s beautiful! More of this tank now it has stock and everything back to good health 🎉
Thank you for appreciating it! I'm pretty impressed with Dansfish right now, the tetras have even been spawning here and there - I have some new juveniles : )
I love your channel and your aquarium and fish are absolutely beautiful. You are also the sweetest, your so beautiful. I love watching your videos. Thank you for being so amazing. ❤❤
i like the stocking! the white wizard snails are very cute. i think some kuhli loaches would be sooooo cool! creepy (cute) lil snakies sneaking around at night ooooooooh
Not here for the dork of the rings bs (can't stand those movies) but the set up of the tank is amazing and getting fish from Dan is just the cherry on top! Sure, Dan's prices might be a little higher then average but the sourcing and care he give those fish are the best in the industry- why he is doing what he is doing for us fishkeepers because no one else does. I'm a firm believer of Dan's fish and always catch the livestreams- Dan is very knowledgeable about the fish and it shows on how passionate he is about three hobby and making it better. Tank looks great Taylor!
DORK of the Rings?! 👁👄👁 "Hello, police?!" Haha thank you, I love my fish and I'm so glad I didn't have to go to petco to get them. I think it would be fun to go see his facility!
It looks so beautiful! FYI on Dan’s last livestream 10/11/23 at around the one hour 6 min mark, someone mentioned a Sundadanio goblinus (!) if you’re still looking for a goblin themed fish 😂😊
Oh goodness yes they are. I've kept pygmy sunfish once, it was so long ago though I can't even remember the variety! I really love tiny, shy, colorful fish. I might have to do a pygmy sunfish tank, now
This is an awesome tank. I've just setup a more modest scape and had some brown algae, which is likely due to my tap water containing a reasonable amount of silicates. I've lowered the light intensity and the algae is slowly retreating. I guess the plan is to allow it to retreat fully, then gradually increase the light intensity again. If it re-emerges, I'll know the perfect lighting level for the time being. Once the tank matures and the plant mass increases, maybe I can try upping the intensity again. I'd say for anyone getting into aquascaping, even if going for lower tech scapes, if there's one thing you want to invest a little more in it's the lighting. Specifically adjustable lighting so you can start low and figure out how much is perfect.
Great choices especially the snails. Wait the embers are beautiful as are the others. Now I can’t wait for your additional stocking choices. So far, it’s well worth the wait.
When you first talked about it being a Fangorn tank I was thinking celestial pearl danios. Because the stars! I thought that was a perfect reference to Middle Earth. Either the stars that appear on the doors to Moria and in other places or the stars referenced by various folks. A perfect fish for the tank!
Might be a bit big to get along with your other fish, but Diamond Tetras (M. pittieri) have a really cool metallic/violet color to them, almost like armor.
Fangorn tank is back!! My cheesy LOTR edits aren't until about 11:00 if that's all you're here for :P
I love my fish : )
minute 12:12 - Almost pee'd my pants!! love the Gollum comment
You should put a small school of glass catfish in there they would look ghostly swimming around
After ten years, we finally see it's final form. Worth it.
Definitely feels like that
I want to see a fog machine when it’s done! Extra for an extra nerdy tank! 😍
Ooooooo I totally need a fog machine now

That makes perfect sense : )

It takes a LOT to defeat a white wizard
We have followed you, our sister, our captain, our queen. (With apologies to Boromir) Well done!
It's so beautiful. Gives a forest that has grown thousands of years vibes.
😂 the spontaneous gold of being a Mom and TH-camr! Great video!
Wooo! Exciting update! Love the small schooling fish idea, it seems to work so well with the scape, and being orange, the tetras look great. Love it all!

This tank is freaking aawweessoommee, definitely showing this to my mom. She’s a big LOTR fan
That's awesome! Thank you :)
I love the stocking you chose! I am in love with that tank. It's truly a work of art.

I love this tank! Lotr is the coolest theme you could pick! I mean what's better than Lotr and fish combined🤷♀😂
shoutout Dan one of the best around!!!
the algae actually adds to the dark creepy look. most ppl treat algae like a pest but it makes this tank look aged and more forest like
Fangorn Tank is beautiful!! I love your stocking choices. I am a huge fan of big tanks with large schools of tiny fish.
Your Fangorn tank is looking beautiful Taylor! I'm totally impressed how thick and plush it is. Well worth the wait. You are so adorable with a great sense of humor. Love you so much! ❤

Haha thank you Edward
I‘m a little late to this update but I love your explenations for your stocking choice! Its coming together great! ❤
Thanks for sharing great choices and wonderful tank
LoL 😂 love your clip edits! Love your art & stay nerdy my friend! ❤
Black neons are my new favorite. Hardy, gorgeous and inexpensive.
Oh yes, they do look striking
Those fish are going to look amazing in that tank. You did an awesome job. Dan's fish is great. Glad thanks for the discount code. Good luck.
I’m a huge LOTR fan and you have totally knocked it out of the park with this one! Looks awesome
Haha thank you!! If I can just get my moss to thrive (an algae outbreak knocked a lot of it out), I feel like I'll be on track
Perfect stocking choice for effect you were going for. It's beautiful, mystical and so much fun watching the smaller school of fish swimming through the giant trees. Im replaying again just so I can stare into that beautiful tank
Hey thank you so much, I'm glad you like it!! : )
As if I couldn't love you more... the poop break was hilarious!
LOL I wasn't sure if it would be uncouth to add that, but it was funny so I did XD
Mountain minnows, they way they swim makes them a favorite,, smooth full body movement. Still plenty of room for some ;-)
I love your stocking choices. The LOTR tank is beautiful!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Love the tank, the fish and the "cheesy" references, Taylor!!! Can't wait to see what else happens in Fanghorn!
Haha thank you
Really enjoyed this update. I love embers and CPDs 😊
Thank you : )
I'm more of a nano fish person, so your stocking choice was perfect for me. 😊
Great setup. Your forest might do well with a few bristlenose plecos. They have a very Entish look. If you can find a species that stays small. Dans might help you there.
I love your videos. Great to see the tank with livestock!
Thank you :)
Having 50-100 hastatus corydora in that tank would go so mesmerizing to watch! They’re tiny schooling corys and they’re amazing in large tanks with large numbers!
Oh my goodness, that would be so cute too. Are hastatus the smallest variety?
@@SimplyBetta yes! They’re the tiniest cutest corydoras! Even smaller than Pygmys! When they school in masses it’s really amazing!

Awesome video !
Go Dansfish !
Thanks!! Yeah seriously, Dansfish rocks
Awesome Aquascape! Love your stocking choices. 5/5 !!
You should consider a clean up crew. Like amano shrimp and otosinclus. Besides that the tank looks stunning

I have ember tetras and cpds in my tank too! They are really fun to watch!
Awesome choices.
Looks great Taylor. I think a school of dwarf corys would look really good in there too.

I use clean, black tights (pantyhose?) over the intakes on the filters in my fry tanks. They work really well.
Good catch, I actually turned it off (sadly) because I was worried about my smaller fish! What kind of screening did you use?

Gold Ring Danios! ❤ your videos too.
wow. Gold ring danios would have been perfect if I was smart enough to have remembered them ;)

THE BEST SNAILLLL
Such a cool tank!!
The individually-bagged ember tetras and CPDs are absolutely wild, never seen anything like that!

Hehe thank you
I have been waiting on this video for months!! Yay! 💚💚💚💚
Haha thank you, I hope it lived up to expectations
@@SimplyBetta it's amazing! Perfect fish for this set up. Great job! 😊
i love trap door snails. mine came with algae covering them, i call them The Moonies.
if not these nano fish i can see a paradise fish doing so beautiful in there
love the choices😊
I saw some black crowntail bettas and thought of you because immediately what came to mind was Wraith tank!

AWESOME. And the aquarium too🥴

Either the stars that appear on the doors to Moria and in other places or the stars referenced by various folks. A perfect fish for the tank!
Your reason to choose CPDs is lot more poetic than mine, I probably should have thought more about that one, lol!
I was thinking that the Gold ring danio would be precious!
you should add a red koi betta as the "dragon" if you find one peaceful enough to live with other fish :)
Some twig catfish! And they could be your little Ents
It looks so nice. Loved the video!
Thank you!! :D
Might be a bit big to get along with your other fish, but Diamond Tetras (M. pittieri) have a really cool metallic/violet color to them, almost like armor.
Oh you're right, they are really pretty!
I thought the ‘obvious’ stocking would be an albino African Dwarf Frog, but Gollum wasn’t in Fangorn so the White Wizard Snail is perfect.
Aaah I put white wizard snails in my Hobbit tank too!
Yesss ....u going to have a dwarf fish to for gimli? That be hilarious but I'm excited for what ever this tank looks amazing
I have a 20 long with ember tetras and CPDs. That's crazy!
