17717 looks amazing. Makes me frustrated that I was unable to get ever get one of those within just one bus ride away. 17701-17730 started out in Manchester as 1601-1630, and while we know them as MK02s and ML02s, the first few were supposed to be MF51s. Some (I’m not sure if all) carried a special purple and gold variation of the Beachball livery for the Queen’s jubilee. Additionally, they were the first Stagecoach ALX400s outside London to receive the full Beachball spec, excluding 17629, which was refurbished following an arson attack in 2001. Like you said, they weren’t in Manchester very long, they’d all moved to either Hull or Devon, probably replaced by the huge order of Enviro400s Manchester received during the second half of the 2000s.
@@leicestertravels4705 Yeah, really sad to be honest. I hope that Exeter will be getting new buses this year as I feel like we need some, our newest buses are from 2018 and I feel like we need more.
I always enjoy your videos, but this was particularly excellent. It's amazing how many older vehicles Stagecoach have. I live in Grimsby where the newest vehicles are 14-plate E200s... every day is a classic running day 🤣 Nice work 👍
18:03 17701 (ML02 RWO) was with Stagecoach South West and was our oldest bus in service however it was withdrawn in August/September last year due to its old age and Enviro400 Scania 15782 (WA61 KLE) becoming an Open Top because of an accident with a bridge therefore replacing 17701
There is a fleet of 3 ex Dublin B7tl Alx400s with stagecoach bluebird up in Aberdeen. ESK934 (X122HKY) may possibly be the oldest closed top buses left in the whole of stagecoach UK !
