You will LOVE this car! They really aren’t hard to work on and parts are readily available! I’ve had mine for 5 years, and have only had to replace the water pump!
Big congrats on finding & acquiring your 986. I am a huge Boxster fan; I am the original owner of an '00 986S. I've always admired the Seal Gray. It wasn't available in 2000 or I might have spec'ed it on my car. I think the 18" turbo twist wheels would look great on your car. I'll look at your other videos. Enjoy your beautiful Boxster!
Welcome back to the family! I had a motor mount replaced the week after I got mine, made a huge difference when shifting. I also have 18” wheels. Great looking car, congratulations
@@richarddamico9894 4 hours wow. That's a pricey job! I have an independent German car mechanic who charges half that labor charge. I'm curious what his quote will be.
Do you have any indication of IMS bearing replacement? These are wonderful driving cars as you know but an IMS failure will mechanically total it. As far as the trunk lid is concerned I would try to find a used one rather than repair, should be lots available perhaps even in the right color. I have an Arctic Silver with 18" sport wheels in silver which I think look fine. I as well detest black wheels, reminds of cheap steel snow tire wheels we see here all winter. Good luck.
@@pq5761 Great choice Paul...I have a '99 and it's a daily driver with 18's which I sometimes switch with a set of 16''s for a smoother ride....I do like the 19's you have though!

High Richard and happy holidays to you and your family. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the motor mount replacement cost you?
@@pq5761 parts were $320. Labor was 4 hours. $180 an hour at the dealership, pricy but, I know it was done right

Nice pick up. Love the paint and wheel combo.
Love the wheels. That’s the style I’m wanting for my cayman. You did good on the boxster. Great car
Thanks Mike. Check out my latest video for an update.
Nice color! If it felt right during the test drive, then you have a winner here. 👍
I love my MR2 Spyder, very underated car. I usually never like larger wheels on roadsters but those look good on your car.
I owned a 2001 MR2. Very reliable car. It is super small and the interior quality was a bit underwhelming. It just didn't do much for me overall.

Congrats!Satin black for the wheels would go good with seal gray
Looked like the gap was a bit off on drivers rear quarter and trunk lid?
The gap is definitely off.
This is a good upgrade from your old c4?..you'll be going places soon, a good buy...welcome home
What Year Is This
how is your car now paul
An update will be downloaded very soon!
I Been Wanting To Buy A Boxster S Myself
I've driven an S and they are great. This in performance is mostly at the top end and the better brakes.
Bandit!!!!😁
Polish the headlamps and keep wheels look ok why spend the money on others…
I just think 18s are more practical and a better look on Boxsters. If I can find a bargain in a used set of 18s I'd rather have those.
