I think the space jockey in the original Alien film was never designed to have it's back story expanded upon. They just added it in because it looks so cool. As a result, nothing makes sense when you look into it.

Hope some1 comes up with the idea that itz a bio - mechanical bein which is grown out of a chair with the original plan & make a movie about it or maybe Dalias or Kane must be wrong about sayin that it lookz like itz grown out of a chair since the bio - suit may resemble like that.
It would make more sense that the engineers found the xenomorphs, re-engineered them into a bio weapon, and then David
de-engineered the weapon version back to the traditional eggs.

It sucks that they introduced such a cool alien The Deacon, but we'll probably never get anything more. They just give you a glimpse at the end of Prometheus and that's it.
It is a lot more sad when you think about what the Deacon became in the comics. It had a ton of potential.

One of the best things about alien 1979, is that the xenomorph walks UPRIGHT. Slow, creepily,, and truly alien.
The crawling around just kinda killls the fear for me. It should walk completely upright, unless climbing. It just
looks way better with the design. As soon as they crawl around they're basically bugs... It lacks the HUMAN element
of big chap. Without that, its just another creature. If it uses quadped locomotion for running ok. But upright walking makes it scary.
I agree, but I also love the design of the xeno in Alien3 and how it crawls and runs like its host (dog or ox). I think they look scary and beautiful both ways.

Interesting take, makes them kind of a foil to humanity's dominance as an evolved bipedal species. But ironically for me, seeing The Runner (dog Xeno) from 3 gives me the most dread. We got well acquainted with their biology by the sequel, but then comes one that's relatively "feral" compared to the average drone.

The Alien creature was from HR Gigers book of the necronom IV and when Ridley seen it he then contacted Giger.
My theory is that space jockey are from a different species that are older than engineers. They're basically like some sort of "living machine" lifeform, hence why they have this biomechanic design as well as the xenomorph.
I believe the xenomorph is a species that came to exist through natural evolution of billions of years, until engineers came to exist and developed inteligence enough to manipulate these other species, seeing xenomorphs as a weapon to become the top of the food chain, similar to humans in our own planet using animals to their own benefit and rise above all life.
When humans came to exist, engineers felt threatened, the same way we feel threatened by robots, BUT little does any of them know that synthetic life is tied to ALL life because biomechanic organisms were how life came to be in the first place in the entire universe, meaning that even the oldest lifeform like space jockey is no further from the newest lifeform like androids, no matter how far apart they are in time.
Basically space jockey, xenomorphs, engineers and androids are all biomechanic life, where humans are merely an extension that we don't even know how we are also part of this massive lifecycle. Crazy, huh?

The Deacon from Prometheus or that same Engineer was supposed to be taken to planet four to be impregnated by the facehugger there to recreate the Xenomorph like Creator being, and it have the lifespan of the Engineers and intelligence to restart it's race. The whole saga is an alien reproductive life cycle disturbed by humans. It's why David made the second jaw structure so a facehugger did not impregnate a xenomorph

This where David, ash, and Wayland fails to see they didnt created the prefect life form. They created a prefect killing weapon. The perfect life form is the deacon that the Engineers praised.

My head canon used to be that it was a gateway for a civilization from a previous universe they managed to send it past the Big Bang to allow them to survive the end of their universe. Steadily evolving, using living organism from the current universe to become accustomed to our universe. Ultimately they would evolve enough to regain their consciousness and knowledge from the previous universe.
They only managed to have the black goo survive the heat death of their own universe and the xenomorphs would allow them to be reborn in our universe. A true eldritch abominations.
Is this backed up by any canon material? Don't get me wrong this is a really cool idea, I am just curious if there is any evidence for this.

What is it with every director using xenos as a bug or ant like. Alien isolation did a fantastic job of showing a nest of them and the creatures still being terrifying and almost unstoppable. Some of the aliens comics did a good job of making them imposing and intelligent.

The "space jockey" as it was originally shot and intended, is another alien creature whose actual shape is as it appears: a biomechanical creature of incomprehensible form which is part of the ship itself. This was the original intention of O'Bannon, Scott and crucially HR Giger who had to design and sculpt the damn thing. Along with everyone else involved in the original film. And yes, there's documented evidence of what they intended it to be at that time.
The fact Ridley Scott later CHANGED HIS MIND in 2012 and decided the space jockey was really just a large humanoid in a suit, is one of the stupidest retcons in cinema history. And it was only done to suit his purpose of reviving the franchise and making it all an unimaginative, human-centric, "God" story.

From my point of view Engineers are looking for the suitable life form in which they can preserve their knowledge and spiritual essence and yet the life-form that is greatly adapted to harsh conditions of life in this space . Engineers are like Annunnaki - they came from the Sky but it the sense of spiritual realms (Heaven) . That is why products on the planet are not Engineers and they are not needed/preferred outcome . I like to believe that the Engineers worshipped a race of beings and that in their attempt to bring these beings back into existence led to the Xenomorphs. It probably wouldn't work on Godzilla since its mouth and insides are canonically hot enough to sear flesh from bone but their is no reason it couldn't drop its egg inside Kong's mouth after being swallowed.

If you go of the full scripts of alien, aliens, prometheus, alien convent, alien romulus, you get some answers, but not as many answers the comic book gives. If you just going off the movies, you get way more questions than any kind of answers.
Riddle just needs to step away. Let someone make bad ass horror movie and give the answers. With his hands in it, you get great horror movies with all kinds of questions. Or you get a non-horror movies with some answers.
The trunk is missing the point. It's not a trunk. Trunk is muscle. The structure running down the front of the Space Jockey's face and entire torso is BONE. It's much more likely to be the creature's spine.

The idea that they're two separate species is completely stupid. Just face it. Ridley Scott had one idea for them in the first movie, then changed his mind later on. Space Jockeys and Engineers are the same thing. Any discrepancies are just Ridley's fault for not being consistent in his retcon. And anything else in the expanded lore that contradicts this, like comics or games, are simply not canon. At the end of the day, Alien is a movie franchise first and foremost, so the movies take priority on what is and isn't canon.

We did if you actually care about the expanded universe. The comic Aliens Fire and Stone has your answer. The black goo mutated the Deacon (I think the ability for the goo to mutate xenomorphs as seen in Aliens Fireteam as well as the Deacon is stupid) and it turned into a giant living mountain around the wreckage of the prometheus while a Predator and a android get mutated by the goo as well in the storyline

@@alex1981 well for one having the secondary tiny mouth would prevent a facehugger from being able to impregnate a xeno. Secondly, which acid blood, even if it got into a xeno (which again, it can't) it would instantly dissolve as it busted out.

@@alex1981 They don't have any of that. They either implant an egg that hatches releasing the chestburster or they implant the infant alien directly into the host. Facehuggers and Xenomorphs are all the same species so they wouldn't target each other.

From my understanding although how accurate this is is debatable. The engineers created an ai sub servant race which served them in the past but the AI went rogue and waged war against the engineers, in response the engineers resorted to bioengineering and the xenomorph creating black liquid is their weapon designed to wipe out all life which was previously created by the engineers. The reason for doing this is because the engineers do not want the ai getting a hold of their DNA and the Human race are the Engineers. At the end of the universe when it all implodes and the big bang happens again the human race(now the engineers) survived through it and essentially now exist alongside their origin race humans. The AI require the engineer DNA in order to figure out a way to survive past the implosion of the universe.
