Car Camping at Camp Ragsak, La Trinidad, Benguet | Postcard From Nowhere I Malamig na Campsite I

Looking for a good campsite near Baguio City?
Camp Ragsak is definitely a place worth checking out!
Located in Sitio Atol Long Long, La Trinidad, Benguet , Camp Ragsak is a mere 6.2 km (21 mins) North of Baguio City via the Lt. Tacay road - Long Long Feder road.
Getting there is easy, as the roads are paved except for the last 750m stretch of dirt road (Clay) leading up to the campsite which is passable by any type of vehicle. The camp is quite easy to find. Camp Ragsak can be found on both Google Maps and Waze. Just follow the directions and you can’t go wrong.
Like most campsites in and around the area, Camp Ragsak was initially intended for tent camping. But the camp owners are quick to pick up on the growing demand for car camping facilities and made three areas readily available for car campers.
Area 1 is near the Gate. Ideal for rigs with roof tents as this is the only spot that is unobscured by low branches and power lines.
Area 2 is overlooking the tent camping grounds which also provides the best view of the La Trinidad valley below.
Area 3 is at the end of the road. Ideal for car campers with little kids in tow as this is the spot closest to the toilets.
Each area can only accommodate 1 car at a time and is spaced out relatively far apart for some privacy.
By far, Camp Ragsak is the ONLY campsite we know in the area that has a stay-in Camp Master. Pedro was the camp master assigned to us. He was quick to pitch the gazebo tent over our assigned picnic bench when it drizzled. Made sure we had firewood for our campfire. Politely informed campers to tone it down a notch came nighttime. Handed out umbrellas when it started to pour. In short, he was the go-to guy if and when you needed anything at camp. Not that we needed tending to, but having a camp master around spoke tons about how Camp Ragsak cares about their guests.
Camp Ragsak offers a spectacular view of the entire La Trinidad Valley while being serenaded by a romantic sunrise and sunset.
The climate is quite cool all throughout the day and very chilly at night. You would be well advised to bring really warm clothes if you plan to spend the night here.
Not far from Camp Ragsak about 500 meters (7 minute hike uphill) is Warrior’s Nest in Puguis Communal Forest featuring Obby courses, swings, seesaws, and a picnic area which can be accessed by the public without paying entrance or any other fee. It is a real treat for kids and those kids at heart!
Overall we would venture to say Camp Ragsak is hands down, easily one of the best campsites in La Trinidad valley. We’d highly recommend you guys give it a go!
