I will let you know, as soon as I have a reason to replace my ML430 with a ML550, but it is going strong at 208500 miles, no check engine light, no stored codes. Things I LOVE about my ML430: Always tons of torque from the get go Excellent ride with HD front shocks It never left me stranded in 8 years Who can do this on asphalt? Low-Range, permanent 4x4, electronic locking differential function (4TS/ESP)!! I have never driven a car with such confidence in all conditions. My favorite part: snow driving and offroading, really no worries at all with this beast
A planned project of mine is to get an ML55 because you can get them for pretty cheap here in South Africa, and manual swap it like you did your C55. We currently have a w164, but I love that w163.
I’ve owned 2 ML55s, they’re cool, but I’m kinda over them now and would take a ML63 instead, mainly for the better ride quality and a little more power. ML55s have a harsh ride due to their body on frame design. And ML55s are basically 15 sec 1/4 SUVs. Fast 20 years ago but not so fast today.
totally get you, the ML63 is a better overall car as far as power, comfort etc. Still something about the W163 that I enjoy a great deal, but the W164 is no doubt much nicer. Crazy to think these two are only 8 years apart, it feels like 20 driving them back to back. I love both of them for what they are and am grateful to have them! With the mods I have done to my ML55, I will say it is not slow by any means and in some instances like initial acceleration, feels very similar to ML63.
Thank for the video Anderzen. The W163 I much better of road cos of the low range but the w164 is a much better AWD. An waiting for some winter snow in the Yorkshire Region of England. Would add 500cc make my ml500 a 55? I hope can get round to the rear turbo mount on the ml500. 1luv
Totally agree! I am excited to try the ML63 once we get some real snow, the ML55 has already shown me the W163 is fantastic off road and in snow. Rear mount turbo would be awesome! I have considered turbo or supercharging the ML55 multiple times, think it would be a great platform for it. Cheers brotha, one love!

@@ANDERZENAMG sounds awesome. Yeah I always wanted to boost my ML55, but it never happened. A boosted ML55 is a pretty badass sleeper!
